Aim:To investigate whether corticosteroids are effective in the treatment of plas-tic bronchitis with ***:A retrospective,clinical study *** two patients with only first episodes of plastic bronchitis withhemoptysis were divided into a steroid group(n=18)treated with glucocorticoids,and a non-steroid group(n=14).The supportive therapy was uniformly applied toboth groups,except for *** such as temperature and whiteblood cell counts were ***,the volume of hemoptysis andbronchial casts were evaluated in detail ***:There was no difference inthe demographic data and variables at baseline between both groups(all P>0.05).On days 5,6,7 and 8,the volume of hemoptysis was significantly decreased in thesteroid group compared with the non-steroid group(43±15 mL vs 117±33 mL ond 5,29±12 mL vs 97±23 mL on d 6,18±10mL vs 80±20 mL on d 7,and 13±8 mLvs 66±14 mL on d 8;all P<0.05),and on d 10 after fibreoptic bronchoscopy,thecases with bronchial casts was reduced evidently in the steroid group in compari-son with the non-steroid group(OR=5.69,95% CI=1.76-43.6;P=0.005).There wasno significance in mechanical ventilation and mortality between both ***:Despite some limitations of this study,it has been demonstratedthat,on the basis of common supportive therapy,corticosteroids would be effec-tive and safe for the treatment of plastic bronchitis with hemoptysis.

Hypoxia inducible transcription factor (HIF)-1α plays an important role in the development ofhypoxic pulmonary hypertension,but little is known about HIF-2α and HIF-3α with respect to transcriptionalregulation by *** examine the expression patterns of all HIF-α subunits (HIF-α,HIF-2α andHIF-3α) in pulmonary arteries of rats undergoing systemic hypoxia,five groups of healthy male Wistarrats were exposed to normoxia (N) and hypoxia for 3 (H),7 (H),14 (Hand 21 (*** arterial pressure (mPAP),vessel morphometry and right ventricular hypertrophy index *** were inflation fixed for immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization,and homogenizedfor Western blot. mPAP increased significantly after 7 d of hypoxia [(18.4±0.4) vs. (14.4±0.4) mmHg,Hvs.N],reached its peak after 14 d of hypoxia,then remained *** artery remodeling and rightventricular hypertrophy developed significantly after 14 d of *** normoxia,HIF-1α and HIF-3αstaining were slightly positive regarding mRNA levels.A substantial alteration of HIF-1α and HIF-3α stainingoccurred in puhnonary arteries after 14 d and 7 d of hypoxia,respectively,but HIF-2α staining showed aninversed trend after 14 d of *** levels of all HIF-α subunits except HIF-3α showed a markedincrease corresponding to the duration of hypoxia,which was obtained by Western *** study foundthat HIF-1α. 神经重症患者中枢神经系统感染治疗难度大、病死率高,多重耐药革兰阴性杆菌感染占比逐年升高。多黏菌素是治疗多重耐药革兰阴性杆菌的有效药物,但其血脑屏障通过率低,静脉给药难以达到有效的药物浓度,脑室内或鞘内给药等局部应用的方式近年来越来越多地被临床采用,但缺乏相关的规范化操作指引,故本共识专家委员会围绕多黏菌素局部应用治疗中枢神经系统感染的适应证、用法用量、治疗途径等问题进行反复讨论,形成14条共识推荐意见,以期为多黏菌素中枢神经系统局部应用提供科学和切实可行的临床指导。

Aim:This study was designed to investigate whether the activation of thephosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3-K)/Akt pathway is required for thermal pre-conditioning to protect rat cerebellar granule neurons(CGN)against apoptosisinduced by low potassium,and to explore the possibility of a link between theupregulated heat shock protein(HSP)70 expression and Akt activation in theacquisition of neuroprotection induced by thermal ***:CGN cultured for 8 d in vitro were switched to 5K medium for 24 h after thermalpreconditioning(TP;43.5 ℃ for 90 min,then 37 ℃ for 1 h).To study the role of thePI3-K/Akt pathway,a PI3-K inhibitor,LY294002(20 μmol/L)was added into thecultures 1 h before TP.3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bro-mide(MTT)assay and fluorescein diacetate staining were used to determine *** 33258 staining and agar gel electrophoresis were used to testthe morphological and biological characters of *** blot analysis wasemployed to detect the levels of phospho-Akt,phospho-glycogen synthase ki-nase 3β(GSK3β) Akt,GSK3β,and ***:TP protected CGN againstapoptosis induced by low ***294002 inhibited the neuroprotectiveeffect on CGN induced by *** induced a robust activation of Akt and theinactivation of GSK3β via ***,the activation of the PI3-K/Aktpathway by TP persisted for 24 h in the 5K ***294002(20 μmol/L)failedto inhibit the upregulated HSP70 expression induced by ***:Theactivation of the PI3-K/Akt pathway is required for TP to protect CGN againstapoptosis induced by low potassium,but the neuroprotective effect by Akt acti-vation is not mediated through the downstream induction of HSP70 expression.

