The use of topology optimization in structural design under dynamic excitation is becoming more prevalent in the *** many such applications utilize frequency or time domain formulations,relatively few consider stochastic dynamic *** paper presents an efficient and compact code called TopSTO for structural topology optimization considering stationary stochastic dynamic loading using a method derived from random vibration *** theory,described in conjunction with the implementation in the provided code,is illustrated for a seismically excited *** work demonstrates the efficiency of the approach in terms of both the computational resources and minimal amount of code *** code is intended to serve as a baseline for understanding the theory and implementation of this topology optimization approach and as a foundation for additional applications and developments.

We define a generalization of Mackey first countability and prove that it is equivalent to being docile. A consequence of the main result is to give a partial affirmative answer to an old question of Mackey regarding arbitrary quotients of Mackey first countable spaces. Some applications of the main result to spaces such as inductive limits are also given.

AIM: To report the long-term outcomes of combined excisional goniotomy and manual small incision cataract surgery(MSICS).METHODS: This is a retrospective case series of patients with open angle glaucoma and visually significant cataracts that underwent combined excisional goniotomy and MSICS with one-year follow-up. The medical history, demographic information, and clinical characteristics of each case were recorded. Data regarding changes in vision, intraocular pressure(IOP), the number of glaucoma medications, and the evolution of the disease after surgery were reported. RESULTS: Three patients, with open angle glaucoma and cataracts underwent combined excisional goniotomy and MSICS without adverse events. All patients had improvement in vision compared to baseline measurements. The range of IOP at baseline was from 14 to 18 mm Hg and decrease to a range of 10 to 14 mm Hg after one year of follow-up. Additionally, two patients also decreased their dependence on IOP-lowering medications at the last follow up visit with one patient maintaining baseline level of medication ***: A combination of excisional goniotomy and MSICS illustrates both the safety and efficacy to treat patients with visually significant cataract and glaucoma. This procedure allows for a more cost-effective surgical approach that matches the needs of resource strained territories around the globe.

Electrochemically engineered titania(TiO_(2))nanopores enable tailored cellular function;however,the cellular mechanosensing mechanisms dictating the cell response and soft tissue integration are yet to be ***,we report the fabrication of anisotropic TiO_(2)nanopores with diameters of 46 and 66 nm on microrough titanium(Ti)via electrochemical anodization,towards short-and long-term guidance of human primary gingival fibroblasts(hGFs).Cells on tissue culture plates and bare Ti substrates were used as ***,we show that nanopores with a diameter of 66 nm induced more mature focal adhesions of vinculin and paxillin at the membrane,encouraged the development of actin fibers at focal adhesion sites,led to elongated cell and nuclear *** topographical-driven changes were attributed to the Ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1(Rac 1)GTPase pathway and nuclear localisation of LAMIN A/C and yes-associated protein(YAP)and associated with increased ligament differentiation with elevated expression of the ligament marker Mohawk homeobox(MKX).Study findings reveal that minor tuning of nanopore diameter is a powerful tool to explore intracellular and nuclear mechanotransduction and gain insight into the relationships between nanomaterials and mechanoresponsive cellular elements.

Yogyakarta is one of the large cities in Central Java,located on Java Island,*** city,and the Pleret sub-district,where the study has taken place,is prone to earthquake hazards,because it is close to several seismically active zones,such as the Sunda Megathrust and the active fault known as the Opak *** a devastating earthquake of 2006,the population of the Pleret sub-district has increased ***,the housing demand has increased,and so is the pace of low-cost housing that does not meet earthquake-safety requirements,and furthermore are often located on unstable *** local alluvial material covering a jigsaw of unstable blocks and complex slope is conditions that can amplify the negative impacts of *** this context,this study is aiming to assess the multi-hazards and risks of earthquakes and related secondary hazards such as ground liquefaction,and coseismic *** achieve this,we used geographic information systems and remote sensing methods supplemented with outcrop study and existing seismic data to derive shear-strain *** results have revealed the presence of numerous uncharted active faults with movements visible from imagery and *** that the middle part of the study area has a complex geological structure,indicated by many unchartered faults in the *** this newly mapped blocks combined with shear strain data,we reassessed the collapse probability of buildings that reach level>0.75 near the Opak River,in central Pleret *** the buildings and from population distribution,we could determine that the highest risk was during nighttime as the buildings susceptible to fall are predominantly housing *** secondary hazards follow a slightly different distribution with a concentration of risks in the West.

