In this paper, we generalize the conception of characteristic function in toric topology and construct many new smooth manifolds by using it. As an application, we classify the Moment-Angle manifolds and the partial quotients manifolds of them over a polygon. In the appendix we give a simple new proof for Orlik-Raymond＇s theorem in terms of characteristic function which gives the classification for quasitoric manifolds of dimension 4.

我们证明了如下结论:任意n维small cover的Lusternik-Schnirelmann畴数等于n;任意2n维toric-流形的Lusternik-Schnirelmann畴数等于n.我们的结果依赖于如下两个事实,一个是不等式cup(M)≤cat(M)≤dim(M)/r,它导致我们去计算cup(M).另一个事实是环面拓扑流形上同调环的明确表示,该表示使得cup(M)的计算变得容易.最后,我们进一步推广了相关结论.

对任意quasitoric-流形,π:M^(2n)→P^(n),其上同调环表示为H^(*)(M^(2n),Z)=Z[F_(1),F_(2),...,F_(m)]/(T_(pn)+J_(pn)),其中F(P)={F_(1),F_(2),…,Fm}是P^(n)中所有余一维面的集合.任取P^(n)的顶点v=F_(i1)∩F_(i2)∩…∩Fin,我们证明了=±1,即[F_(i1)F_(i2)…Fin]是H^(2n)(M^(2n),Z)的生成元.我们进一步利用这一结论讨论quasitoric-流形的刚性问题,并证明如下结论:若f^(*):H^(*)(M_(1)^(2n),Z)→H^(*)(M_(2)^(2n),Z)是一个环同构,则存在一一映射f:Fix(M_(1)^(2n))→Fix(M_(2)^(2n)),这里Fix(M^(2n))是T^(n)-作用在M^(2n)上的不动点.

Experimental Study on Diesel Spray and Flame Asymmetry Characteristics of Dual-Orifice Nozzles for a Medium-Speed Engine

The asymmetry of the multi-orifice spray will cause uneven heat load of the marine diesel engine,thereby affecting its working performance and service ***,an in-depth understanding of the spray and flame characteristics of multi-orifice nozzles will guide the optimization of the nozzle structure,needle design and diesel atomization and combustion *** this reason,four groups of dual-orifice nozzles with different hole diameters(0.1-0.55 mm) and mass flow rates covering the typical marine medium-speed diesel injections are designed and customized,and the constant volume chamber(CVC) with high temperature and pressure is used to simulate the actual in-cylinder working conditions of the diesel engine for the spray visualization *** study the asymmetry of the fuel sprays discharged from a diesel injector,the multi-orifice nozzle is simplified as a dual-orifice nozzle in this *** with X-ray Computed Tomography(CT) imaging technology,the influences of the nozzle internal structure on the spray and flame asymmetry are studied in the constructed supercritical *** is found that the asymmetry of the inlet angle and the equivalent length-diameter ratio is positively correlated with the inconsistency of the dual *** an increase in the injection pressure and nozzle diameter,the asymmetry of the dual spray becomes more pronounced,resulting in greater disparities in the ignition delay times and ignition positions of the two ***,the increase in nozzle diameter also leads to combustion instability,resulting in a flame with a serrated *** the increase of ambient temperature,the proportion of liquid phase in the jet decreases and the relative density of spray front decreases.

Software-defined process-near-memory architecture using 3D hybrid bonding integration

With the unprecedented explosive growing amount of global data, the development of computing chips, which encounter bottlenecks such as power wall and memory wall, cannot satisfy the demanding requirement. This work proposes a software-defined process-near-memory(SDPNM) computing architecture implemented using 3D hybrid bonding *** software-defined chip architecture, featuring spatial computations and dynamic reconfiguration, innovates in a top-down manner to achieve high energy efficiency while maintaining flexibility after fabrication. The process-near-memory integration further advances the SDNPM chip in a bottom-up way to reduce the energy consumption of data movement while improving the bandwidth. Utilizing a relatively mature fabrication and bonding process can result in feasible solutions for both data-intensive and compute-intensive applications including digital signal processing and artificial intelligence. The logic die is fabricated in the SMIC 40 nm process and the DRAM die is fabricated in the PSMC 25 nm process. The hybrid bonding is implemented by XMC. The experimental results show that the energy efficiency of the proposed SDPNM chip is 33.1× better than the state-of-the-art FPGA ranging from 8.2× to 104.1×.