Isoflurane, a commonly used inhaled anesthetic, induces apoptosis in rat pheochromocytoma cells （PC12） in a concentration- and time-dependent manner with unknown mechanism. We hypothesized that isoflurane induced apoptosis by causing abnormal calcium release from the endoplasmic reticulum （ER） via activation of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate （IP3） receptors. Alzheimer＇s presenilin-1 （PS 1） mutation increased activity of IP3 receptors and therefore rendered cells vulnerable to isoflurane-induced cytotoxicity. Sevoflurane and desflurane had less ability to disrupt intracellular calcium homeostasis and thus being less potent pared the cytotoxic effects of various inhaled to cause cytotoxicity. This study examined and com-anesthetics on PC12 cells transfected with the Alzheimer＇s mutated PS 1 （L286V） and the disruption of intracellular calcium homeostasis. PC 12 cells transfected with wild type （WT） and mutated PS 1 （L286V） were treated with equivalent of 1 MAC of isoflurane, sevoflurane and desflurane for 12 h. MTT reduction and LDH release assays were performed to evaluate cell viability. Changes of calcium concentration in cytosolic space （[Ca^2＋]c） were determined after exposing different types of cells to various inhalational anesthetics. The effects of IP3 receptor antagonist xestospongin C on isoflurane-induced cytotoxicity and calcium release from the ER in L286V PC12 cells were also determined. The results showed that isoflurane at 1 MAC for 12 h induced cytoxicity in L286V but not WT PC12 cells, which was also associated with greater and faster elevation of peak [Ca^2＋]c in L286V than in the WT cells. Xestospongin C significantly ameliorated isoflurane cytotoxicity in L286V cells, as well as inhibited the calcium release from the ER in L286V cells. Sevoflurane and desflurane at equivalent exposure to isoflurane did not induce similar cytotoxicity or elevation of peak [Ca^2＋]c in L286V PC 12 cells. AIM: To compare the effects of extract F of red-rooted Salvia (EFRRS) on mucosal lesions of gastric corpus and antrum induced by hemorrhagic shock and reperfusion in rats. METHODS: The rats were subject to hemorrhagic shock and followed by reperfusion, and were divided randomly into two groups. Group 1 received saline, and group 2 received EFRRS intravenously. The index of gastric mucosal lesions (IGML) was expressed as the percentage of lesional area in the corpus or antrum. The degree of gastric mucosal lesions (DGML) was catalogued grade 0,1,2 and 3. The concentrations of prostaglandins (PGs) were measured by radioimmunoassay. The concentration of MDA was measured according to the procedures of Asakawa. The activity of SOD was measured by the biochemical way. The growth rates or inhibitory rates of above-mentioned parameters were calculated. RESULTS: As compared with IGML (%), grade 3 damage (%) and MDA content (nmol/g tissue) of gastric antrum which were respectively 7.96 +/- 0.59, 34.86 +/- 4.96 and 156.98 +/- 16.12, those of gastric corpus which were respectively 23.18 +/- 6.82, 58.44 +/- 9.07 and 230.56 +/- 19.37 increased markedly (P <0.01), whereas the grade 0 damage, grade 1 damage, the concentrations of PGE(2) and PGI(2)(pg/mg tissue), the ratio of PGI(2)/TXA(2) and the activity of SOD (U/g tissue) of corpus which were respectively 3.01 +/- 1.01, 8.35 +/- 1.95, 540.48 +/- 182.78, 714.38 +/- 123.74, 17.38 +/- 5.93 and 134.29 +/- 13.35 were markedly lower than those of antrum which were respectively 13.92 +/- 2.25, 26.78 +/- 6.06, 2218.56 +/- 433.12, 2531.76 +/- 492.35, 43.46 +/- 8.51 and 187.45 +/- 17.67 (P<0.01) after hemorrhagic shock and *** intravenous EFRRS, the growth rates (%) of grade 0 damage, grade 1 damage, the concentrations of PGE(2) and PGI(2), the ratio of PGI(2)/TXA(2) and the activity of SOD of corpus which were respectively 632.56, 308.62, 40.75, 74.75, 92.29 and 122.25 were higher than those in antrum which were respe