Objective:The aim of this paper was to analyse the etiologic,clinical,and therapeutic characteristics of the ischemic stroke in the comarca of Poniente,Almeria,***:An observational descriptive study was carried out from June 2005 to June 2006 in the Hospital of *** studied 243 patients admitted to Internal Medicine Department diag-nosed with ischemic *** revised the clinical histories of patients using social,demographic,clinical,diagnostic,and therapeutic variables.A descriptive analysis of the variables was performed using SPSS V10.1 ***:A total of 172 patients(70.7%)were admitted to *** time course of the stroke episode was less than 6 hours(40.6%);mean age of patients 73 years(50% males);94% were autochthonous workers,6% immigrants,72% hypertensive,and 35% had a history of previous *** most common symptom was dysarthria(59%);brain CAT scan was performed in all of them within 6 hours after stroke onset,and antiplatelet drugs were given within 48 hours after stroke *** 30% of the patients received early rehabilitation,12% died within the first ***:We found clinical and epidemiologic characteristics similar to those reported in the literature;we found a lower incidence of CVD and a higher time course than the national average.

The shale gas revolution and the carbon-neutrality goal are motivating the landscape toward the synthesis of value-added chemicals or fuels from underutilized ethane with the assistance of greenhouse gas CO_(2).Combining ethane aromatization with CO_(2)reduction offers an opportunity to directly produce liquid products for facile separation,storage,and *** the present work,Fe/ZSM-5 catalysts showed promise in the simultaneous CO_(2)reduction and ethane aromatization at atmospheric pressure and 873 *** catalysts were further investigated using X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-ray absorption fine structure(XAFS)measurements under in-situ conditions,indicating that most of Fe species existed in the form of Fe oxides and a portion of Fe was incorporated into the ZSM-5 framework generating Lewis acid *** types of Fe species remained almost unchanged under reaction conditions,contributing to an enhanced aromatization activity of Fe/*** effects of CO_(2)and steam on the acid sites and in turn aromatization activity were also investigated by transient studies,which exhibited a reversible modification ***,CO_(2)was identified to be critical to enhance coke resistance and in turn catalyst *** work highlights the feasibility of using CO_(2)to assist the upgrading of abundant ethane from shale gas to aromatics over non-precious Fe-based zeolite catalysts.

The potential for the positive manipulation of the gut microbiome through the introduction of beneficial microbes, as also known as probiotics, is currently an active area of investigation. The FAO/WHO define probiotics as live microorganisms that confer a health benefit to the host when administered in adequate amounts. However, dead bacteria and bacterial molecular components may also exhibit probiotic properties. The results of clinical studies have demonstrated the clinical potential of probiotics in many pathologies, such as allergic diseases, diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease and viral infection. Several mechanisms have been proposed to explain the beneficial effects of probiotics, most of which involve gene expression regulation in specific tissues, particularly the intestine and liver. Therefore, the modulation of gene expression mediated by probiotics is an important issue that warrants further investigation. In the present paper, we performed a systematic review of the probiotic-mediated modulation of gene expression that is associated with the immune system and inflammation. Between January 1990 to February 2014, PubMed was searched for articles that were published in English using the MeSH terms “probiotics' and 'gene expression' combined with “intestines', 'liver', 'enterocytes', 'antigen-presenting cells', 'dendritic cells', 'immune system', and 'inflammation'. Two hundred and five original articles matching these criteria were initially selected, although only those articles that included specific gene expression results (77) were later considered for this review and separated into three major topics: the regulation of immunity and inflammatory gene expression in the gut, in inflammatory diseases of the gut and in the liver. Particular strains of Bifidobacteria, Lactobacilli, Escherichia coli, Propionibacterium, Bacillus and Saccharomyces influence the gene expression of mucins, Toll-like receptors, caspases, nuclear factor-κ

Multivariate time series with missing values are common in a wide range of applications,including energy *** imputation methods often fail to focus on the temporal dynamics and the cross-dimensional correlation *** this paper we propose a two-step method based on an attention model to impute missing values in multivariate energy time ***,the underlying distribution of the missing values in the data is *** information is then further used to train an attention based imputation *** learning the distribution prior to the imputation process,the model can respond flexibly to the specific characteristics of the underlying *** developed model is applied to European energy data,obtained from the European Network of Transmission System Operators for *** different evaluation metrics and benchmarks,the conducted experiments show that the proposed model is preferable to the benchmarks and is able to accurately impute missing values.
