Moment Redistribution Effect of the Continuous Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer-Concrete Composite Slabs Based on Static Loading Experiment

This study aimed to investigate the moment redistribution in continuous glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP)-concrete composite slabs caused by concrete cracking and steel bar yielding in the negative bending moment *** experimental bending moment redistribution test was conducted on continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs,and a calculation method based on the conjugate beam method was *** composite slabs were formed by combining GFRP profiles with a concrete layer and supported on steel beams to create two-span continuous composite slab *** methods,epoxy resin bonding,and stud connection,were used to connect the composite slabs with the steel *** experimental findings showed that the specimen connected with epoxy resin exhibited two moments redistribution phenomena during the loading process:concrete cracking and steel bar yielding at the internal *** contrast,the composite slab connected with steel beams by studs exhibited only one-moment redistribution phenomenon throughout the loading *** the concrete at the internal support cracked,the bending moment decreased in the internal support section and increased in the midspan *** the steel bars yielded,the bending moment further decreased in the internal support section and increased in the mid-span *** GFRP profiles do not experience cracking,there was no significant decrease in the bending moment of the mid-span *** test specimens experienced compressive failure of concrete at the mid-span *** results showed good agreement between the calculated and experimental values of bending moments in the mid-span section and internal support *** proposed model can effectively predict the moment redistribution behavior of continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs.

Traditional von Neumann computing, with physical separation of memory and processing units, cannot satisfy the development of artificial intelligence and cloud computing. Neuromorphic computing, inspired by the human brain, has drawn much ***-optical neuromorphic (AON) devices employ optical signals as information carriers and leverage the neuromorphic functions to implement fast operation speed, low energy consumption, and high bandwidth of neuromorphic computing. Here, we discuss the recent progress in AON devices, including materials, device performance, working mechanisms, and applications. Moreover,the advantages and limitations of AON are presented and discussed. Finally, the perspective of AON devices points out the future research direction of neuromorphic computing.

The effect of the alkali metal cation modification on the aromatization of n-C6 over Pt/ML zeolite catalysts (M=Li. Na. K. Rb) was studied. The results showed that the selectivity for aromati/ation of n-C6 over Pt/MI, increased as the basicity of the alkali cation increased. According to PASCA experiments, dispersed Pt particles were located on the "electron-donation" site of L zeolite XPS measurements further evidenced that a stronger hasicitv of the mouifving canon contributed more electron donation to Pt particles on the surface of 1, zeolite, and shifted the electron binding energy of Pt 4f to lower energies On the other hand, the electron binding energy of Pt 4f in Pt/ML zeolite after reduction was lower than that of Pt0 It is proposed that Pt particles in reduced samples may exist as a Ptδ- state. Moreover, the selectivity for aromatization of aikane was improved since the Ptδ- state was less active to extensive dehvdrogenation of aikane. Background:Disease-modifying therapy is the standard treatment for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS)in *** primary objective of the current analysis was to assess the efficacy and safety of two teriflunomide doses (7mg and 14mg)in the subgroup of Chinese patients with relapsing MS included in the TOWER study. Methods:TOWER was a multicenter,multinational,randomized, double-blind,parallel-group (three groups),placebo-controlled *** subgroup analysis includes 148 Chinese patients randomized to receive either teriflunomide 7mg (n =51), teriflunomide 14mg (n=43),or placebo (n=54). Results:Of the 148patients in the intent-to-treat population, adjusted annualized-relapse rates were 0.63(95% confidence interval [CI]:0.44,0.92)in the placebo group,0.48(95%CI:0.33, 0.70)in the teriflunomide 7mg group,and 0.18(95%CI:0.09,0.36)in the terifltmomide 14mg group;this corresponded to a significant relative risk reduction in the teriflunomide 14mg group versus placebo (-71.2%,P =0.0012).Terifiunomide 14mg also tended to reduce 12-week confirmed disability worsening by 68.1% compared with placebo (hazard ratio:0.319,P =0.1194).There were no differences across all treatment groups in the proportion of patients with treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs;72.2% in the placebo group,74.5%in the teriflunomide 7mg group,and 69.8% in the teriflunomide 14mg group);corresponding proportions for serious adverse events were 11.1%,3.9%,and 11.6%,*** most frequently reported TEAEs with teriflunomide versus placebo were neutropenia,increased alanine aminotransferase,and hair thinning. Conclusions:Teriflunomide was as effective and safe in the Chinese subpopulation as it was in the overall population of patients in the TOWER *** has the potential to meet unmet medical needs for MS patients in China.

