This paper presents a reliability-based settlement analysis of T-shaped deep cement mixing(TDM)pile-supported embankments over soft *** uncertainties of the mechanical properties of the in-situ soil,pile,and embankment,and the effect of the pile shape are considered *** analyses are performed using Monte Carlo simulations in combination with an adaptive Kriging(using adaptive sampling algorithm).Individual and system failure probabilities,in terms of the differential and maximum settlements(serviceability limit state(sLs)requirements),are *** reliability results for the embankments supported by TDM piles,with various shapes,are compared and discussed together with the results for conventional deep cement mixing pile-supported embankments with equivalent pile *** influences of the inherent variabilities in the material properties(mean and coefficient of variation values)on the reliability of the piled embankments,are also *** study shows that large TDM piles,particularly those with a shape factor of greater than 3,can enhance the reliability of the embankment in terms of sLs requirements,and even avoid unacceptable reliability levels caused by variability in the material properties.

Gargantulides B and C,two new and highly complex 52-membered glycosylated macrolactones,were isolated from Amycolatopsis *** CA-230715 during an antibacterial screening *** structures of these giant macrolides were elucidated by 2D NMR spectroscopy and shown to be related to gargantulide A,although containing additional β-glucopyranose and/orα-arabinofuranose monosaccharides separately attached to their *** sequencing allowed the identification of a strikingly large 216 kbp biosynthetic gene cluster,among the largest type Ⅰ PKs clusters described so far,and the proposal of a previously unreported biosynthetic pathway for gargantulides *** absolute configurations of gargantulides B and C were assigned based on a combination of NMR and bioinformatics analysis of ketoreductase and enoylreductase domains within the multimodular type Ⅰ *** addition,the absolute stereochemistry of gargantulide A has now been revised and *** B and C display potent antibacterial activity against a set of drug-resistant Gram-positive bacteria and moderate activity against the clinically relevant Gram-negative pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii.

soil remediation is of increasing importance globally, especially in developing countries. Among available remediation options, stabilization, which aims to immobilize contaminants within soil, has considerable advantages, including that it is cost-effective, versatile, sustainable, rapid, and often results in less secondary pollution. However, there are emerging challenges regard- ing the long-term performance of the technology, which may be affected by a range of environmental factors. These challenges stem from a research gap regarding the development of accurate, quantitative laboratory simula- tions of long-term conditions, whereby laboratory accel- erated aging methods could be normalized to real field conditions. Therefore, field trials coupled with long-term monitoring are critical to further verify conditions under which stabilization is effective. sustainability is also an important factor affecting the long-term stability of site remediation. It is hence important to consider these challenges to develop an optimized application of stabilization technology in soil remediation.

Medium-Term Results of Balloon Valvuloplasty of Native Pulmonary Valve stenosis with and without supravalvular Obstruction in Childhood

Objectives:Factors influencing results of balloon valvuloplasty(BVP)of pulmonary valve stenosis(Ps)in children are ***:BVP has become the standard of care for Ps,medium-term results are not uniform and depend on various ***:We analysed the medium-term results of BVP of Ps in children in an observational,single centre *** for additional procedure was defined as outcome after initial ***:We included 143 children(83 female)at a median(IQR)age of 2.6(0.26–9.24)months and body weight of 5(3.4–8)kg at BVP with a follow–up of 5.04(1.6–10.2)*** used balloon size of 10(9–14)mm and maximal balloon pressure of 4(3.5–10)atm,resulting in balloon–to–pulmonary annulus ratio of 1.28(1.2–1.4).systolic pressure gradient of Ps was reduced with BVP(43.5 mmHg vs.14.0 mmHg,ps.25.0 mmHg,pst *** BVP with associated supravalvular Ps resulted in a relevant reduction of systolic pressure gradient in 23 of 31 patients(74.2%).Early additional procedure was necessary in 14 patients(9.8%)after 0.2(0.1–0.7)years due to residual Ps(n=13)and infective endocarditis(n=1).Factors for additional procedures were associated supravalvular Ps with a higher residual pressure gradient,but not genetic *** further follow–up of 5.04(1.6–10.2)years no further additional procedures were ***:Pulmonary BVP of native pulmonary valve stenosis leads to excellent medium-term results,even in 3 of 4 infants with associated supravalvular obstruction sufficient pressure relief can be obtained.