Seawater electrolysis is a promising approach for sustainable energy without relying on precious ***,the large-scale seawater electrolysis is hindered by low catalytic efficiency and severe anode corrosion caused by the harmful *** contrast to the oxygen evolution reaction （OER）and chlorin ion oxidation reaction （ClOR）,glycerol oxidation reaction （GOR） is more thermodynamically and kinetically favorable ***,a Ru doping cobalt phosphide （Ru-CoP2） is proposed as a robust bifunctional electrocatalyst for seawater electrolysis and GOR,for the concurrent productions of hydrogen and value-added *** in situ and ex situ characterization analyses demonstrated that Ru doping featured in the dynamic reconstruction process from Ru-CoP2to Ru-CoOOH,accounting for the superior GOR *** coupling GOR with hydrogen evolution was realized by employing Ru-CoP2as both anode and cathode,requiring only a low voltage of 1.43 V at 100 mA cm-2,which was 250 m V lower than that in alkaline *** work guides the design of bifunctional electrocatalysts for energy-efficient seawater electrolysis coupled with biomass resource upcycling.

Since the release of the first version of the 5th Generation Mobile Networks (5G) standard， Release-15 (Rel-15)， in June 2018， the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) made significant efforts in the field of indoor and outdoor wireless positioning. Notably， Release-16 augmented support for enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and ultra-reliable low-latency communication (uRLLC)， particularly within complex indoor settings. To further meet the diverse application needs of positioning scenarios， the 3GPP standards for Release-17 and Release-18 propose new enhancement measures to continuously provide more accurate positioning services. In this paper， the scholarly discourse on 5G positioning was critically examined， providing a systematic review of the 5G positioning standards as delineated in 3GPP's Release-16 and Release-17， and was extended the discussion to the anticipated enhancements in 5G Release-18， along with their underlying motivations. Through these discussions， this article not only a comprehensive perspective on the current development of 5G positioning technology was provided but also was offered forward-looking analysis and predictions for the evolution of positioning technology in the upcoming 3GPP Release-19 phase. Additionally， it serves as a reference for researchers interested in understanding the development of positioning within the standard framework in the field of 5G indoor positioning， which holds significant meaning for promoting research and application of 5G positioning technology.

Vascular endothelial growth factor and its mimic peptide KLTWQELYQLKYKGI(QK)are widely used as the most potent angiogenic factors for the treatment of multiple ischemic ***,conventional topical drug delivery often results in a burst release of the drug,leading to transient retention(inefficacy)and undesirable diffusion(toxicity)in ***,a drug delivery system that responds to changes in the microenvironment of tissue regeneration and controls vascular endothelial growth factor release is crucial to improve the treatment of ischemic *** metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)is gradually upregulated after cerebral ***,vascular endothelial growth factor mimic peptide QK was self-assembled with MMP-2-cleaved peptide PLGLAG(TIMP)and customizable peptide amphiphilic(PA)molecules to construct nanofiber hydrogel ***-TIMP-QK was found to control the delivery of QK by MMP-2 upregulation after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion and had a similar biological activity with vascular endothelial growth factor in *** results indicated that PA-TIMP-QK promoted neuronal survival,restored local blood circulation,reduced blood-brain barrier permeability,and restored motor *** findings suggest that the self-assembling nanofiber hydrogel PA-TIMP-QK may provide an intelligent drug delivery system that responds to the microenvironment and promotes regeneration and repair after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.

Propagating subduction initiation of the Caroline Plate at the Mussau Trench

New seismic imaging from the Mussau Trench confirms that, under horizontal compression on an oceanic plate boundary, it is within the young and weak oceanic plate that a trench will develop, and it is the young plate, not so long after its birth, that starts to subduct toward the old plate. The Mesozoic Pacific Plate cannot easily bend, under the joint horizontal compression and vertical gravity pull, even with a pre-existing weak zone in place and with a large age offset across the plate boundary. The bending of the Caroline Plate near the northern end of the Mussau Trench started only after a long-time span of trench migration, and/or after a prolonged transition from initial compression to trench development. Highly contrasting trench deformation and sedimentary accretion between two parallel seismic sections support an evident migration of underthrusting or significant longitudinal heterogeneity along the trench. The swift transition from underthrusting to non-thrusting can be explained by a counter-clockwise rotation of the Caroline Plate. That miniature accretionary wedges develop even before the subduction initiates imply strong compression and uplifting before the underthrusting can kick-start. Rotation of the Caroline Plate have been halted as the Mussau Trench is seismically rather quiet and the Lyra Trough to the east shows relaxational extension.
