Objective: Obesity has become a wor.dwide epidemic that is dir.ctly r.lated to chr.nic tissue inflammation and impair.d fibr.nolysis, both of which lead to an incr.ased r.sk of thr.mbosis. The management of complications after.bar.atr.c sur.er. is still a challenge. The study aims to r.por. the incidence of por.omesenter.c venous thr.mbosis (PMVT) in patients under.oing bar.atr.c sur.er.. Intr.duction: Bar.atr.c sur.er. is the pr.cedur. of choice for.the tr.atment of obesity type III. despite the safe technique, the sur.eon must be awar. of the r.sks linked to lapar.scopy such as the PMVT. Computed tomogr.phy (CT) with intr.venous contr.st was the imaging method of choice for.diagnosis. Mater.als and Methods: We per.or.ed a r.tr.spective analysis of 4790 patients fr.m August 1999 to June 2020 was obser.ed the incidence of PMVT in this gr.up. Of all patients, 72.8% wer. female and 27.2% male. The mean age was 46.3 year. (34 - 72) and the mean BMI befor. bar.atr.c sur.er. was 41.4 kg/m2. r.sults: The study showed an incidence of PMVT of 0.12% (N = 6), por.al vein thr.mbosis was of 0.10% (n = 5) and 0.03% of MVT (n = 1). Of these, 72.5% (n = 3473 patients) under.ent lapar.scopic gastr.c bypass, 23.6% (n = 1131 patients) wer. submitted to the lapar.scopic sleeve gastr.ctomy and 3.8% (n = 186 patients) to other.pr.cedur.s. The mean postoper.tive hospital stay for.bar.atr.c sur.er. was 3.3 days. The aver.ge time of hospital stay of patients complicated with PMVT r.nge fr.m 5 to 14 days. No patient died of complications r.lated to PMVT. Conclusion: Por.omesenter.c vein thr.mbosis is a r.r. pr.sentation after.lapar.scopic bar.atr.c sur.er.. However. it is a ser.ous complication that has a high index of suspicion for.making its diagnosis. Conser.ative tr.atment using anticoagulants and thr.mbolytics is effective, it should always be consider.d the main tr.atment option. However. these patients must be followed up in the long ter., as late complications can occur.i

Er.ctile dysfunction is a common side effect of finaster.de and dutaster.de tr.atments. The objective of this study was to investigate the str.ctur.l changes in the penis using a benign pr.static hyper.lasia （BPH） r.dent model tr.ated with dutaster.de or.finaster.de. Sixty male r.ts wer. divided into the following gr.ups： C, untr.ated contr.l r.ts; C ＋ D, contr.l r.ts r.ceiving dutaster.de; C ＋ F, contr.l r.ts r.ceiving finaster.de; H, untr.ated spontaneously hyper.ensive r.ts （SHr.）; H ＋ D, SHr. tr.ated with dutaster.de; and H ＋ F, SHr. tr.ated with finaster.de. Tr.atments wer. per.or.ed for.40 days, and penises wer. collected immediately ther.after. The or.ans wer. analyzed using histomor.hometr.c methods to deter.ine the cr.ss-sectional penile ar.a, as well as the sur.ace density （Sv） of smooth muscle fiber., connective tissue, elastic system fiber., and sinusoidal spaces of the cor.us caver.osum. The r.sults wer. compar.d using a one-way ANOVA with Bonfer.oni＇s posttest. Gr.ups C ＋ D and C ＋ F had a significantly smaller.penile cr.ss-sectional ar.a, but mor. elastic system fiber.Sv compar.d to Gr.up C. Gr.up C ＋ D showed less smooth muscle Sv, and Gr.up H showed mor. connective tissue but a smaller.sinusoidal space Sv in the cor.us caver.osum compar.d to Gr.up C. Gr.ups H ＋ D and H ＋ F had less smooth muscle Sv than Gr.up H. Gr.up H ＋ D also had mor. connective tissue and elastic system fiber.Sv than Gr.up H. Both dutaster.de and finaster.de pr.moted penile modifications in the contr.l r.t penis, although this affect was ~r.ater.in Gr.up H animals. In this r.dent model, dutaster.de was the dr.g that most affected the cor.us caver.osum.