Objective:To evaluate the pharmacognostic characters of an important medicinal plant, Holoptelcu integrifolia(***) ***:The pharmacognostic studies were carried out in terms of organoleptic,microscopic,macroscopic and fluorescence ***: The characteristic microscopic features of leaves were observed as trichomes,multicellular trichomes,xylem cells,phloem cells,collenchyma,vascular bundles,spongy parenchyma and palisade *** characteristic microscopic features of root bark.included cork.cambium, primary cortex,phloem fibers,medullary rays,endodermis,pericycle and lignified fibers in the transverse section and longitudinal *** characteristic microscopy of root bark.powder showed the presence of cortex cells,sieve tubes,calcium oxalate crystals and lignified fibers. This study helps to select the length for fuzzy sets in fuzzy time series *** order to examine the effect of intervals and evaluate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm,numerical data of water recharge and discharge are considered to predict water table elevation fluctuation(WTEF).Particle swarm optimization(PSO)is an influential tool to handle optimization of multi-model problems,whereas fuzzy logic can handle *** this paper,adaptive inertia weights are adopted rather than static inertia weights for PSO,which further improves efficiency of *** modified PSO is termed as adaptive particle swarm optimization(APSO).APSO optimizes the intervals and these intervals are further used to generate fuzzy sets for *** results indicate that the APSO performs better than PSO and genetic algorithm approaches for the same problem.

Despite the longstanding importance of silage as a critical feed source for ruminants,its quality improvement has been largely *** numerous quantitative trait loci(QTL)and genes affecting silage quality in maize have been reported,only a few have been effectively incorporated into breeding *** this gap,the present study undertook.a comprehensive meta-QTL(MQTL)analysis involving 523 QTL associated with silage-quality traits collected from 14 published *** the 523 QTL,405 were projected onto a consensus map comprising 62,424 genetic mark.rs,resulting in the identification of 60 MQTL and eight *** average confidence interval(CI)of the MQTL was 3.9-fold smaller than that of the source *** of the 60 identified MQTL were classified as breeder’s MQTL owing to their small CIs,involvement of more QTL,and large contribution to phenotypic ***-third of the MQTL co-localized with DNA mark.r-trait associations identified in previous genomewide association mapping studies.A set of 78 high-confidence candidate genes influencing silage quality were identified in the MQTL *** genes and associated mark.rs may advance mark.r-assisted breeding for maize silage quality.

Catharanthus roseus is the sole source of two most important monoterpene indole alk.loid （MIA） anti- cancer agents： vinblastine and vincristine. MIAs possess a terpene and an indole moiety derived from terpenoid and shik.mate pathways, respectively. Geranyl diphosphate （GPP）, the entry point to the formation of terpene moiety, is a product of the condensation of isopentenyl diphosphate （IPP） and dimethylallyl diphosphate （DMAPP） by GPP synthase （GPPS）. Here, we report three genes encoding proteins with sequence similarity to large subunit （***） and small subunit （***） of heteromeric GPPSs, and a homomeric GPPSs. *** is a bifunctional enzyme producing both GPP and geranyl geranyl diphosphate （GGPP）, *** is inactive, whereas CrGPPS is a homomeric enzyme forming GPP. Co-expression of both subunits in Escherichia coil resulted in heteromeric enzyme with enhanced activity producing only GPR While *** and CrGPPS showed higher expression in older and younger leaves, respectively, *** showed an increasing trend and decreased gradually. Methyl jasmonate （MelA） treatment of leaves sig- nificantly induced the expression of only ***. GFP localization indicated that *** is plastidial whereas CrGPPS is mitochondrial. Transient overexpression of *** in C. roseus leaves resulted in increased vindoline, immediate monomeric precursor of vinblastine and vincristine. Although C. roseus has both heteromeric and homomeric GPPS enzymes, our results implicate the involvement of only heteromeric GPPS with *** regulating the GPP flux for MIA biosynthesis.

