试验旨在研究富虾青素玉米对蛋鸡生产性能、抗氧化能力、虾青素富集及蛋品质的影响。选用28周龄海兰褐蛋鸡270只,分为3组,每组6重复,每重复15只鸡。对照组饲喂玉米-豆粕型饲粮,虾青素组在饲粮中添加虾青素24.32 mg/kg(计算值),富虾青素玉米组采用富虾青素玉米配制饲粮,饲粮虾青素含量为24.32 mg/kg(计算值)。预试1周,正试期8周。结果表明:虾青素和富虾青素玉米均可降低蛋鸡日采食量(P<0.05),提高蛋黄颜色a*值,并降低L*和b*值(P<0.05);虾青素和富虾青素玉米组鸡蛋中虾青素含量和富集效率均无显著差异,富虾青素玉米组蛋黄玉米黄质低于其他两组(P<0.05);与对照组相比,虾青素及富虾青素玉米组血清超氧化物歧化酶具有升高趋势(P=0.098),丙二醛含量降低(P<0.05)。在本试验条件下,蛋鸡饲粮使用富虾青素玉米可与添加虾青素发挥同等营养作用,均可改善蛋鸡生产性能,提高蛋黄颜色,增强机体抗氧化能力并使蛋黄富集虾青素。

This article presents the results of comparative study of two PV solar modules technologies,namely monofacial and *** study main objective is to identify conditions and parameters that make it possible to obtain better energy and economic efficiency from one or other of two *** study reason lies in revival observed on bifacial module in recent years where all the major manufacturers of PV solar panels are developing them where in a few years,this technology risks being at the same price as the monofacial solar panel with better *** indicator used is energy levelized cost(LCOE)which is function technology type,energy productivity,annual investment and operation *** achieve this,a 3.685 MWc solar PV power plant was dimensioned and simulated under Matlab for a 3.5 ha site with a 2,320,740,602 FCFA budget for monofacial installation,against 1,925,188,640 FCFA for 2.73 MWc bifacial *** LCOE comparative analysis of two technologies calculated over a period of 25 years,showed that plant with bifacial panels is more beneficial if bifacial gain is greater than 9%.It has further been found that it is possible to gain up to 40%of invested cost if bifacial gain reaches 45%.Finally,a loss of about 10%of invested cost could be recorded if bifacial gain is less than 9%.

Air temperature(Tair)is a fundamental variable in climate research and climate impact *** field observations do not accurately capture its spatial distribution due to the sparse and uneven distribution of weather stations,especially in remote areas where the local variability is *** circumvent this problem,in this study,remote sensing and weather station data were used to estimate Tair in the Souss watershed in *** statistical methods,including linear regression and partial least squares(PLS),and four machine learning algorithms,namely k-nearest neighbors,random forest(RF),extreme gradient boost,and Cubist,were used for modeling and predicting Tair and its performance were evaluated using random subsets and *** resolution imaging spectroradiometer predictors,including Terra band 32 emissivity,Terra nighttime land surface temperature,Terra local time of night observation,Aqua band 31 emissivity,Aqua daytime land surface tempera-ture,and Aqua nighttime land surface temperature(ALSTN),and auxiliary inputs,including sky-view,elevation,slope,and hillshade,were used as inputs for *** results showed that the Cubist and RF were the most accurate models(RMSE=2.09°C and 2.13°C,R2=0.91 and 0.90,respectively),while PLS had the lowest predictive power(RMSE=2.71°C;R2=0.83).The overall performance of the models for estimating Tair in the study area was generally satisfac-tory,with RMSE limited to less than 3°C for all ***,the station data reliability was still an issue,with only four of the seven stations marked by complete meteorological data.

Cassava mosaic disease caused by the whitefly-transmitted begomoviruses (family Geminiviridae) is a major threat to cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) production, which can be intercropped with other plants such as pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). The aim of this study is to identify cassava begomoviruses on other crops in cassava intercropping systems. Thus, foliar samples showing typical symptoms of virus diseases in cassava intercropping systems were collected from pepper and submitted to PCR analysis and direct sequencing. Three begomovirus species ACMV, EACMV and ALCCMV were identified and characterized in samples. Isolates of these species shared respectively 90% - 93%, 74% and 80% nucleotide identities with begomoviruses. These findings show that cassava begomoviruses can infect other crops and will help in understanding the epidemiology related to whitefly-transmitted begomoviruses in cassava intercropping systems.

