In order to explore the difference of intraocular pressure（IOP） at different points of cornea before and after laser in situ keratomileusis（LASIK）,IOP was measured by Tono-Pen Tonometer at central cornea,pericentral cornea and limbus respectively and analyzed *** LASIK,IOP was dropped significantly at central cornea and pericentral cornea（P〈0.05）,while no statistically significant change occurred at limbus（P〉0.05）.There was no statistically significant difference in IOP at different points before LASIK（F=0.110,P=0.896）,but statistically significant difference was found after LASIK（F=7.375,P=0.001）.It was suggested that reliable IOP after LASIK could be obtained from the limbus by Tono-Pen tonometer.

In this paper,the nonlinear optimization problems with inequality constraints are discussed. Combining the ideas of the strongly sub-feasible directions method and theε-generalized projection technique,a new algorithm starting with an arbitrary initial iteration point for the discussed problems is *** each iteration,the search direction is generated by a new ?-generalized projection explicit formula,and the step length is yielded by a new Armijo line *** some necessary assumptions, not only the algorithm possesses global and strong convergence,but also the iterative points always get into the feasible set after finite ***,some preliminary numerical results are reported.

Global Workspace theory and Global Neuronal Workspace hypothesis are frameworks about the mechanism of the consciousness, which argued that it is the global workspace that makes awareness. These two theories ignored an important fact that the content of consciousness is not only from the instant sensory input, but also from the inward mind representation. The existence of the default mode network of brain indicates that without the sensory input from instant environment, the brain can carry out organized activities which have intense relationship with inward information processing. This article combines the hypothesis of brain’s default mode network and the classical Global Workspace theory, and put forward an extended theory about global workspace of consciousness.

The effects of severe plastic deformation and heat treatment on the transformation behavior of explosively welded duplex TiNi-TiNi shape memory alloys （SMAs） were investigated by differential scanning calorimeter （DSC） measurements. The explosively welded duplex TiNi-TiNi plate of 0.7 mm thickness was cold-rolled at room temperature to a 60% reduction in thickness and then annealed at different temperatures for different durations. The results showed that low temperature （62.-72.K） heat-treatment led to the crystallization of the amorphous region, and re-crystallization occurred in the specimens annealed at higher temperatures （over 873 K）. Research indicated that the change of martensitic transformation temperature is due to the change of internal stresses with increasing heat treatment temperature. The change of annealing time also led to a change in martensitic transformation temperature, which was associated with the precipitation and decomposition of Ti3Ni4 in TiNi-1.

VERY little is known about the roles of microorganisms in the metallogeny of weathering crust REE deposits, although there has been much literature on REE behavior in weathering conditions. The present note deals with the microorganisms in 4 weathering profiles of an REE deposit and their roles in migration and accumulation of REE in weathering conditions. 1 Cultivation and identification of microorganisms Under strict sterilization, samples were collected from various parts of 4 weathering profiles of granites in a weathering crust REE deposit in South China. The samples were then cultivated for microorganisms with ordinary agars as culture media and then the cultivated microorganisms were dyed and identifiedunder a microscope. This study investigated the role of glucose in the biogenesis of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C).Mouse primary peritoneal macrophages were harvested and maintained in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium(DMEM) containing glucose of various *** cells were divided into 3 groups in terms of different glucose concentrations in the cultures:Control group(5.6 mmol/L glucose),high glucose concentration groups(16.7 mmol/L and 30 mmol/L glucose).ATP-binding cassette transporter A1(ABCA1) mRNA expression in the macrophages was detected by semi-quantitative RT-PCR 2.,48 and 72.h after glucose *** results showed that ABCA1 mRNA expression in the 16.7 mmol/L glucose group was not significantly different from that in the control group at all testing time points(P>0.05 for each).In the 30 mmol/L glucose group,macrophage ABCA1 mRNA expression was not changed significantly at 2. h(P=0.14),but was substantially decreased by 40.4% at 48 h(P=0.009) and by 48.1% at 72.h(P=0.015) as compared with that in the control *** was concluded that ABCA1 is of vital importance for HDL-C *** glucose may hamper HDL-C biogenesis by decreasing ABCA1 expression,which contributes to low HDL-C level in diabetes.

Ti_3Al+Si+Nb alloys containing Ti_5Si_3 have the potential in ductility improvements. In this paper, the fracture mechanism of this alloy is under investigation. Three kinds of alloys in the as rolled condition were prepared for determination of KIC values and calculation of J-resistance curves. The results show that the morphology of Ti_5Si_3 has a great influence on the KIC. values of the alloys and crack growth resistance. The fracture mechanism is controlled by Ti_5Si_3 particles.

Assessment of Left Ventricular Global Twist in Essential Hypertensive Heart by Speckle Tracking Imaging

The left ventricular twist was evaluated by 2.dimensional ultrasound speckle-tracking imaging （STI） in 50 patients with hypertension with normal geometric left ventricle （LV） and 45 normal subjects as control group. The mean value of LV rotation was obtained at each plane Using STI. LV twist and twist velocity were defined as apical rotation/rotation rate relative to the base respectively. To adjust the intersubject differences in heart rates, the time sequence were normalized. The results showed that peak twist developed near the end of systole. Peak LV twist was significantly higher in patients with hypertension than normal controls （P〈0.001）. The diastolic untwisting mainly occurred in early diastole （=38%）. Compared with normal controls, untwisting rate （Untw R） in patients with hypertension was significantly reduced （P〈0.001）, and untwisting half-time （UHT） was significantly delayed （P〈0.05）. This study demonstrated that STI has a potential ability to evaluate the early change of heart function in patients with hypertension by measuring the twist of LV.
