Assessment of Satisfaction in the Reception and Emergency Department of a Health Center

Introduction The main objective of any healthcare establishment must be to ensure the quality of patient care and customer satisfaction. It is necessary to regularly assess patient satisfaction. The aim of this study was to assess the level of satisfaction of customers aged over 18 years attending the emergency department of the health center. Methodology This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study of patients aged 18 years and over, who attended the Samu Municipal emergency department between 02 and 30 May 2023. The satisfaction index was determined using the adapted 2009 SAPHORA-MCO questionnaire and the Likert satisfaction scale. Results A total of 400 patients were surveyed. The average age was 35 years, with a standard deviation of 14.7. Of those surveyed, 51% were women, 87% were educated, 50% lived in Grand Yoff and 59.5% were unemployed. Satisfaction levels linked to perception of the cost of care (72%), waiting time (64.3%), information given to patients (69.1%) and pain management (74 .5%) are fair. On the other hand, the levels of satisfaction linked to administrative procedures (82.5%), staff attitudes towards patients (84%), staff availability (86.4%), patient privacy (89.2%), general atmosphere (87.2%), staff competence (87.3%), and the effectiveness of care (89.4%) were satisfactory. The average waiting time was 38 minutes. However, 32% of patients waited less than 30 minutes and 92% less than an hour. The satisfaction index linked to administration and reception was 72.9% and 79.85%, respectively. The satisfaction index linked to the administration and technical quality of care is equal to 85.8% and 83.7%, respectively. The overall satisfaction index is equal to 80.6%;the level of satisfaction of users of the health structure is satisfactory. Conclusion Patient satisfaction is an essential part of quality care. Introduction: Rabies is a serious disease, as it is always fatal, but it can be prevented by sero-vaccination. It is a neglected tropical disease endemic in Asia and Africa. The aim of this study was to assess knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding rabies and to determine the factors associated with them among people aged 18 and over in the commune of Niakhène. Methods: This was a cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical survey of subjects aged 18 and over living in the commune of Niakhène. A sample of 300 individuals was drawn from a two-stage cluster survey stratified by age and sex. Bivariate analysis was performed using association tests. Results: The mean age of respondents was 35.3 ± 16.9 years. It was noted that 67% (201) of respondents had a good knowledge of rabies. The results showed that 7.3% (22) of respondents owned a dog. Of the 278 people who did not own a dog, 78.4% (218) said they would have vaccinated their dog if they had had one. It should be noted that 83.7% (251) of respondents said they would go to a health facility if an animal bit them. None of the dog owners had vaccinated their dogs against rabies. Of the 41 people exposed to rabies, 39% went to a health facility. The age and education of the respondents had statistically significant associations with knowledge of rabies. Respondents’ age and education were statistically significantly related to whether they had vaccinated a domestic dog. The age, education and economic well-being quintile of respondents’ households had statistically significant associations with the use of a health facility in the event of being bitten or scratched by an animal vector. The education of respondents who had been bitten by an animal vector was statistically significantly associated with the use of a health facility. Introduction: Over the past years, efforts have been made to expand access to antiretroviral combinations (cART) in low-income countries. However, major concerns are noted with drug resistance emergence, as treatment failure result and need to introduce a second line treatment, more expensive and difficult to implement. The objective was to study the incidence of switch to second line, reasons for switch and risk factors using a cohort of people living with HIV in an Ambulatory Treatment Center in Dakar. Methodology: This was a cohort study of people living with HIV under cART from January 2004 to December 2013. Naive patients monitored for at least six months, regardless of their profile and regimen with baseline CD4 counts Results: The median age of the 827 patients included was 44 [IQR = 18 - 78]. The switch to second-line treatment was observed in 72 patients (8.7%) after an average of 38.5 months of follow-up. The overall incidence rate of switch to second line of antiretroviral treatment was 1.59 per 100 persons-years. Most of changes in first-line treatment were motivated by virological failures (n = 60, 83.3%) under treatment with AZT/3TC/NVP (n = 25, 34.7%) or AZT/3TC/EFV21 (29.2%). 9.7% of switch occurred after immunological failure, 1.4% after clinical failure, 4.2% after severe toxicity and 1.4% was not documented. Predictive factors identifying failures at the end of the multivariate analysis were age Conclusions: In total, CTA identified a low incidence rate of treatment failure of the first line of treatment. Associated risk factors were age 3 and high viral load at treatment initiation.

