Backgroun.: Un.il recen.ly, tumors of the clivus an. the an.erior region.of the posterior cran.al fossa were con.idered extremely difficult to access an. often.in.perable usin. stan.ard tran.cran.al approaches. With the in.roduction.in.o the n.urosurgical practice of min.mally in.asive methods utilizin. en.oscopic techn.ques, it became possible to effectively remove hard-to-reach tumors, in.ludin. cen.ral tumors of the an.erior region.of the posterior cran.al fossa. Methods: From 2008 to the presen. time, the in.atien. in.titution.has operated on.140 patien.s with various tumors of the base of the skull, localized to the clivus an. an.erior region.of the posterior cran.al fossa (65 men.an. 75 women.. The age of patien.s ran.ed from 3 to 74 years. Tumor distribution.accordin. to the histopathological features was as follows: chordomas, 103 (73.57%);men.n.iomas, 12 (8.57%);pituitary aden.mas, 9 (6.43%);fibrous dysplasia, 4 (2.86%);cholesteatoma, 3 (2.14%);cran.opharyn.iomas, 2 (1.43%);plasmacytomas, 2 (1.43%);an. other tumors (gian. cell tumor, n.urohypophyseal glioma, osteoma, carcin.id, chon.roma), 5 (3.57%). The tumors had the followin. size distribution. gian. (more than.60 mm), 35 (25%);large (35–59 mm), 83 (59.3%);medium (21–35 mm), 21 (15%);an. small (less than.20 mm), 1 (0.7%). In.11 cases, in.raoperative mon.torin. of the cran.al n.rves was performed (21 cran.al n.rves were iden.ified). Results: Upper, middle, an. lower tran.clival approaches provide access to the an.erior surface of the upper, middle, an. lower n.urovascular complexes of the posterior cran.al fossa. The chordoma cases were distributed as follows accordin. to exten. of removal: total removal, 68 (66.02%);subtotal removal, 25 (24.27%);an. partial removal, 10 (9.71%). The aden.mas of the pituitary glan. were removed totally in.6 cases, subtotally in.1 case an. partially in.2 cases. The men.n.iomas were removed totally in.1 case, subtotally in.5 cases, an. partially in.5 cases, with less than.50

For the first time, a highly crystallin. porous shish-kebab structure with a high degree of crystallin.ty was obtain.d by usin. a combin.tion.of two methods for the formation.of porous polymeric materials. A treatmen. procedure usin. supercritical carbon.dioxide(sc CO_(2))was carried out for orien.ed ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylen.(UHMWPE) films, which provided special con.ition. for the crystallization.of dissolved UHMWPE macromolecules on.the surface of orien.ed UHMWPE crystals. The prepared porous materials were in.estigated by scan.in. electron.microscopy(SEM) an. differen.ial scan.in. calorimetry(DSC). The particularity of the obtain.d porous shish-kebab is the absen.e of the amorphous phase between.lamellar crystals(kebabs). The obtain.d pores had an.oval shape, an. they were orien.ed in.the orien.ation.direction.of the UHMWPE macromolecules. The pore size ran.ed from 0.05 μm to 4 μm. Con.rollin. the con.ition. for the crystallization.of the UHMWPE macromolecules usin. supercritical CO_(2) gives the possibility to con.rol the size of both lamellar disks an. pores formed.

In.an.xperimen. at the PHELIX laser system, high-curren. directed beams of DLA electron. with a mean.en.rgy ten.times higher than.the pon.eromotive poten.ial an. maximum en.rgy up to 100 MeV were measured at 10^(19) W/cm^(2)laser in.en.ity. The spectrum of directed x-raysin.the ran.e of 5–60 keV was evaluated usin. two sets of Ross filters placed at 0°an. 10°to the laser pulse propagation.axis. The differen.ial x-ray absorption.method allowed for absolute measuremen.s of the an.ular-depen.en. photon.fluen.e. We report 10^(13) photon./sr withen.rgies >5 keV measured at 0°to the laser axis an. a brillian.e of 10^(21) photon. s^(−1) mm^(−2) mrad−2(0.1%BW)−1.
