An efficient and facile method for the synthesis of N-substituted pyrroles in moderate to good yields by the Paal-Knorr reaction of β-diketones with amines in the presence of β-cyclodextrin in aqueous media has been developed. Moreover, this process tolerated diamines （e.g., para-, metaor orthophenylenediamine） to construct bis-pyrrole or mono-pyrrole derivates.β-Cyclodextrin can be recovered easily after the reactions and reused without evident loss in activity.

Underwater target detection is extensively applied in domains such as underwater search and rescue,environmental monitoring,and marine resource *** is crucial in enabling autonomous underwater robot operations and promoting ocean ***,low imaging quality,harsh underwater environments,and obscured objects considerably increase the difficulty of detecting underwater targets,making it difficult for current detection methods to achieve optimal *** order to enhance underwater object perception and improve target detection precision,we propose a lightweight underwater target detection method using You Only Look Once(YOLO)v8 with multi-scale cross-channel attention(MSCCA),named *** the proposed multiscale cross-channel attention module,multi-scale attention(MSA)augments the variety of attentional perception by extracting information from innately diverse sensory *** cross-channel strategy utilizes RepVGGbased channel shuffling(RCS)and one-shot aggregation(OSA)to rearrange feature map channels according to specific *** aggregates all features only once in the final feature mapping,resulting in the extraction of more comprehensive and valuable feature *** experimental results show that the proposed YOLOv8-UOD achieves a mAP50 of 95.67%and FLOPs of 23.8 G on the Underwater Robot Picking Contest 2017(URPC2017)dataset,outperforming other methods in terms of detection precision and computational cost-efficiency.

The particle packed bed energy storage system has advantages such as low costs and wide temperature ranges,which can be combined with solar thermal power generation systems to solve the inherent volatility and discontinuity of renewable *** new materials with low costs and excellent storage performances is one of the eternal research hotspots in the field of energy *** paper innovatively uses sintered ore particles as energy storage material and studies the effect of particle size on the airflow resistance characteristics,energy storage characteristics,and thermocline evolution characteristics of the packed bed through thermal energy storage *** results indicate that for the particles in the macro scale,the smaller the particle,the lower the absolute permeability of the bed and the greater the airflow *** packed bed with smaller particles has a larger specific surface area,larger bulk mass,and smaller bed ***,the packed beds with smaller particles have better thermocline characteristics,less irreversible loss,and can achieve higher thermal efficiency and higher exergy efficiency in the heat storage *** cycle thermal efficiency in packed beds with 25-40 mm,16-25 mm,and 10-16 mm particles is 53.58%,56.27%,and 57.60%,respectively,and the cycle exergy efficiency is 61.81%,69.25%,and 74.13%,***,this paper also studies the effect of discharging airflow rates on thermal storage *** experimental results indicate that suitable discharging strategies should be selected based on different heat demands.

It has been reported that the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway plays a key role in the pathogenesis of ischemic *** a result,the development of drugs targeting the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway has attracted increasing attention from *** article reviews the pathological mechanisms and advancements in research related to the signaling pathways in ischemic stroke,with a focus on the PI3K/AKT signaling *** key findings include the following:(1)The complex pathological mechanisms of ischemic stroke can be categorized into five major types:excitatory amino acid toxicity,Ca^(2+)overload,inflammatory response,oxidative stress,and apoptosis.(2)The PI3K/AKT-mediated signaling pathway is closely associated with the occurrence and progression of ischemic stroke,which primarily involves the NF-κB,NRF2,BCL-2,mTOR,and endothelial NOS signaling pathways.(3)Natural products,including flavonoids,quinones,alkaloids,phenylpropanoids,phenols,terpenoids,and iridoids,show great potential as candidate substances for the development of innovative anti-stroke medications.(4)Recently,novel therapeutic techniques,such as electroacupuncture and mesenchymal stem cell therapy,have demonstrated the potential to improve stroke outcomes by activating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway,providing new possibilities for the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with ischemic *** investigations should focus on the direct regulatory mechanisms of drugs targeting the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway and their clinical translation to develop innovative treatment strategies for ischemic stroke.

