Epitaxial thin-film Pd_(1-x)Fe_(x) alloy: a tunable ferromagnet for superconducting spintronics

Thin epitaxial films of the palladium-rich Pd_(1-x)Fe_(x) alloy were synthesized and extensively studied as a tunable ferromagnetic material for superconducting spintronics. The(001)-oriented mg O single-crystal substrate and the composition range of x = 0.01–0.07 were chosen to support the epitaxial growth and provide the films with magnetic properties spanning from very soft ferromagnet for memory applications to intermediately soft and moderately hard for the programmable logic and circuit biasing, respectively. Dependences of the saturation magnetization, Curie temperature and three magnetic anisotropy constants on the iron content x were obtained for the first time from the analyses of the magnetometry and ferromagnetic resonance data. The experimental results were discussed based on existing theories of dilute ferromagnetic alloys. Simulation of the hysteresis loops within the Stoner-Wohlfarth model indicates the predominant coherent magnetic moment rotation at cryogenic temperatures. The obtained results were compiled in a database of magnetic properties of a palladium-iron alloy in a single-crystal thin-film form considered as a material for superconducting spintronics.

Copolyfluorenes are of great interest due to their ability to form thin films with tunable optical and electrical *** this paper,copolymers of polyfluorene with electron withdrawing dicyanostilbene and dicyanophenanthrene moieties were synthesized;their thin films were characterized by electron spectroscopy,cyclic voltammetry,electrical,and photoelectrical *** mobility of charge carriers in the copolymers was measured for the first time,with the acceptor components providing balanced electron and hole mobilities of the order of 10^(-6) cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1).Photodetectors based on the copolymer/PTCDI heterojunction exhibited the photoresponse band extended into the green region due to the absorption of PTCDI and an increased photocurrent in the UV-blue absorption band of the copolymer,which is related to the absorption of photoluminescent emission of the copolymers in *** presented approach to improving the performance of a polymer-based photodetector is promising in organic optoelectronics.

The distention of the colon without mechanical or anatomical obstruction, Acute Colonic Pseudo-obstruction (ACPO), is a common condition occurring in the critically ill. ACPO in the setting of an acute pulmonary embolism and embolic stroke is a rarity. A 76-year-old female with shortness of breath, left hemiparesis and right-sided paresthesias presented with acute pulmonary embolism and acute infarcts of the left caudate nucleus, thalamus and occipital lobe. Her hospitalization was complicated with persistent distention of the large bowel without dilation of the small bowel. Empiric antibiotics were initiated without improvement and laboratory studies including Clostridium difficile were negative. She underwent nasogastric decompression and two decompressive colonoscopies with a resolution of her symptoms. This case illustrates an example of acute abdominal distension, without underlying etiology, in the setting of acute embolism of the pulmonary and cerebral vasculature. Early identification and action with decompressive colonoscopy were key to preventing further bowel damage or rupture.

基于不同渗透率岩心的三维微观模型,采用流体体积法对纳米流体驱油进行数值模拟;利用实验测得的含SiO_(2)纳米颗粒的悬浮液界面张力、接触角和黏度,针对质量分数为0~1%、具有不同粒径的SiO_(2)纳米颗粒的水基悬浮液,研究了纳米颗粒质量分数和粒径、驱替液流速、原油黏度和岩心渗透率对纳米流体驱油效率的影响。研究表明:采收率随着颗粒质量分数的增加而增加,纳米颗粒质量分数增加到0.5%时,与水驱相比采收率可提高约19%;纳米流体驱油采收率随着纳米颗粒粒径的减小而增加;在毛管数接近临界值的注入模式下使用纳米流体驱油对高黏低渗储集层提高采收率最为有效,且提高采收率幅度随着驱替速度的增加而减小;原油黏度越大,岩石渗透率越小,纳米流体驱油提高采收率的效果越明显。图16表2参37。

The first time for the territory of European Russia describes the cases of catching bats with signs of albinism. This article describes the detection of three species of bats with partial albinism in European part of Russia. There are four animal units of Eptesicus serotinus turcomanus that are stored in Penza State University. They were procured in Astrahan region in 1992 and in 1996. One more animal was found in Volgograd region in 2004. All these animals have white spots of different size and shape on their abdominal part of body. In 2012 it was caught a young female of Pipistrellus nathusii in Samarskaya Luka (Samara region) and in 2013 the scientists found a mature female of myotis mystacinus. Both animals had a light-colored fur, red eyes and with almost white ears. moreover, they had pale-pink noses and extremities.

