Explosion resistance performance of reinforced concrete box girder coated with polyurea:Model test and numerical simulation

To study the anti-explosion protection effect of polyurea coating on reinforced concrete box girder,two segmental girder specimens were made at a scale of 1:3,numbered as G(without polyurea coating)and PCG(with polyurea coating).The failure characteristics and dynamic responses of the specimens were compared through conducting explosion *** reliability of the numerical simulation using LS-DYNA software was verified by the test *** effects of different scaled distances,reinforcement ratios,concrete strengths,coating thicknesses and ranges of polyurea were *** results show that the polyurea coating can effectively enhance the anti-explosion performance of the *** top plate of middle chamber in specimen G forms an elliptical penetrating hole,while that in specimen PCG only shows a very slight local *** peak vertical displacement and residual displacement of PCG decrease by 74.8% and 73.7%,respectively,compared with those of specimen *** the TNT explosion with small equivalent,the polyurea coating has a more significant protective effect on reducing the size of *** the increase of TNT equivalent,the protective effect of polyurea on reducing girder displacement becomes more *** optimal reinforcement ratio,concrete strength,thickness and range of polyurea coating were also drawn.

Inspired by the General Relativity for many decades,experimental physicists and astronomers have a solid dream to detect gravitational waves(GWs)from mergers of black holes,which came true until the excellent performance of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory(LIGO)at hundreds ***-Hz GWs are expected to be radiated by close-binaries of supermassive black holes(CB-SMBHs;defined as those with separations less than^0.1 pc)formed during galaxy mergers and detected through the Pulsar Timing Array(PTA)*** of the writing,there remains no nano-Hz GWs *** for CB-SMBHs is also observationally elusive though there exist a number of possible *** this review,we focus on observational signatures of CB-SMBHs from theoretic expectations,simulations and *** signatures appear in energy distributions of multiwavelength continuum,long term variations of continuum,jet morphology,reverberation delay maps and spectroastrometry of broad emission lines,AGN type transitions between type-1 and type-2(changing-look),and gaseous dynamics of circumbinary disks,*** hundred-Hz GWs from stellar mass black hole binaries,the waveform chirping of nano-Hz GWs is too slow to detect in a reasonable human *** have to resort to electromagnetic observations to measure orbital parameters of CB-SMBHs to test nano-Hz GW *** mapping is a powerful tool for probing kinematics and geometry of ionized gas in the gravitational well of SMBHs(single or binary)and therefore provides a potential way to determine orbital parameters of *** particular,a combination of reverberation mapping with spectroastrometry(realized at the Very Large Telescope Interferometer)will further reinforce this *** Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array(ALMA)and the forthcoming Square Kilometre Array(SKA)are suggested to reveal dynamics of circumbinary disks through molecular emission lines.

New ambient sound absorption material,lightweight isocyanate-based polyimide foam(IBPIF),was fabricated by operable combination between different distinctive acoustic *** structure of IBPIF was facilely and obviously adjusted by increased slurry temperature corresponding to change in distinctive acoustic ***,density of all IBPIF kept at only 12-17 kg/*** increasing slurry temperature from 0℃to 40℃,cell size and window opening rate gradually increased from 553μm to 791μm and from 6.85%to 58.46%,*** this study,IBPIF generated by slurries at 0℃(marked as PIF-2)and 40℃(marked as PIF-6)showed best and distinctive acoustic behavior in 315-800 Hz and 800-6300 Hz regions,*** acoustic behavior study of combined IBPIF prepared by stitching combination between two distinctive acoustic IBPIFs,results showed that only when PIF-6 sheet used as sound receiving surface even though with thickness of only 10 mm could the combined IBPIF possess the best acoustic level in 800-6300 Hz region as ***,acoustic behavior in 315-800 Hz region could be significantly enhanced by increasing thickness of PIF-2 and could reach or close to the best acoustic level.

Water wave energy exhibits great potential toalleviate the global energy crisis. However, harvesting andutilizing wave energy are challenging due to its irregularity,randomness, and low frequency. Triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs) have gained significant attention for harvesting waveenergy with high efficiency. This study presents a novelellipsoidal, pendulum-like TENG integrating both liquid-liquid(L-L) and solid-solid (S-S) triboelectricity (LS-TENG). Thisinnovative design enables continuous wave energy harvestingand self-powered marine environment monitoring under variousconditions, including temperature, humidity, and light intensity. The binary immiscible liquids within the LS-TENG’s innersoft balloon create dynamic, and self-adjustable L-L contact interfaces, significantly increasing the L-L contact area andenhancing L-L contact electrification (CE). The unique self-adaptive, soft S-S contact increases the S-S contact areacompared to traditional hard point contact, better adapting to the irregular movements of waves and promoting efficient S-SCE. The LS-TENG achieves highly efficient wave energy harvesting by coupling L-L and S-S CE. Furthermore, the uniquesoft contact design protects the S-S interfaces from mechanical wear and damage during long-term work. The LS-TENG’snovel structure provides an innovative and effective way for water wave energy harvesting.