Solar-driven interface evaporation with high solar-to-steam conversion efficiency has shown great potential in seawater ***,due to the influence of latent heat and condensation efficiency,the water yield from solar-driven interface evaporation remains insufficient,posing a significant challenge that requires *** this work,we designed a dual-mode high-flux seawater desalination device that combines solar-driven interface evaporation and capacitive *** utilizing coupled desalination materials exhibiting both photothermal conversion and capacitance activity,the device demonstrated photothermal evaporation rates of 1.41 and 0.97 kg m-2h-1for condensate water yield under one-sun ***,the device exhibited a salt adsorption capacity of up to48 mg g-1and a salt adsorption rate of 2.1 mg *** addition,the salt adsorption capacity increased by approximately 32% under one-sun ***,photo-enhanced capacitive desalination performance was explored through numerical simulations and theoretical *** calculations and characterizations confirmed that the defect energy levels formed by the introduction of sulfur vacancies can effectively widen the light absorption range,improve photothermal conversion performance,and stimulate more photoelectrons to participate in capacitive ***,the electron distribution state of molybdenum disulfide with sulfur vacancies and surface defect sites contributes to ion/electron transport at the solid-liquid *** work provides a novel pathway for integrating solar vapor generation with other low-energy desalination technologies.

Carbon materials are widely recognized as highly promising electrode materials for various energy storage system *** tar residues(CTR),as a type of carbon-rich solid waste with high value-added utilization,are crucially important for the development of a more sustainable *** this study,we employed a straightforward direct carbonization method within the temperature range of 700-1000℃to convert the worthless solid waste CTR into economically valuable carbon materials as anodes for potassium-ion batteries(PIBs).The effect of carbonization temperature on the microstructure and the potassium ions storage properties of CTR-derived carbons(CTRCs)were systematically explored by structural and morphological characterization,alongside electrochemical performances *** on the co-regulation between the turbine layers,crystal structure,pore structure,functional groups,and electrical conductivity of CTR-derived carbon carbonized at 900℃(CTRC-900H),the electrode material with high reversible capacity of 265.6m Ah·g^(-1)at 50 m A·g^(-1),a desirable cycling stability with 93.8%capacity retention even after 100 cycles,and the remarkable rate performance for PIBs were ***,cyclic voltammetry(CV)at different scan rates and galvanostatic intermittent titration technique(GITT)have been employed to explore the potassium ions storage mechanism and electrochemical kinetics of *** indicate that the electrode behavior is predominantly governed by surface-induced capacitive processes,particularly under high current densities,with the potassium storage mechanism characterized by an“adsorption-weak intercalation”*** work highlights the potential of CTR-based carbon as a promising electrode material category suitable for high-performance PIBs electrodes,while also provides valuable insights into the new avenues for the high value-added utilization of CTR.

Reducing the secondary inflammatory response, which is partly mediated by microglia, is a key focus in the treatment of spinal cord injury. Src homology 2-containing protein tyrosine phosphatase 2(SHP2), encoded by PTPN11, is widely expressed in the human body and plays a role in inflammation through various mechanisms. Therefore, SHP2 is considered a potential target for the treatment of inflammation-related diseases. However, its role in secondary inflammation after spinal cord injury remains unclear. In this study, SHP2 was found to be abundantly expressed in microglia at the site of spinal cord injury. Inhibition of SHP2 expression using siRNA and SHP2 inhibitors attenuated the microglial inflammatory response in an in vitro lipopolysaccharide-induced model of inflammation. Notably, after treatment with SHP2 inhibitors, mice with spinal cord injury exhibited significantly improved hind limb locomotor function and reduced residual urine volume in the bladder. Subsequent in vitro experiments showed that, in microglia stimulated with lipopolysaccharide, inhibiting SHP2 expression promoted M2 polarization and inhibited M1 polarization. Finally, a co-culture experiment was conducted to assess the effect of microglia treated with SHP2 inhibitors on neuronal cells. The results demonstrated that inflammatory factors produced by microglia promoted neuronal apoptosis, while inhibiting SHP2 expression mitigated these effects. Collectively, our findings suggest that SHP2 enhances secondary inflammation and neuronal damage subsequent to spinal cord injury by modulating microglial phenotype. Therefore, inhibiting SHP2 alleviates the inflammatory response in mice with spinal cord injury and promotes functional recovery postinjury.

In this paper,we design and fabricate a Schottky-metal-insulator-semiconductor（MIS） cascode anode GaN lateral field-effect diode（CA-LFED） to achieve ultralow reverse leakage current(ILEAK).The device based on AlGaN/GaN highelectron-mobility-transistor（HEMT） includes a normally-off MIS-controlled channel that is cascoded with a high barrier height Schottky *** reverse bias,the high electric-field is effectively prevented by the normally-off MIS-controlled channel *** with the high barrier height Schottky contact,this feature significantly suppresses the *** by the device fabrication,the CA-LFED with high breakdown voltage（BV）>600 V shows an ultralow ILEAKof 3.6×10-9A/mm as well as a low forward voltage drop（VF） of 2.2 *** performance suggests that the CA-LFED can be a promising candidate for ultralow ILEAKand better VF-ILEAKtrade-off GaN power diode applications.
