Historical Building Renovation as a Construction Project

Approaches to building renovation require high professional levels, interdisciplinary elements, team work and time to study and do research on the buildings. The process of renovating historic buildings is made up of agreements and compromises between the interests of the government, common interests, and the motives and interests of individual owners and prospective investors. Research that deals with any portion of cultural heritages always carried out very precisely, but there is still no precise knowledge of how to define a system and draw up a model that accurately represents a cultural heritage. In the existing literature on this topic, the authors have written about the different views of how to explain the construction project as a system. While many authors focus on ＂sub-phases＂ directly connected to the building of an object, the process involved in the construction phase often neglects the phases required before beginning work, which culminates in a logical sequence in the process of preparing a project. Irregularities or deficiencies which occur during the preparation process of a project often directly impact the construction itself. What the scope of this impact depends on the approach of the contractual organization, the organization of construction companies and on co-operation between the customer （or architects） and the contractors. Unlike the projects for newly built objects, the conservation projects of cultural heritage are not only more demanding because of lack of knowledge of the building materials, construction, foundation and interaction of the mentioned individual parts into a unit called a building. The authors analyzed the structural aspects of building conservation which were suggested by Beckmaun and Bowles and another methodology, which was developed as part of the 5th framework program for the purpose of providing a comprehensive and interdisciplinary treatment of the revitalization of a historical city. Objective To further characterize the acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AChE-Is) pattern of Ptychopetalum olacoides ethanol extract (POEE) on the cytosolic globular monomer (G1) and membrane bound globular tetramer (G4) AChE isoforms in brain areas relevant for cognition. methods The G1 and G4 AChE isoforms were prepared according to the reported methods and the determination of AChE activity used was adapted from colorimetric method. Results POEE mostly inhibited G1 in hippocampus (75%), and G4 in frontal cortex (58%) and striatum (75%) (P mpus was of a competitive nature for G1 but uncompetitive for G4. Conclusion Considering the high density of cholinergic projection to the cortex and striatum, and the usefulness of conserving cytosolic acetylcholine to replenish synaptic vesicles in a highly active cognition site such as hippocampus, we argue that this could be a desirable profile for a clinically relevant AChE-I.

Relative peripheral refraction across 4 meridians after orthokeratology and LASIK surgery

Partial duplication of chromosome 3q is a recognizable syndrome with characteristic facial features, microcephaly, digital anomalies, genitourinary and cardiac defects as well as growth retardation and developmental delays. While there is clinical overlap with the unrelated Cornelia de Lange syndrome (CDLS), there are distinguishing features and molecular etiologies. most cases of 3q duplication appear to be the result of an unbalanced translocation or inversion and therefore accompanied by additional cytogenetic anomalies. Consequently, pure duplications of 3q are very rare;we are aware of only 12 such cases that have been reported previously. Here, we present a new case of pure, partial 3q duplication in a 3-month-old female who displayed a number of clinical signs consistent with previously reported phenotypes and the additional novel finding of a vascular ring.

Green synthesis is an alternative method for obtaining nanoparticles for environmentally friendly purposes. The present work describes the synthesis and characterization of titanium oxide nanoparticles, starting from three natural sources: orange peel, hibiscus rosa sinensis and Aloe vera. Titanium (IV) tetrabutoxide in ethanol solution was used as precursor. The methodology used was based on the sol-gel technique, through which TiO2 nanoparticles were obtained in the anatase phase. The characterization of the nanoparticles was carried out by means of x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEm) and infrared spectrophotometry (FTIR), which allowed the identification of a good degree of purity and crystallinity of the samples obtained.

pregnane X receptor and constitutive androstane receptor modulate differently CYp3A-mediated metabolism in earlyand late-stage cholestasis

AIm To ascertain whether cholestasis affects the expression of two CYP3 A isoforms(CYP3 A1 and CYP3 A2) and of pregnane X receptor(PXR) and constitutive androstane receptor(CAR).mETHODS Cholestasis was induced by bile duct ligation in 16 male Wistar rats; whereas 8 sham-operated rats were used as controls. Severity of cholestasis was assessed on histological examination of liver sections, and serum concentrations of albumin, AST, ALT, GGT, ALPK and bilirubin. Gene and protein expressions of PXR, CAR, CYP3 A1 and CYP3 A2 were assessed by means of q RT-PCR and Western blot, respectively. Alterations in CYP3 A activity were measured by calculating the kinetic parameters of 4-OH and 1'-OH-midazolam hydroxylation, marker reactions for CYP3 A *** The m RNA and protein expression of CYP3 A1 increased significantly in mild cholestasis(P m RNA and protein expression of CYP3 A2 didn't change in mild cholestasis, whereas the expression and activity of both CYP3 A1 and CYP3 A2 decreased dramatically when cholestasis became severe. Consistently with these observations, the nuclear expression of both PXR and CAR, which was measured because they both translocate into the cell nucleus after their activation, virtually disappeared in the late stage of cholestatic injury, after an initial increase. These results indicate that early-and late-stage cholestasis affects CYP3 Amediated drug metabolism differently, probably as consequence of the different activation of PXR and *** Early-and late-stage cholestasis affects CYP3 Amediated drug metabolism differently. PXR and CAR might be targeted therapeutically to promote CYP3 Amediated liver detoxification.

Recent evidence suggests that genetic and epigenetic mechanisms might be associated with acquired resistance to cancer *** aim of this study was to assess the association of genome-wide genetic and epigenetic alterations with the response to anti-HER2 agents in HER2-positive breast cancer *** was screened for articles published until march 2021 on observational studies investigating the association of genome-wide genetic and epigenetic alterations,measured in breast cancer tissues or blood,with the response to targeted treatment in HER2-positive breast cancer *** studies were included in the review along with ours,in which we compared the genome-wide DNA methylation pattern in breast tumor tissues of patients who acquired resistance to treatment (case group, n = 6) to that of patients who did not develop resistance (control group, n =6). Among genes identified as differentially methylated between the breast cancer tissue of cases and controls, oneof them, PRKACA, was also reported as differentially expressed in two studies included in the review. Althoughincluded studies were heterogeneous in terms of methodology and study population, our review suggests thatgenes of the PI3K pathway may play an important role in developing resistance to anti-HER2 agents in breastcancer patients. Genome-wide genetic and epigenetic alterations measured in breast cancer tissue or blood mightbe promising markers of resistance to anti-HER2 agents in HER2-positive breast cancer patients. Further studiesare needed to confirm these data.