Being the leading death cause among young people in the world, road accidents are avoidable through the adoption of simple attitudes and behaviors. Handicap International Non-governmental Organization (Ngo) has launched an awareness campaign in secondary schools in the municipalities of Cotonou and Abomey-Calavito bring young Beninese users to adopt good attitudes and safe behavior while driving on the road. This study aims at assessing the effectiveness of this awareness campaign. It was an evaluative cross-sectional here-elsewhere type study, held in fourteen high schools in the cities of Cotonou and Abomey-Calavi, of which seven benefited from the campaign and seven did not. In each school, students were selected on the basis of two-stage random sampling. 656 students, 309 of whom were sensitized and 347 of whom were not, were included in this study. The campaign was quite effective. Students, teachers, and school officials’ perceptions of the campaign were positive. In addition, the sensitized students had a better level of knowledge (p = 0.001) and reported safer behaviors (p = 0.003) while driving on the road than those who were not aware. Although the effects are positive, they are still very small. Efforts must be continued and much remains to be done.

Cassava mosaic disease (CMD) caused by Cassava Mosaic Begomoviruses (CMBs) is one of the most devastating crop diseases and a major constraint for cassava production. In order to ensure surveillance for epidemic prevention, low-cost diagnostic tools are appropriate for large-scale testing of cassava viruses. Multiplex PCR diagnosis is one approach that can reduce diagnostic costs and delays. A multiplex PCR approach was developed for simultaneous detection of African cassava mosaic virus (ACMV), East African Cassava Mosaic Virus and East African cassava mosaic Cameroon virus (EACMV/CM) in Togo CMD-infected cassava leaves. Three primers pairs were used to target their respective viruses in a single tube PCR. Multiplex PCR detected ACMV, EACMV and EACMV/CM in plant DNA extracts prepared from cassava leaves infected with CMB. The primers amplified 783 bp specific to ACMV, 650 bp specific to EACMV and 560 bp specific to EACMCV/CM in both uniplex and multiplex formats. Multiplex PCR is an excellent tool for the effective control of cassava diseases. .

Clinical Presentation and Evolution of Systemic Lupus at the CNHU-HKM of Cotonou (Benin)

Introduction: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a non-organ-specific autoimmune disease with an unknown origin. The unchanged trend of premature mortality in systemic lupus erythematosus shows the critical unmet need for improved and optimized management of systemic lupus erythematosus. Objectives: To analyze the clinical features and the prognostic factors of death in SLE at the CNHU-HKM of Cotonou. Patients and Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study. It was conducted over the period from January 1st 2010 to December 31st 2021. The study population consisted of all patients followed for SLE in the internal medicine, rheumatology, nephrology and dermatology wards at the CNHU-HKM of Cotonou. Results: 88 cases were recorded in 12 years, i.e. an incidence of 7 cases per year. There were 80 women and 8 men with a mean age of 36.4 ± 13.1 years. The clinical picture was dominated by mucocutaneous (86.3%) and osteoarticular (71.5%) disorders. The biological abnormalities observed were anemia (78.8%), lymphopenia (43.1%) and thrombocytopenia (17.7%). 39 patients had renal damage (44.3%). The incidence of death was 17%. Factors associated with death were renal involvement, infectious complications, high initial SLEDAI score, flare, thrombocytopenia and lymphopenia. Conclusion: Mortality related to SLE remains high at the CNHU-HKM of Cotonou. Renal involvement, infectious complications, high initial SLEDAI score, flare, lymphopenia and thrombocytopenia were the factors associated with death. The presence of these factors should lead to an evaluation of the treatment.

Panorama, Reasons for Seeking Care and Evolution of Systemic Autoimmune Diseases in Benin Hospitals in 2021

Introduction: Systemic autoimmune diseases have been poorly studied in sub-Saharan Africa and their frequency is not well known. This study provided an overview of the main reasons for the use of care and their evolution in the main hospitals in Benin. Methods: This was a multi-centric descriptive cross-sectional study conducted in the internal medicine, rheumatology, dermatology and nephrology departments of nine (09) public and private hospital centers in Benin over a 57-month period, from January 1st, 2017 to September 30th, 2021. It involved patients followed for a systemic autoimmune disease. The data was collected with a digital survey sheet and then processed and analyzed with the R software (version 3.4). Results: Two hundred and three (203) patients were recorded, which represents a hospital frequency of 0.13%. The mean age was 44 years and the sex ratio (M/F) was 0.29. Connective tissue disease accounted for 95.07% of systemic autoimmune diseases which were dominated by rheumatoid arthritis (40.9%) and systemic lupus (37.4%). Ten cases of vasculitis have been reported and dominated by Behçet’s disease (40%). The main reasons for seeking care were asthenia, weight loss and fever. Arthralgia and skin lesions are the main guiding signs. Six deaths (3.1%) were recorded among connective tissue disease and 1 death (10%) among vasculitis. Conclusion: In spite of being rare, systemic autoimmune diseases are a reality in Benin. A general population study would provide a better understanding of clinical characteristics and identify prognostic factors.