Reperfusion following cerebral ischemia causes both structural and functional damage to brain tissue and could aggravate a patient's condition;this phenomenon is known as cerebral ischemia-reperfusion *** studies have elucidated the neuroprotective role of the sirtuin protein family(Sirtuins)in modulating cerebral ischemia-reperfusion ***,the potential of utilizing it as a novel intervention target to influence the prognosis of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury requires additional *** this review,the origin and research progress of Sirtuins are summarized,suggesting the involvement of Sirtuins in diverse mechanisms that affect cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury,including inflammation,oxidative stress,blood-brain barrier damage,apoptosis,pyroptosis,and *** therapeutic avenues related to Sirtuins that may improve the prognosis of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury were also investigated by modulating Sirtuins expression and affecting representative pathways,such as nuclear factor-kappa B signaling,oxidative stress mediated by adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase,and the forkhead box *** review also summarizes the potential of endogenous substances,such as RNA and hormones,drugs,dietary supplements,and emerging therapies that regulate Sirtuins *** review also reveals that regulating Sirtuins mitigates cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury when combined with other risk *** Sirtuins show promise as a potential target for the treatment of cerebral ischemiareperfusion injury,most recent studies are based on rodent models with circadian rhythms that are distinct from those of humans,potentially influencing the efficacy of Sirtuinstargeting drug ***,this review provides new insights into the role of Sirtuins in the pathology and treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Where Do Local Experts Go？ Evaluating User Geo-Topical Similarity for Top-N Place Recommendation

Recent years have witnessed the ever-growing popularity of location-based social network （LBSN） services. Top-N place recommendation, which aims at retrieving N most appealing places for a target user, has thus gained increasing importance. Yet existing solutions to this problem either provide non-personalized recommendations by selecting nearby popular places, or resort to collaborative filtering （CF） by treating each place as an independent item, overlooking the geographical and semantic correlations among places. In this paper, we propose GoTo, a collaborative recommender that provides top-N personalized place recommendation in LBSNs. Compared with existing nlethods, GoTo achieves its effectiveness by exploiting the wisdom of the so-called local experts, namely those who are geographically close and have similar preferences with regard to a certain user. At the core of GoTo lies a novel user similarity measure called geo-topical similarity, which combines geographical and semantic correlations among places for discovering local experts. In specific, the geo-topical similarity uses Gaussian mixtures to model users＇ real-life geographical patterns, and extracts users＇ topical preferences from the attached tags of historically visited places. Extensive experiments on real LBSN datasets show that compared with baseline methods, GoTo can improve the performance of towN place recommendation by up to 50% in terms of accuracy.

Freshwater flux(FWF) is a major forcing that affects the ocean through several processes. The effects of FWF may be represented in ocean modeling as real freshwater flux(RFF) formulations and virtual salt flux(VSF) methods. RFF formulations have been implemented in the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory(GFDL) Modular Ocean Model version 5(MOM5) as a replacement for the non-physical VSF method, which is primarily used in state-of-the-art ocean models. Here, we systematically evaluated the effects of RFF-related processes on the GFDL MOM5-based simulations in the tropical *** the FWF was treated as the natural boundary condition(NBC), it directly decreased the local temperature and the salinity by changing the volume of the top model layer, and it increased the temperature in the eastern Pacific by triggering an eastward Goldsbrough–Stommel circulation in the ***, the heat content induced by the FWF tended to counteract the decreasing effects of the NBC on sea surface temperatures(SSTs) in the western-central tropical Pacific. The relationships between SST perturbations and the FWF representation in ocean modeling are also discussed.

Nucleon properties and structure should be modified by short-range correlations(SRC)among *** analyzing SRC ratio data,we extract the mass of a nucleon in an SRC pair and the expected number of pn-SRC pairs in deuterium,under the assumption that the SRC nucleon mass is universal for different *** nucleon mass of a two-nucleon SRC pair is m_(SRC)=852±18 MeV,and the number of pn-SRC pairs in deuterium is n^(d)_(SRC)=0.021±*** mass deficit of the strongly overlapping nucleon can be explained by the trace anomaly contribution to the mass in QCD or alternatively by the vacuum energy in the MIT bag model.