Genome-Wide Comparative in silico Analysis of Calcium Transporters of Rice and Sorghum

The mechanism of calcium uptak., translocation and accumulation in Poaceae has not yet been fully understood. To address this issue, we conducted genome-wide comparative in silico analysis of the calcium （Ca2＋） transporter gene family of two crop species, rice and sorghum. Gene annotation, identification of upstream cis-acting ele- ments, phylogenetic tree construction and syntenic mapping of the gene family were performed using several bio- informatics tools. A total of 31 Ca2＋ transporters, distributed on 9 out of 12 chromosomes, were predicted from rice genome, while 28 Ca2＋ transporters predicted from sorghum are distributed on all the chromosomes except chromosome 10 （Chr 10）. Interestingly, most of the genes on Chr 1 and Chr 3 show an inverse syntenic relation- ship between rice and sorghum. Multiple sequence alignment and motif analysis of these transporter proteins re- vealed high conservation between the two species. Phylogenetic tree could very well identify the subclasses of channels, ATPases and exchangers among the gene family. The in silico c/s-regulatory element analysis suggested diverse functions associated with light, stress and hormone responsiveness as well as endosperm- and meris- tem-specific gene expression. Further experiments are warranted to validate the in silico analysis of the predicted transporter gene family and elucidate the functions of Ca2＋ transporters in various biological processes.

Objective:To present a detailed pharmacognostic study of the leaf of Cayratia trifolia(***)Linn.(Vitaceae),an important plant in the Indian system of ***:The macroscopy,microscopy,physiochemical analysis,preliminary testing,fluorescence analysis of powder of the plant and other WHO recommended methods for standardization were ***:Leaves are trifoliolated with petioles(2-3 cm)*** are ovate to oblong-ovate,(2-8 cm)long,(1.5-5 cm)wide,pointed at the *** leaf surface shows the anisocytic type stomata covered with guard cells followed by epidermis *** surface contents including *** islet and vein termination were also *** section of leaf shows the epidermis layer followed by cuticle layer and vascular bandies(xylem and phloem).The mesophyll is differentiated into palisade and spongy *** covering trichomes emerge from the upper *** are uniseriate and *** of collenchyma are present below and upper layer of ***:It can be concluded that the pharmacognostic profile of the *** is helpful in developing standards for quality,purity and sample identification.

Detailed mineralogical, bulk.rock.geochemical and Sr-Nd isotopic data for the recently discovered Ahobil k.mberlite(Pipe-16) from the Wajrak.rur k.mberlite field(Wk.), Eastern Dharwar craton(EDC),southern India, are presented. Two generations of compositionally distinct olivine, Ti-poor phlogopite showing orangeitic evolutionary trends, spinel displaying magmatic trend-1, abundant perovsk.te, Tirich hydrogarnet, calcite and serpentine are the various mineral constituents. On the basis of(i) liquidus mineral composition,(ii) bulk.rock.chemistry, and(iii) Sr-Nd isotopic composition, we show that Ahobil k.mberlite shares several characteristic features of archetypal k.mberlites than orangeites and lamproites. Geochemical modelling indicate Ahobil k.mberlite magma derivation from small-degree melting of a carbonated peridotite source having higher Gd/Yb and lower La/Sm in contrast to those of orangeites from the Eastern Dharwar and Bastar cratons of Indian shield. The T_(Dm) Nd model age(～2.0 Ga) of the Ahobil k.mberlite is(i) significantly older than those(1.5～1.3 Ga) reported for Wajrak.rur and Narayanpet k.mberlites of EDC,(ii) indistinguishable from those of the Mesoproterozoic EDC lamproites,and(iii) strik.ngly coincides with the timing of the amalgamation of the Columbia supercontinent. High bulk.rock.Fe-Ti contents and wide variation in oxygen fugacity fO_2, as inferred from perovsk.te oxybarometry, suggest non-prospective nature of the Ahobil k.mberlite for diamond.
