In clinical th.rapy,th. amount of antigen administered to ach.eve oral tolerance for allergic diseases is large,and th. cost is a major *** th.s study,we used tobacco plants to develop a large-scale protein production system for allergen-specific immunoth.rapy,and we investigated th. mech.nisms of oral tolerance induced by a transgenic plant-derived *** used plants(tobacco leaves)transgenic for th. Dermatoph.goides pteronyssinus 2(Der p2)antigen to produce Der *** received total protein extract from Der p2 orally once per day over 6 days(days 0–2 and days 6–8).Mice were also sensitized and ch.llenged with.yeast-derived recombinant Der p2(rDer p2),after wh.ch.th. mice were examined for airway h.per-responsiveness and airway *** sensitization and ch.llenge with.rDer p2,mice th.t were fed with.total protein extracted from transgenic plants sh.wed decreases in serum Der p2-specific IgE and IgG1 titers,decreased IL-5 and eotaxin levels in bronch.al alveolar lavage fluid,and eosinoph.l infiltration in th. *** addition,h.per-responsiveness was also decreased in mice th.t were fed with.total protein extracted from transgenic plants,and CD4^(+)CD25^(+)Foxp3^(+) regulatory T cells were significantly increased in mediastinal and mesenteric lymph.***,splenocytes isolated from transgenic plant protein-fed mice exh.bited decreased proliferation and increased IL-10 secretion after stimulation with.rDer *** data h.re suggest th.t allergen-expressing transgenic plants could be used for th.rapeutic purposes for allergic diseases.

Keeping it simple: th. value of an irreducibly simple climate model

Rich.rdson et al. （Sci Bull, 2015. doi：10.1007/ sl1434-015-0806-z） suggest th.t th. irreducibly simple climate model described in Monckton of Brench.ey et al. （Sci Bull 60：122-135, 2015. doi：10.1007/s11434-014- 0699-2） was not validated against observations, relying instead on synth.tic test data based on underestimated global warming, illogical parameter ch.ice and near-in- stantaneous response at odds with.ocean warming and oth.r observations. h.wever, th. simple model, informed by its auth.rs＇ ch.ice of parameters, usually h.ndcasts observed temperature ch.nge more closely th.n th. general-circu- lation models, and finds h.gh.climate sensitivity implausi- ble. With.IPCC＇s ch.ice of parameters, th. model is furth.r validated in th.t it duly replicates IPCC＇s sensitivity interval. Also, fast climate system response is consistent with.near-zero or net-negative temperature feedback. Given th. large uncertainties in th. initial conditions and evolutionary processes determinative of climate sensitivity, subject to obvious caveats a simple sensitivity-focused model need not, and th. present model does not, exh.bit significantly less predictive skill th.n th. general-circula- tion models.

Basslink h.gh.Voltage Direct Current(h.DC)cable and its associated metallic return cable across Bass Strait in South.East *** more th.n 95%of its length.th. cable was directly laid into a wet jetted trench.given th. predominantly soft sediments *** remote video investigations found th.t with.n two years all visible evidence of th. cable and trench.was gone at over a th.rd of th. transects at six deep water sites(32-72 m deep).At oth.r deep water transects th. residual trench.trapped drift material providing h.bitat for th. generally sparsely distributed benth.c *** surveys at both.of th. near sh.re sites(h. north.rn side of th. A Sh.rt-Range Quantitative Precipitation Forecast Algorith. Using Back-Propagation Neural Network Approach

A back-propagation neural network （BPNN） was used to establish.relationsh.ps between th. sh.rtrange （0-3-h. rainfall and th. predictors ranging from extrapolative forecasts of radar reflectivity, satelliteestimated cloud-top temperature, ligh.ning strike rates, and Nested Grid Model （NGM） outputs. Quan- titative precipitation forecasts （QPF） and th. probabilities of categorical precipitation were obtained. Results of th. BPNN algorith. were compared to th. results obtained from th. multiple linear regression algorith. for an independent dataset from th. 1999 warm season over th. continental United States. A sample forecast was made over th. south.astern United States. Results sh.wed th.t th. BPNN categorical rainfall forecasts agreed well with.Stage Ⅲ observations in terms of th. size and sh.pe of th. area of rainfall. Th. BPNN tended to over-forecast th. spatial extent of h.avier rainfall amounts, but th. positioning of th. areas with.rainfall ≥25.4 mm was still generally accurate. It appeared th.t th. BPNN and linear regression approach.s produce forecasts of very similar quality, alth.ugh.in some respects BPNN sligh.ly outperformed th. regression.

Objective:To scrutinize th. definitions of minimal invasive surgical th.rapy(MIST)and to investigate urologists’knowledge,attitudes,and practices for benign prostatic obstruction ***:A 36-item survey was developed with.a Delph. *** on definitions of MIST and attitudes and practices of benign prostatic obstruction surgeries were *** were invited globally to complete th. online *** was ach.eved wh.n more th.n or equal to 70%responses were“agree or strongly agree”and less th.n or equal to 15%responses were“disagree or strongly disagree”(consensus agree),or wh.n more th.n or equal to 70%responses were“disagree or strongly disagree”and less th.n or equal to 15%responses were“agree or strongly agree”(consensus disagree).Results:Th. top th.ee qualities for defining MIST were minimal blood loss(n=466,80.3%),fast post-operative recovery(n=431,74.3%),and sh.rt h.spital stay(n=425,73.3%).Th. top th.ee surgeries th.t were regarded as MIST were Urolift®(n=361,62.2%),Rezum®(n=351,60.5%),and endoscopic enucleation of th. prostate(EEP)(n=332,57.2%).Consensus in th. knowledge section was ach.eved for th. superiority of Urolift®,Rezum®,and iTIND®over transureth.al resection of th. prostate with.regard to blood loss,recovery,day surgery feasibility,and post-operative *** in th. attitudes section was ach.eved for th. superiority of Urolift®,Rezum®,and iTIND®over transureth.al resection of th. prostate with.regard to blood loss,recovery,and day surgery *** on both.sections was ach.eved for EEP as th. option with.th. better symptoms and flow improvement,lower retreatment rate,and better suitable for prostate more th.n 80 ***:Minimal blood loss,fast post-operative recovery,and sh.rt h.spital stay were th. most important qualities for defining ***®,Rezum®,and EEP were regarded as MIST by most urologists.
