Effects of Chinese herbal medicine Yiqi Huaju Formula on hypertensive patients with metabolic syndrome:a randomized,placebo-controlled trial

BACKGROUND： Patients with hypertension coupled with metabolic syndrome （MetS） are among the high risk population in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. To reduce the prevalence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, it is essential to appropriately control b^ood pressure together with other cardiovascular risk factors. OBJECTIVE： The current study was designed to investigate the therapeutic effects on blood pressure, blood pressure variability and other cardiovascular risk factors by giving Yiqi Huaju Formula, a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine, in addition to routine treatment to hypertensive patients coupled with MetS. deSIGN, SETTING, PARTICIPANTS AND INTERVENTIONS： A total of 43 patients with hypertension coupled with MetS were recruited into this study. The enrolled patients were randomly divided into the Chinese herbal formula group （anti-hypertensive drugs plus Yiqi Huaju Formula, CHF） and the control group （anti-hypertensive drugs plus placebo）. The CHF group enrolled 22 patients while the control group received 21 cases. Treatments were given for 12 weeks in both groups. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： Parameters examined include 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, body mass index, waist circumference, waist-to-hip ratio, homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance （HOMA-IR）, fasting glycosylated hemoglobin （HbAlc）, fasting plasma glucose, 2-hour postprandial plasma glucose （PPG）, fasting plasma insulin, serum lipid, etc. RESULTS： Compared with the control group, the CHF group had significant improvement （P〈0.01） in anthropometric parameters, FPG, HOMA-IR, blood pressure amplitude, blood pressure variability and blood pressure load. CONCLUSION： This study showed that integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment can achieve better results in controlling blood pressure as well as other cardiovascular risk factors. Several ternary oxides CuCeZrO_(y)(CCZ)were synthesized by a facile grinding method followed by calcination at high temperatures,and used as catalysts for CO oxidation at low *** influences of calcination temperature(400-600℃)on the physicochemical properties of the assynthesized ternary oxides were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis/differential scanning calorimetry(TGA/DSC),X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),Raman,inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry(ICP-OES),N_(2) adsorption,H_(2)-temperature programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)*** results show that the increase in calcination temperature from 400 to 500℃is conducive to the high dispersion of CuOx on catalyst surface and the incorporation of Cu species into the support to form the Cu-Ce-Zr-O solid *** raising of calcination temperature from 500 to 600℃,however,leads to the segregation of Cu species from the solid solution to aggregate on support surface and growth of highly dispersed CuOx *** highest catalytic activity is acquired over the CCZ calcined at 500℃,which can be ascribed to the largest contents of Cu+species and oxygen vacancies owing to the formation of the maximum amount of Cu-Ce-Zr-O solid solution.

Effect of relative humidity on the desulfurization performance of calcium-based desulfurizer

Low desulfurization efficiency impedes the wide application of dry desulfurization technology,which is a low-cost and simple process,and one significant solution is the development and manufacture of high-performance *** this study,firstly,a steam jet mill was used to digest quicklime;then,we utilized numerical simulation to study the flow field distribution and analyze the driving factors of quicklime digestion;and lastly,the desulfurization performance of the desulfurizer was evaluated under different relative *** results show that the desulfurizer prepared via the steam jet mill had better apparent activity than traditional ***,the entire jet flow field of the steam jet mill is in a supersonic and highly turbulent flow state,with high crushing intensity and good particle acceleration *** contact with the nascent surface maximizes the formation of slaked *** experiments demonstrated that the operating time with 100%desulfurization efficiency and the“break-through”time for the desulfurizer prepared via the steam jet mill is longer than that of traditional desulfurizers,and has significant advantages,especially at low flue gas relative *** with traditional desulfurizers,the desulfurizer prepared via steam jet mill expands the range of acceptable flue gas temperature,and the failure temperature is 1.625 times that of traditional *** work breaks through the technical bottleneck of low dry desulfurization efficiency,which is an important step in pushing forward the application of dry desulfurization.

Effect of Al content in molten steel on interaction between MgO-C refractory and SPHC steel

The effect of Al content in molten steel on the interaction between SPHC steel(0.005-0.068 wt.%Al,and 19×10^(-4)-58×10^(-4)wt.%O)and MgO-C refractory(11.63 wt.%C)was ***-metallic inclusions in the steel were examined at various periods(0,5,15,30,45,and 60 min)as well as the MgO-C interface after 60 min of corrosion at 1600℃.The results show that when MgO-C refractory comes into contact with SPHC steel,the refractory interface consists of three layers arranged from the innermost to the outermost,including the original refractory layer,the dense MgO layer,and the iron infiltration *** carbon in the MgO-C refractories and the Al content in the molten steel undergo a reaction with the MgO in the refractories,resulting in an increase in Mg concentration in the *** Al content in the molten steel from 0.005 to 0.068 wt.%causes a spinel layer to appear at the interface,and the disappearance time of Al_(2)O_(3) inclusions in the steel decreases from 60 to 30 min,while the average MgO content in inclusions ***,controlling the Al content in the molten steel and the smelting duration can help regulate the formation of spinel inclusionsinthe steel.

New model of linkage evolution for the transtensional fault systems in the Nanpu Sag of Bohai Bay Basin: Insight from seismic interpretation and analogue modelling

The evolution of faults within the same stress field is frequently influenced by numerous factors,involving the reactivation of pre-existing structures, stress transmission through ductile detachment layers, and the growth, interaction, as well as linkage of new fault segments. This study analyses a complex multi-phase oblique extension fault system in the Nanpu Sag(NPS) of the Bohai Bay Basin(BBB),China. High-resolution three-dimensional(3D) seismic data and analogue modelling indicate that the oblique extensional reactivation of pre-existing structures governs the sequential arrangement of fault segments in the caprock, and they dip synthetically to the reactivated fault at depth. During the NW-SE extension in the Eocene, the predominant movement of the pre-existing fault is strike-slip. Subsequently,during the N-S extension since the Oligocene, inclined at *** the pre-existing fault, forming splay fault segments and ultimately creating large en-echelon arcuate faults linked by relay ramps. Using fault throw-distance(T-D) and laser scanning, we reconstructed the fault evolution model of oblique extension reactivation in the presence of a ductile detachment basement. Our study illustrates that the arcuate faults can be categorized into linear master fault segments controlled by pre-existing structures, bending splay faults in the termination zone, and normal fault segments responding to the regional stress *** interaction between faults occurs among normal faults and strike-slip faults, and the kinematic unification of the two fault systems is accomplished in the intersection zone. As the faults continue to evolve, the new fault segments tend to relinquish the control of pre-existing structures and concentrate more on the development of planar and continuous major faults. The ductile detachment layer significantly contributes to the uniform distribution of strain, resulting in narrow shear zones and discontinuous normal faults in its absence.

Wettability and corrosion behavior between alkaline slag from sodium smelting of vanadium-titanium magnetite and refractory substrates
