For solving minimization problems whose objective function is the sum of two functions without coupled variables and the constrained function is linear, the alternating direction method of multipliers （ADMM） has exhibited its efficiency and its convergence is well understood. When either the involved number of separable functions is more than two, or there is a nonconvex function~ ADMM or its direct extended version may not converge. In this paper, we consider the multi-block *** optimization problems with linear constraints and absence of convexity of the involved component functions. Under the assumption that the associated function satisfies the Kurdyka- Lojasiewicz inequality, we prove that any cluster point of the iterative sequence generated by ADMM is a critical point, under the mild condition that the penalty parameter is sufficiently large. We also present some sufficient conditions guaranteeing the sublinear and linear rate of convergence of the algorithm.

The present study specifically investigates vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) catalytic oxidation for toluene degradation over ceO_(2) *** effects of ultraviolet photocatalytic oxidation (UV-PcO) and ozone catalytic oxidation (OZcO) were manifested in the results of toluene removal and cOx generation,while the combination of UV-PcO andOZcO (UV-OZcO) did not lead to improvement of *** the processes contribute to ozone decomposition,but no obvious synergetic effects of the different processes can be *** analysis results indicated that more toluene was oxidized into by-products,such as benzyl alcohol and benzaldehyde,by UV-OZcO rather than forming *** hydroxyl radical (·OH) and superoxide radical (·O_(2)^(-)) were found in all the processes of the VUV-PcO-OZcO system(combination of VUV photolysis,UV-PcO,OZcO and UV-OZcO processes).In the UV-OZcO process,the formation of hydroxyl radical was promoted,while that of superoxide radical was impeded,resulting in lower mineralization level of *** mechanistic study of toluene degradation over ceO_(2) nanorods in the VUV-PcO-OZcO system revealed that with the formation of·O_(2)^(-)and·OH,toluene is first oxidized to intermediates,followed by further ring–opening reaction and,finally,degradation into cO_(2) and H_(2)***_(2) nanorods function as both ozonation catalyst and photocatalyst,and the redox pair of ce^(3+)and ce^(4+)are interconvertible and can keep a balance.

Water electrolysis is a sustainable approach for hydrogen production by using electricity from clean energy ***,both the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)associated with water electrolysis are kinetically sluggish,leading to low efficiency in corresponding electrolysis *** addition,current electrocatalysts that can catalyze both HER and OER to practical rates require noble metals such as platinum that are low in abundance and high in price,severely limiting *** a result,the development of high-performance and cost-effective non-noble metal electrocatalysts to replace noble ones has *** on this,this review will comprehensively present recent research in the design,synthesis,characterization and performance validation/optimization of non-noble metal HER electrocatalysts and analyze corresponding catalytic ***,several important types of non-noble metal electrocatalysts including zero-dimensional,one-dimensional,two-dimensional and three-dimensional materials are presented with an emphasis on morphology/structure,synergetic interaction between metal and support,catalytic property and HER activity/***,existing technical challenges are summarized and corresponding research directions are proposed toward practical application.

One of the most intriguing questions in eusocial insects is to understand how the overt reproductive conflict in the colony appears limited when queens or kings are senescent or lost because the morphologically similar individuals in the colony are reproductively *** there are some individuals who preferentially differentiate into replacement reproductives or not has received little *** consistent individual behavioral differences(also termed“animal personality”)of individuals from the colony can shape cunningly their task and consequently affect the colony fitness but have been rarely investigated in eusocial ***,we used the termite Reticulitermes labralis to investigate if variations in individual personalities(elusiveness and aggressiveness)may predict which individuals will perform reproductive differentiation within *** observed that when we separately reared elusive and aggressive workers,elusive workers differentiate into reproductives significantly earlier than aggressive *** we reared them together in the proportions 12:3,10:5,and 8:7(aggressive workers:elusive workers),the first reproductives mostly differentiated from the elusive workers,and the reproductives differentiated from the elusive workers significantly earlier than from aggressive ***,we found that the number of workers participating in reproductive differentiation was significantly lower in the groups of both types of workers than in groups containing only elusive *** results demonstrate that the elusiveness trait was a strong predictor of workers’differentiation into replacement reproductives in ***,our results suggest that individual personalities within the insect society could play a key role in resolving the overt reproductive conflict.

calcareous soils are those soils containing layers of carbonate accumulation formed by either secondary accumulation or inheritance of cacO_3 from calcareous parent *** soils are widely distributed in arid,semi-arid and even some humid climate ***,in the chinese Soil Taxonomy(cST,3rd version),the soils that contain large amounts of cacO_3 but do not meet requirements of Aridosols are classified as Hapli-Ustic *** group also includes many non-calcareous soils and those soils strongly affected by secondary carbonate accumulation together with quite dissimilar soils in terms of their morphology and *** study was conducted to determine calcification patterns and calcic processes occurring in representative pedons of calcareous soils in northwestern Henan Province,china and to classify these soils in cST.A calcic subgroup was proposed to add within the Hapli-Ustic cambosols.A diagnostic key was also provided to separate this subgroup from the Typic *** this way the different calcification degrees of soils were better reflected in the classification,which should lead to more uniform interpretive groups for better soil management.

In this paper,we analyze the role of macroeconomic management in developing countries'economic take-off and structural *** argue that developing countries face three leading challenges:market immaturity,lack of a developed financial system,and severe information asymmetry between international investors and domestic *** not properly dealt with,these challenges can lead to macroeconomic volatility and fragility in economic ***,the government must intervene appropriately to address these *** analyzing china s experiences in the era of reform and opening up(1978-2018),we find three important lessons:(i)It is important for the government to facilitate the entry and exit of enterprises in macroeconomic cycles,relying not only on market signals but also on administrative orders and measures of institutional reform;(ii)Financial reforms should be implemented in order to promote financial deepening and channel savings into investment;and(iii)The government should carefully manage capital account liberalization in order to preserve financial stability while promoting foreign investment,international trade,and industrial upgrading.

Using cryogenic laser technology, it is now possible to design and demonstrate lasers that have concomitant high average and peak powers, with near-diffraction-limited beam quality. We refer to these new laser systems as HAPP lasers. In this paper, we review important laser crystal materials properties at cryogenic temperature, with an emphasis on Yb lasers, and discuss the important design considerations, including the laser-induced damage threshold, nonlinear effects and thermal effects. A comprehensive model is presented to describe diode pulsed pumping with arbitrary duration and repetition rate, and is used with the Frantz–Nodvik equation to describe, to first order, the performance of HAPP laser systems. A computer code with representative results is also described.