Economic effect of China's carbon neutrality target under shared socioeconomic pathways

Economic feasibility is crucial for achieving the carbon neutrality target. However, current integrated assessments often underestimate the economic impacts of mitigation policies due to the lack of consideration of their economic benefits. This study integrates a warming-labour productivity model with a typical integrated assessment model using shared socioeconomic pathways. It simulates China's economic development and carbon emission levels under both baseline and carbon-neutral policy scenarios, evaluating the economic costs and benefits of emission reduction policies aimed at achieving carbon neutrality. These findings reveal the following:(1) The economic costs of emission reduction policies are projected to peak between 2050 and 2060, ranging from 0.41% to 9.37% of total GDP in the baseline scenario, primarily due to increased energy prices and R&D investments. These costs are expected to decline rapidly after 2070.(2) China's carbon-neutral policies will mitigate global warming, with the economic benefits of mitigation projected to reach 5.65% to 17.24% of China's total GDP by 2100.(3) Lowcarbon scenarios SSP1 and SSP4 could significantly reduce initial economic costs and advance the onset of net economic gains to 2060. This integrated assessment confirms that China's carbon neutrality target offers substantial net economic benefits in the long term. To minimize initial economic costs, efforts should focus on enhancing consumption-side transitions, upgrading lowcarbon technologies, and adopting new energy sources.

Tectonic modes of mantle convection and their implications for Earth's tectonic evolution based on three-dimensional numerical simulations

Five tectonic modes of mantle convection are obtained and analyzed with three-dimensional numerical models in a spherical shell domain. The five tectonic convective modes are non-plate mobile-lid, plate-like mobile-lid, episodic plate-like mobile-lid, episodic stagnant-lid, and stagnant-lid convective modes, respectively. The typical characteristics of these five tectonic modes and their numerical classification criteria based on plateness, mobility, and their standard deviations are presented and discussed. The results show that the yield stress of the lithosphere has profound effects on the tectonic convective *** the gradual increase of yield stress, the tectonic mode of mantle convection changes from one to another sequentially through the aforementioned five modes. Additionally, as the Rayleigh number increases, the range of yield stress for the platelike mobile-lid convective mode decreases, and the dimensionless transition stress between different tectonic modes ***, the dimensional transition stress between the non-plate mobile-lid convective mode and plate-like mobile-lid convective mode increases with the increase of Rayleigh number, but decreases between other tectonic modes. Furthermore, we find that the transition stress between different tectonic modes is inversely proportional to the internal heating rate, with the transition stress decreasing as the internal heating rate increases. The fitting analysis of the transition stress between tectonic modes shows that Earth's current plate tectonics correspond to a lithospheric yield stress of 150–250 MPa, which aligns with the strength of serpentinized mantle rock determined by experimental petrography. If the Archean mantle was 300°C warmer than it is today, then the Earth was in an episodic stagnant-lid convective mode. Local-contrastive-learning machine with both generalization and adversarial robustness: A statistical physics analysis

Distinct from human cognitive processing, deep neural networks trained by backpropagation can be easily fooled by adversarial examples. To design a semantically meaningful representation learning, we discard backpropagation, and instead, propose a local contrastive learning, where the representations for the inputs bearing the same label shrink(akin to boson) in hidden layers,while those of different labels repel(akin to fermion). This layer-wise learning is local in nature, being biologically plausible.A statistical mechanics analysis shows that the target fermion-pair-distance is a key parameter. Moreover, the application of this local contrastive learning to MNIST benchmark dataset demonstrates that the adversarial vulnerability of standard perceptron can be greatly mitigated by tuning the target distance, i.e., controlling the geometric separation of prototype manifolds.