The pulp and paper industry converts roundwood and recycled fibre,collected from wastepaper into printing and writing papers,and other specialty grades of *** pulp and paper mills in Ontario have been facing extreme competitive pressures,which have affected their performance leading to several mill *** purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the relative performance of three types of Ontario’s pulp and paper mills(using all fibre,only roundwood fibre,and only recycled fibre).This study uses bootstrap data envelopment analysis in analyzing and comparing the operational efficiency of the Ontario’s pulp and paper mills,with 224 sample data observations over a period of 17 *** results indicate low levels of overall technical and managerial efficiencies in the pulp and paper mills using recycled *** results of the study highlight that the pulp and paper industry needs to divert their attention to streamlining the manufacturing processes,reducing costs,improving raw material usage,and making capital investments in the new and improved technology,in order to improve the operational efficiency and competitiveness of the Ontario’s pulp and paper *** pulp and paper mills using recycled fibre require huge capital investments,especially for installing the latest de-inking *** results of this study provide policy makers with detailed performance analysis so that future input resources can be reallocated to improve the performance of the pulp and paper mills in Ontario.

The aims of this study were(1)to define speed and acceleration thresholds from youth match activity of soccer players and(2)to analyze the activity performed by young soccer players during a match using GPS devices and according to these *** U11 soccer players from a professional club participated in a 7-sided match being equipped with global positioning system(GPS)devices(sampling frequency 5 Hz)to measure the speed of each *** Kernel Density Esti-mate(KDE)was used to observe the occurrences of *** range of velocities was described by a distribution curve,from which the speed and acceleration thresholds for each category of movement were defined and time–motion analysis of the match was *** model with 4 Gaussian laws was the best when using the Akaike Information Criterion(AIC).In this study,the thresholds defined for each category of movement were:standing(<0.1 km/h),walking(0.1–5.6 km/h),slow running(5.7–7.7 km/h),fast running(7.8–12.7 km/h)and sprint(≥12.8 km/h).Acceleration thresholds were calculated to define movement considered as a sprint for each category of movement:standing(0.3 m/s^(2)),walking(0.66 m/s^(2)),slow running(1.01 m/s^(2))or fast running(0.97 m/s^(2)).All the acceleration thresholds were significantly different from each other(P<0.001)with large effect sizes,excepting the comparison between slow and fast running(P=0.41)with a small effect *** U-11 soccer players,time–motion analysis may be performed according to five categories of *** study has also defined sprint and acceleration thresholds for this category of age.

This paper presents important fundamentals associated with water and energy efficiency and highlights the importance of using renewable energy sources. A model of multi-criteria optimization for energy efficiency based on water and environmental management policies, including the preservation of water resources and the control of water pressure and energy consumption through a hybrid energy solution, was developed and applied to a water supply system. The methodology developed includes three solutions：（1） the use of a water turbine in pipe systems where pressures are higher than necessary and pressure-reducing valves are installed, （2） the optimization of pumping operation according to the electricity tariff and water demand, and （3） the use of other renewable energy sources, including a wind turbine, to supply energy to the pumping station, with the remaining energy being sold to the national electric grid. The use of an integrated solution （water and energy-） proves to be a valuable input for creating benefits from available hydro energy in the water supply system in order to produce clean power, and the use of a wind source allows for the reduction of energy consumption in pumping stations, as well as of the CO2 emission to the atmosphere.