Immediate and Long-Term Results of Transcatheter Closure of Patent Ductus Arteriosus—Comparison of Two Decades before and after Change in Antibiotic Infective Endocarditis Prophylaxis Guidelines

Objectives:To determine immediate and long-term follow-up of transcatheter closure of patent ductus arteriosus(PDA)in ***:National antibiotic prophylaxis(AP)guideline for infective endocarditis changed after 2009,the effect on practice of PDA closure is ***:Observational single center study analyzing follow-up of PDA closure comparing two time periods before(2002–2009)and after(2010–2019)changes in AP ***:332 patients(68.1%female),median(interquartile range)age 3.0 years(1.5–5.7)and body weight 14.0 kg(10.0–19.3),were *** morphology was conical type A(50.3%),window type B(1.2%),tubular type C(40.1%),complex type D(2.1%),elongated type E(0.9%)and other(5.4%).Minimal PDA diameter and length were 1.9 mm(1.3–2.5)and 8.0 mm(6.2–10.2).PDA was closed using coils(56.3%),Amplatzer Duct Occluders(41.9%)and others(1.8%).Complete closure rate was 61.1%at catheter intervention,72.3%on day 1,87.7%after 6 months and 98.4%at last follow-up on *** complication rate(severity level 3)was 4.2%and major complication rate(severity level 4)0.3%,with no catastrophic complications(severity level 5).Annual PDA closure rate declined in the second time period(22.6/year vs.15.5/year,p=0.018),PDA size increased(1.6 mm vs.2.0 mm,p=0.002)and proportion of coils decreased(72.4%vs.37.1%,psions:Interventional closure of PDA is associated with excellent closure rates during follow-up(>98%)and only a small number of complications leading to reintervention or *** in AP guidelines changed indication for and practice of PDA closure.

The smart grid concept is key to the energy revolution that has been taking place in recent *** Grids have been present in energy research since their ***,the scarcity of data from different energy sources,hardware power,or co-simulation environments has hindered their *** advances in multi-agent-based systems,the possibility of simulating the behavior of different energy sources,combining real building consumption,and simulated data,storage batteries and vehicle charging points,has opened *** development has resulted in much research published using both simulated and physical *** these investigations show that the main problem is that the machine learning algorithms do not fully match the real behavior,it is complex to use them to replicate the different actions to be *** paper aims to combine the approach of behavior prediction with state-of-the-art techniques,such as deep learning and deep reinforcement learning,to simulate unknown or critical system scenarios.A very important element in smart grids is the possibility of maintaining consumption within specific ranges(flexibility).For this purpose,we have made use of Tensorflow libraries that predict energy consumption and deep reinforcement learning to select the optimal actions to be performed in our *** developed platform is flexible enough to include new technologies such as smart batteries,electric vehicles,etc.,and it is oriented to real-time operation,being applied in an on-going real project such as the European ebalance-plus project.

A compositional function hybridization of PsO and GWO for solving well placement optimisation problem

Advances in technology and optimisation are helping to improve decision making in the oil and gas ***,most of the traditional metaheuristic algorithms applied in well placement optimisation problems suffer from extensive parameter experimentations and local optimum trapping *** couples with the complex and heterogeneous nature of hydrocarbon reservoirs and increased decision variables poses severe simulation process *** study considered a functional composition integration approach to formulate a robust hybrid metaheuristic algorithm called *** HGWO-PsO leverages on the strengths of Grey Wolf Optimiser(GWO)and Particle swarm Optimisation(PsO)and the Clerc's parameter setting considerations.A rigorous approach which enforces regulatory agreed minimum well spacing was incorporated in the optimisation *** models ranging from unimodal to multimodal spatial systems were used as examples to test the explorative and exploitative capabilities of the *** this paper we show the performance curve and statistical analysis of HGWO-PsO as a well placement algorithm and compares its performance with that of standalone PsO,and GWO and the traditional Genetic Algorithm(GA).Results revealed that the HGWO-PsO demonstrated comparative performances in terms of exploration and exploitation obtaining the best optimal solutions which give highest contractor's NPVs in majority of cases ***,the means and standard deviations for HGWO-PsO among the various runs showed consistent and efficient *** Wilcoxon signed rank test conducted gave very low p-values suggesting uniqueness of HGWO-PsO from the other metaheuristic ***,the computational speed of HGWO-PsO was relatively better as compared to the individual GWO and PsO in most the test *** simulation results for all test cases confirm that implementation of HGWO-PsO can cause considerable improvement in locations of wells even in hete

Knowing the long-term degradation trajectory of Lithium-ion(Li-ion) battery in its early usage stage is critical for the maintenance of the battery energy storage system(BEss) in reality. Previous battery health diagnosis methods focus on capacity and state of health(sOH) estimation which can receive only the short-term health status of the cell. This paper proposes a novel degradation trajectory prediction method with synthetic dataset and deep learning, which enables to grasp the characterization of the cell's health at a very early stage of Li-ion battery usage. A transferred convolutional neural network(CNN) is chosen to finalize the early prediction target, and the polynomial function based synthetic dataset generation strategy is designed to reduce the costly data collection procedure in real application. In this thread, the proposed method needs one full lifespan data to predict the overall degradation trajectories of other cells. With only the full lifespan cycling data from 4 cells and 100 cycling data from each cell in experimental validation, the proposed method shows a good prediction accuracy on a dataset with more than 100 commercial Li-ion batteries.
