High fish predation pressure can trigger"induced defense"in Daphnia species,resulting in phenotypic plasticity in morphology,behavior,or life-history *** molecular mechanisms of defense morphogenesis(e.g.,the tail spine and helmet)in Daphnia remain *** the pres-ent study,the tail spine,helmet,and body of Daphnia galeata under fish and non-fish kairomones conditions were collected for transcriptome analysis.A total of 24 candidate genes related to the morphological defense of *** were identified,including 2 trypsin,one cuticle protein,1 C1qDC protein,and 2 ferritin *** function of the Dagcut gene(*** cuticle protein gene)in relation to tail spine morphology was assessed using RNA interference(RNAi).Compared with the EGFP(Enhanced green fluorescent protein)treatment,after RNAi,the expression levels of the Dagcut gene(*** cuticle protein gene)showed a significant ***,the tail spines of the offspring pro-duced by *** after RNAi of the Dagcut gene appeared curved during the *** whole-mount in situ hybridization,a clear signal site was detected on the tail spine of *** before RNAi which disappeared after *** results suggest that the Dagcut gene may play an important role in tail spine formation of ***,and will provide a theoretical basis for studying the molecular mechanisms of the morpho-logical plasticityin cladocera inthefuture.

Temporal and spatial variations of the phytoplankton assemblage in Lake Chaohu, a large shallow eutrophic lake in China, were studied from September 2002 to August 2003. A total of 191 phytoplankton species was identified, among which Chlorophytes （101） ranked the first, followed by Cyanophytes （46） and Bacillariophytes （28）. On aver- age over the entire lake, the maximum total algal biomass appeared in June （19.70 mg/L） with a minimum （5.05 mg/ L） in November. In terms of annual mean biomass, cyanobacteria contributed 45.43% to total algal biomass, followed by Chlorophytes （27.14%）, and Bacillariophytes （20.6%）. When nitrate （NOs-N） and ammonium （NH4-N） concentrations dropped in spring, fixing-nitrogen cyanobacterium （Anabaena） developed quickly and ranked the first in terms of biomass in summer. It is likely that dominance of zooplanktivorous fish and small crustacean zooplankton favored the development of the inedible filamentous or colony forming cyanobacteria. The persistent dominance of cyanobacteria throughout all seasons may indicate a new tendency of the response of phytoplankton to eutrophication in Lake Chaohu.

Factors hindering the degradation of pharmaceuticals from human urine in an iron-activated persulfate system

This study investigated the degradation of clofibric acid(CFA),bezafibrate(BZF),and sulfamethoxazole(SMX)in synthetic human urine using a novel mesoporous iron powderactivated persulfate system(mFe-PS system),and identified the factors limiting their degradation in synthetic human urine.A kinetic model was established to expose the radical production in various reaction conditions,and experiments were conducted to verify the modeling *** the phosphate-containing mFe-PS system,the 120 min removal efficiency of CFA decreased from 95.1%to 76.6%as the phosphate concentration increased from 0.32 to 6.45 mmol/L,but recovered to 90.5%when phosphate concentration increased to 16.10 mmol/***,the increased concentration of phosphate from 0.32 to 16.10mmol/L reduced the BZF degradation efficacy from 91.5%to 79.0%,whereas SMX removal improved from 37.3%to 62.9%.The m Fe-PS system containing(bi)carbonate,from 4.20 to166.70 mmol/L,reduced CFA and BZF removal efficiencies from 100%to 76.8%and 80.4%,respectively,and SMX from 83.5%to 56.7%within a 120-min reaction *** addition,alkaline conditions(pH≥8.0)inhibited CFA and BZF degradations,while nonacidic pH(pH≥7.0)remarkably inhibited SMX *** of the kinetic model indicated the formation of phosphate(H_(2)PO_(4)^(·)/HPO_(4)^(·-))and/or carbonate radicals(CO_(3)^(·-))could limit pharmaceutical *** transformation products(TPs)of the pharmaceuticals revealed more incompletely oxidized TPs occurred in the phosphate-and(bi)carbonate-containing m Fe-PS systems,and indicated that H_(2)PO_(4)^(·)/HPO_(4)^(·-)mainly degraded pharmaceuticals via a benzene ring-opening reaction while CO_(3)^(·-)preferentially oxidized pharmaceuticals via a hydroxylation reaction.

Recycling of carbon fiber reinforced composites is important for sustainable development and the circular *** the use of dynamic chemistry,developing high-strength recyclable CFRPs remains a major challenge due to the mutual exclusivity between the dynamic and mechanical properties of ***,we developed a high-strength recyclable epoxy resin(HREP)based on dynamic dithioacetal covalent adaptive network using diglycidyl ether bisphenol A(DGEBA),pentaerythritol tetra(3-mercapto-propionate)(PETMP),and vanillin epoxy resin(VEPR).At high temperatures,the exchange reaction of thermally activated dithioacetals accelerated the rearrangement of the network,giving it significant reprocessing ***,HREP exhibited excellent solvent resistance due to the increased cross-linking *** this high-strength recyclable epoxy resin as the matrix and carbon fiber modified with hyperbranched ionic liquids(HBP-AMIM+PF6-)as the reinforcing agent,high performance CFRPs were successfully *** tensile strength,interfacial shear strength(IFSS)and interlaminar shear strength(ILSS)of the optimized formulation(HREP20/CF-HBPPF6)were 1016.1,70.8 and 76.0 MPa,*** addition,the CFRPs demonstrated excellent solvent and acid/*** CFRPs could completely degrade within 24 h in DMSO at 140℃,and the recycled CF still maintained the same tensile strength and ILSS as the original after multiple degradation cycles.