Sino-Russian Security Cooperation Within Shanghai Cooperation Organization

Being one of the leading philosophical directions, phenomenology offers an approach for various scientific scopes to benefit from. Among these scopes, education and teaching constitute the most important ones. The phenomenological approach in teaching is widely applied in different educational spheres and in different countries. An analysis of this approach reveals a variety of contributing phenomenological schools. The paper also emphasizes the relevance and potential attainability of a unified basis for this approach.

3D pore-scale modeling of nanofluids-enhanced oil recovery

This article focuses on the Sino-Russian security cooperation within the SCO. The authors consider the security cooperation as the one of the most important parts of bilateral relationships of the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a platform which was founded for Central Asia regional safety. Both China and Russia have an interest in preserving stability of Central Asia, which makes the SCO a unique and promising platform for Sino-Russian security cooperation. The authors come to conclusion that, although these states have different senses of the SCO future prospects, as the unofficial leaders they can morph it into more effective mechanism for their own cooperation by the way of combining their interests with mutual concessions and interaction with another regional organizations.

The numerical modeling of oil displacement by nanofluid based on three-dimensional micromodel of cores with different permeability was carried out by the volume of fluid(VOF)method with experimentally measured values of interfacial tension,contact angle and ***-based suspensions of SiO_(2) nanoparticles with a concentration of 0–1%and different particle sizes were considered to study the effect of concentration and size of nanoparticles,displacement fluid flow rate,oil viscosity and core permeability on the efficiency of oil displacement by *** oil recovery factor(ORF)increases with the increase of mass fraction of *** increase in nanoparticles’concentration to 0.5% allows an increase in ORF by about 19% compared to water *** ORF increases with the decrease of nanoparticle size,and declines with the increase of displacing *** has been shown that the use of nanosuspensions for enhanced oil recovery is most effective for low-permeable reservoirs with highly viscous oil in injection modes with capillary number close to the immobilization threshold,and the magnitude of oil recovery enhancement decreases with the increase of displacement *** higher the oil viscosity,the lower the reservoir rock permeability,the higher the ORF improved by nanofluids will be.

Nerve injury requiring surgical repair often results in poor functional recovery due to the inability of host axons to re-grow long distances and reform meaningful connections with the target muscle. While surgeons can re-route local axon fascicles to the target muscle, there are no technologies to provide an exogenous source of axons without sacrificing healthy nerves. Accordingly, we have developed tissue engineered neuromuscular interfaces (TE-NmIs) as the first injectable microtissue containing motor and sensory neurons in an anatomically-inspired architecture. TE-NmIs provide axon tracts that are intended to integrate with denervated distal structures and preserve regenerative capacity during prolonged periods without host innervation. Following implant, we found that TE-NmI axons promoted Schwann cell maintenance, integrated with distal muscle, and preserved an evoked muscle response out to 20-weeks post nerve transection in absence of innervation from host axons. By repopulating the distal sheath with exogenous axons, TE-NmIs also enabled putative delayed fusion with proximal host axons, a phenomenon previously not achievable in delayed repair scenarios due to distal axon degeneration. Here, we found immediate electrophysiological recovery after fusion with proximal host axons and improved axon maturation and muscle reinnervation at 24-weeks post-transection (4-weeks following delayed nerve fusion). These findings show that TE-NmIs provide the potential to improve functional recovery following delayed nerve repair.