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of chr.nic str.ss on the testes of pr.puber.al and adult r.ts and to evaluate whether.any alter.tions could be r.ver.ed when str.ss induction is ended. Seventy-six male r.ts wer. assigned to eight gr.ups depending on the type of tr.atment （contr.l or.str.ssed）, the age at which str.ss was initiated （pr.puber.al or.adult）, and the time of evaluation （immediate or.late）. Str.ss stimuli wer. applied for.6 weeks. Str.ssed pr.puber.al and adult r.ts evaluated immediately after.the last str.ss stimulus wer. included in SP-I and SA-I gr.ups, r.spectively. The late pr.puber.al （SP-L） and adult （SA-L） gr.ups of str.ssed r.ts wer. evaluated 6 weeks after.the last str.ss stimulus. Age-matched r.ts wer. used as contr.ls （CP-I, CA-I, CP-L, and CA-L gr.ups）. Application of str.ss stimuli to r.ts in the SP-I gr.up r.sulted in body weight and seminifer.us tubule diameter.r.duction. The r.ts in the SA-I gr.up also showed sever.l functional （testoster.ne level and sper. par.meter. and mor.hological （testicular.weight and seminifer.us tubule diameter. r.ductions. The r.ts in the SP-L gr.up showed incr.ased body weight and inter.ubular.compar.ment volumetr.c and absolute densities and r.duced tubular.compar.ment volumetr.c density. The r.ts in the SA-L gr.up pr.sented only r.duced sper. viability. Str.ss stimuli pr.moted changes in the r.ts in all the study gr.ups. The testes of the adult r.ts wer. the most affected by chr.nic str.ss. However. the str.ssed adult r.ts r.cover.d well fr.m the testicular.alter.tions.

Backgr.und: Pr.state cancer.is the second most common type of cancer.in man and the second in cancer.specific deaths in this population in the wor.d. Most of the causes of death r.lated to pr.state cancer.ar. due to its distant metastases, with the most common sites being: skeleton, distant lymph nodes, liver.and lung. r.nal metastasis is r.r., and studies suggest infiltr.tion due to ar.er.al micr.embolization of the tumor. A key point in this scenar.o is the clinical suspicion of differ.ntial diagnoses, to offer.the patient an effective ther.py in such a specific case. Aim: To r.por. a case of a patient with pr.state cancer.under.oing par.ial nephr.ctomy whose histopathological r.por. r.vealed a metastatic lesion of that pr.mar. site. Case Pr.sentation: 74 year. old man, r.fer.ed in May 2015 due to high PSA level and lumbago. PSA 323.11 ng/dl, r.ctal examination cT3a;biopsy was per.or.ed and histopathological study r.por.ed bilater.l pr.state adenocar.inoma, Gleason’s scor. 8 (4 + 4). Patient’s staging showed multiple secondar. implants on skeletal scintigr.phy. Tomogr.phy r.vealed solid exophytic lesion in the lower.pole of the r.ght kidney (4.7 × 3.6 cm);pr.state without cleavage planes with seminal vesicles and pelvic node enlar.ement. Hor.one ther.py was initiated, PSA levels dr.pped to 9.51 ng/dl and total testoster.ne Conclusion: Given the r.r.ty of these cases, it is not possible to pr.sume that nephr.ctomy enhances the sur.ival r.tes. However. we obser.ed that par.ial nephr.ctomy was a good choice for.our.patient, being the fir.t case descr.bed in the liter.tur.. Mor. r.por.s should be available and studies with higher.levels of evidence should be conducted to assist us in patient or.entation and decision making.
