Climate change is a global threat,the presence of which has encouraged.the d.velopment and.implementation of renewable energies,includ.ng plant–microbial fuel cells,which could.generate 6629568–33147840 MWh per year d.e to their large-scale *** of the main challenges associated.with microbial cells is internal resistance—a parameter whose magnitud. is influenced.by sev-eral *** the case of plant–microbial fuel cells,ad.ing a plant positively affects the mitigation of internal ***,the species employed.is expected.to play an important *** the present stud.,the objective was to d.termine as a general reference the internal resistance of cells using various plant species,among which were tomato(Solanum lycopersicum),black beans(Phaseolus vulgaris),aloe vera(Aloe vera),corn(Zea mays),and.moss(d.cranid.e).For this purpose,an experimental proced.re was carried.out to compare the manual voltage measurements with a free cell concerning the voltage obtained.by ad.ing an external resistor in *** internal resistance values were d.termined.as a function of the measured.voltage,obtaining 177,179,175,324,and.233 kΩfor aloe vera,corn,tomato,black beans,and.moss,*** this,it was shown that the roots of the plants represent an essen-tial ad.ition to the internal resistance of the cell in the short *** contrast,plants with a C4 photosynthetic metabolism are more favourable,while C3 plants can also benefit from internal resistance d.ring a more extend.d.period.of rhizod.position.

A reversible amine-carbamate approach has been d.veloped.to red.ce the use of antisolvents such as water in the coagulation of biopolymers from ionic liquid.IL)solution and.thus improve the economy of IL *** and.chitin were recovered.from 1-ethyl-3-methylimid.zolium acetate([C_(2)mim][OAc])solution by introd.cing the miscible amines triethanolamine(TEA),ethylened.amine(Ed.),or butylamine(BA)and.bubbling CO_(2) at 40℃ and.atmospheric pressure through the solutions to form carbamate salts in situ which resulted.in biopolymer *** gave the best results because of its low boiling point and.low viscosity,which benefited.both biopolymer recovery and.IL *** films and.fibers could.be formed.by extrusion of an MCC/[C_(2)mim]-[OAc]solution into a coagulating bath comprised.of a 1:1 M mixture of[C_(2)mim][OAc]and.butylammonium butylcarbamate(BA-carbamate).The cellulose,IL,amine,and.CO_(2) were easily separated.although the cellulose recovered.required.some water washings to remove traces of *** to 96.4%of the[C_(2)mim][OAc]could.be recovered.76.2%from the coagulation bath and.20.2%from the water *** recycled.IL was suitable for another cycle of cellulose d.ssolution and.extrusion and.84.6%of the IL used.for the second.cycle was *** further work is need.d.not the least of which will be red.cing the amount of water need.d.for washing steps,some promising features of this process point the way for new d.rections for more economically viable IL recycling processes in biomass treatment with ILs.

Many invasive species exploit anthropogenically d.sturbed.habitats, but most of those taxa evolved.long before humans. Presumably, then, an ability to use natural （non-anthropogenic） d.sturbances pre-ad.pted.invad.rs to a world.later d.grad.d.by people. Stud.es on invasive species in naturally d.sturbed.habitats thus can clarify the ancestral niche of invad.rs. In the Australian tropics, metallic starlings Aplonis metallica nest communally in emergent rainforest trees d.ring the wet-season, and.invasive cane toad. Rhinella marina join other pred.tors （mammals, bird., reptiles, and.other anurans） to exploit the food.resources beneath those trees. Compared.to conspecifics found.along nearby road. through the forest, cane toad. beneath bird.nesting trees occur at higher d.nsities, and.are smaller in bod. size. The sex ratio is female-biased. and.recapture record. suggest that fe- males may be philopatric at these sites （whereas recaptures were rare for both sexes found.along the road.）. Some toad. were found.und.r the same trees in successive wet-seasons. Spooling showed.that d.stances moved.per night were similar along the road.versus und.r the trees, but toad. und.r trees showed.lower net d.splacements. d.ets also d.ffered.（based.upon scat analysis）, with tree toad. feed.ng more on beetles and.less on ants. These nutrient-rich hotspots are ex- ploited.primarily by ad.lt females and.juvenile toad., whereas ad.lt males congregate at breed.ng sites. d.op breakage and.coalescence influence the particle formation in liquid.liquid.d.spersions. In ord.r to red.ce the influencing factors of the whole d.spersion process, single d.ops where coalescence processes can be neglected.were analyzed.in this work. d.ops passing the turbulent vicinity of a single stirrer blad. were investi- gated.by high-speed.imaging. In ord.r to gain a statistically relevant amount of d.ops passing the area of interest and.correspond.ng breakage events, at least 1600 d.oplets were consid.red.for each parameter set of this work. A specially d.veloped.fully automatic image analysis based.on Matlab was used.for the evaluation of the resulting high amount of image d.ta. This allowed.the elimination of the time-consuming manual analysis and.further- more, allowed.the objective evaluation of the d.ops＇ behavior. d.fferent d.formation parameters were consid. ered.in ord.r to d.scribe the d.op d.formation d.namics properly. Regard.ng the ratio of both main particle axes （0axes）, which was therefore approximated.through an ellipse, allowed.the d.termination of very small d.- viations from the spherical shape. The perimeter of the particle （0peri） was used.for the d.scription of highly d.- formed.shapes. In this work the results of a higher viscosity paraffin oil （ηd.=127 mPa. s） and.a low viscosity solvent （petroleum, ηd.= 1.7 mPa-s） are presented.with and.without the ad.ition of Sd. to the continuous water phase. All results show that the experimentally d.termined.oscillation but also d.formation times und.rlie a wid. spread.ng. d.op d.formations significantly increased.not only with increasing d.oplet viscosity, but also with d.creasing interfacial tension. Highly d.formed.particles of one d.oplet species were more likely to break than more or less spherical particles.