The evolution of territorial space is intrinsically linked to economic growth, societal welfare, and ecological preservation. In the context of escalating spatial conflicts and stringent resource limitations, resource efficiency has emerged as a fundamental pillar for the scientific optimization of territorial space layout. Drawing upon resource efficiency metrics from cities nationwide, this study constructs scenarios for territorial space development and conservation, assesses developmental capacity under varying preferences, and subsequently delineates strategic blueprints using an integrated “point-axis-area” approach. The findings reveal the following:(1) Resource efficiency in China has witnessed a consistent uptick, yet remains modest overall, with marked regional disparities.(2) Throughout the investigation period, developmental capacity has seen progressive enhancement, with a pronounced capacity in scenarios favoring development, radiating axially from urban conglomerates.(3) The layout of pivotal points and developmental axes has transitioned from a “tri-pillar” to a diamond configuration, with the coastal corridor, Harbin-Beijing-Guangzhou corridor, and the corridor along the Yangtze River standing out.(4) Strategic points progressively converge along key axes, whereas dominant regions exhibit clear differentiation on either side of the Hu Huanyong Line. By integrating elements of the territorial spatial structure,this paper proposes blueprints for “five horizontal and three vertical zones with eight cores and three areas,” “four horizontal and three vertical zones with six cores and three areas,”and “three horizontal and four vertical zones with five cores and three areas,” corresponding to scenarios of prioritizing development, status quo maintenance, and prioritizing conservation, respectively. The outcomes of this research offer a technical foundation and theoretical guidance for the pursuit of high-quality territorial space development and a vision

Recycling of carbon fiber reinforced composites is important for sustainable development and the circular economy. Despite the use of dynamic chemistry, developing high-strength recyclable CFRPs remains a major challenge due to the mutual exclusivity between the dynamic and mechanical properties of materials. Here, we developed a high-strength recyclable epoxy resin (HREP) based on dynamic dithioacetal covalent adaptive network using diglycidyl ether bisphenol A (DGEBA), pentaerythritol tetra(3-mercapto-propionate)(PETMP), and vanillin epoxy resin (VEPR). At high temperatures, the exchange reaction of thermally activated dithioacetals accelerated the rearrangement of the network, giving it significant reprocessing ability. Moreover, HREP exhibited excellent solvent resistance due to the increased cross-linking density. Using this high-strength recyclable epoxy resin as the matrix and carbon fiber modified with hyperbranched ionic liquids (HBP-AMIM+PF6-) as the reinforcing agent, high performance CFRPs were successfully prepared. The tensile strength, interfacial shear strength (IFSS) and interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) of the optimized formulation (HREP20/CF-HBPPF6) were 1016.1, 70.8 and 76.0 MPa, respectively. In addition, the CFRPs demonstrated excellent solvent and acid/alkali-resistance. The CFRPs could completely degrade within 24 h in DMSO at 140°C, and the recycled CF still maintained the same tensile strength and ILSS as the original after multiple degradation cycles.

As an independent sand control unit or a common protective shell of a high-quality screen,the punching screen is the outermost sand retaining unit of the sand control pipe which is used in geothermal well or oil and gas ***,most screens only consider the influence of the internal sand retaining medium parameters in the sand control performance design while ignoring the influence of the plugging of the punching screen on the overall sand retaining performance of the *** explore the clogging mechanism of the punching screen,this paper established the clogging mechanism calculation model of a single punching screen sand control unit by using the computational fluid mechanics-discrete element method(CFD-DEM)combined *** to the combined motion of particles and fluids,the influence of the internal flow state on particle motion and accumulation was *** results showed that(1)the clogging process of the punching sand control unit is divided into three stages:initial clogging,aggravation of clogging and stability of *** the initial stage of blockage,coarse particles form a loose bridge structure,and blockage often occurs preferentially at the streamline gathering place below chamfering inside the sand control *** the stage of blockage intensification,the particle mass develops into a relatively complete sand bridge,which develops from both ends of the opening to the center of the *** the stable plugging stage,the sand deposits show a“fan shape”and form a“V-shaped”gully inside the punching slot element.(2)Under a certain reservoir particle-size distribution,The slit length and opening height have a large influence on the permeability and blockage rate,while the slit width size has little influence on the permeability and blockage *** microscopic clogging mechanism and its law of the punching screen prevention unit are proposed in this study,which has some field guidance significance for the design of punching screen

Neuropeptides are crucial in regulation of a rich variety of developmental,physiological,and behavioral functions throughout the life cycle of *** an integrated approach of multiomics,we identified neuropeptide precursors in the greater wax moth Galleria mellonella,which is a harmful pest of honeybee hives with a worldwide ***,a total of 63 and 67 neuropeptide precursors were predicted and annotated in the *** genome and transcriptome,in which 40 neuropeptide precursors were confirmed in the *** ***,we identified 12 neuropeptide precursor genes present in *** but absent in honeybees,which may be potential novel pesticide target *** hives were contaminated with heavy metals such as lead,enabling its bioaccumulation in *** bodies through the food chain,we performed transcriptome sequencing to analyze the effects of Pb stress on the mRNA expression level of *** neuropeptide *** treatment by Pb,the expression of neuropeptide F1 was found to be significantly downregulated,implying that this neuropeptide might be associated with responding to the heavy metal stress in *** study comprehensively identified neuropeptide precursors in ***,and discussed the effects of heavy metals on insect neuropeptides,with the example of *** results are valuable for future elucidation of how neuropeptides regulate physiological functions in *** and contribute to our understanding of the insect's environmental plasticity and identify potential new biomarkers to assess heavy metal toxicity in insects.
