The Araçuaíorogen,in eastern Brazil,was formed during the Neoproterozoic–Cambrian amalgamation of West *** the Mesozoic–Cenozoic opening of the South Atlantic ocean,and the associated divergent tectonics,the orogen developed as basement to the passive margin of South America and was progressively covered by thick offshore sedimentary basins,particularly the Espírito Santo,Mucuri,and Cumuruxatiba basins,in which hydrocarbon systems have been *** understanding of the Araçuaíorogen’s passive margin evolution,erosion,and sediment transfer to these basins ultimately depends on constraining the onshore exhumation in response to Mesozoic–Cenozoic ***,new and previously published data from apatite fission-track(AFT)analyses and inverse thermal history modelling of(Pre)Cambrian basement rocks from the Araçuaíorogen resolve three discrete basement cooling and associated erosional exhumation *** the Pre-Rift phase,Jurassic–Hauterivian erosion of the Araçuaíorogen is most likely related to the adjoining intra-continental West Gondwana flexural subsidence,which increased hillslope and river erosion *** the Rift and Transitional phases,Barremian–Albian accelerated phase of erosion is associated with the uplift of the Atlantic rift shoulders and the establishment of an oceanic *** the Drift phase,reactivations in response to far-field stresses likely triggered a Late Cretaceous–Paleocene rapid erosion *** rates at which these events unfolded vary spatially and are controlled by inherited *** Araçuaíorogen experienced slower denudation rates in areas closer to the São Francisco Craton,which suggests that the tectonic reactivation and related surface uplift during the Mesozoic–Cenozoic is in first-order controlled by lithospheric ***,the structural framework of the Paramirim and Pirapora aulacogens and NE-oriented shear zones in the orogen’s southeast facilitated later *** the spati

Exercise has emerged as fundamental therapeutic medicine in the management of *** improves health-related outcomes,including quality of life,neuromuscular strength,physical function,and body composition,and it is associated with a lower risk of disease recurrence and increased ***,exercise during or post cancer treatments is safe,can ameliorate treatment-related side effects,and may enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy and radiation *** date,traditional resistance training(RT)is the most used RT modality in exercise ***,alternative training modes,such as eccentric,cluster set,and blood flow restriction are gaining increased *** training modalities have been extensively investigated in both athletic and clinical populations(e.g.,age-related frailty,cardiovascular disease,type 2 diabetes),showing considerable benefits in terms of neuromuscular strength,hypertrophy,body composition,and physical ***,these training modes have only been partially or not at all investigated in cancer ***,this study outlines the benefits of these alternative RT methods in patients with *** evidence in cancer populations is sparse,we provide a robust rationale for the possible implementation of certain RT methods that have shown positive results in other clinical ***,we provide clinical insights for research that may guide future RT investigations in patients with cancer and suggest clear practical applications for targeted cancer populations and related benefits.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in asymptomatic Brazilian adolescents

AIM： To evaluate the prevalence and clinical characteristics of Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease （NAFLD） among asymptomatic Brazilian adolescents. METHoDS： Transversal observational study included asymptomatic adolescents with central obesity from private and public schools in Salvador-Bahia, northeastern Brazil. The children answered a questionnaire that in- cluded age, gender, race, and medical history, and were submitted to a complete physical exam and abdominal ultrasound. Biochemical exams included： ALT, AST, GGT, C reactive protein （CRP）, fasting glucose, insulin, cholesterol and triglycerides. Criteria for NAFLD included： the presence of steatosis in ultrasound and/or high level of ALT, negative or occasional historic of intake of alcohol （4 140 g/wk）, negative investigation for hepatitis A, B, C, auto-immune hepatitis, Wilson disease and ***： From october, 2005 to october, 2006, the study included 1801 subjects between 11 and 18 years of age and a mean age of 13.7± 2.0 years. one hun- dred ninety-nine had central obesity. The prevalence of NAFLD was 2.3%, most of whom were male and white. Insulin resistance （IR） was observed in 22.9% of them and had positive correlations with ALT and GGT （P 〈 0.05）. Elevated CRP was observed in 6.9% of the cases; however, it was not associated with WC, IR or liver enzymes. CoNCLUSIoN： The prevalence of NAFLD in Brazilian adolescents was low. The ethnicity may have influence this frequency in the population studied, which had a large proportion of African descendents.

AIM:To evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of abdominal ultrasound (US) for the diagnosis of hepatic steatosis in severe obese subjects and its relation to histological grade of steatosis. METHoDS: A consecutive series of obese patients, who underwent bariatric surgery from october 2004 to May 2005, was selected. Ultrasonography was performed in all patients as part of routine preoperative time and an intraoperative wedge biopsy was obtained at the beginning of the bariatric surgery. The US and histological findings of steatosis were compared, considering histology as the gold standard. RESULTS: The study included 105 patients. The mean age was 37.2 ± 10.6 years and 75.2% were female. The histological prevalence of steatosis was 89.5%. The sensitivity and specificity of US in the diagnosis of hepatic steatosis were, respectively, 64.9% (95% CI: 54.9-74.3) and 90.9% (95% CI: 57.1-99.5). The positive predictive value and negative predictive value were, respectively, 98.4% (95% CI: 90.2-99.9) and 23.3% (95% CI: 12.3-39.0). The presence of steatosis onUS was associated to advanced grades of steatosis on histology (P = 0.016). CoNCLUSIoN: Preoperative abdominal US in our series has not shown to be an accurate method for the diagnosis of hepatic steatosis in severe obese patients. Until another non-invasive method demonstrates better sensitivity and specificity values, histological evaluation may be recommended to these patients undergoing bariatric surgery.

Suppressive effects of exercise-conditioned serum on cancer cells:A narrative review of the influence of exercise mode,volume,and intensity

Cancer is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide,and the incidence is increasing,highlighting the need for effective strategies to treat this *** has emerged as fundamental therapeutic medicine in the management of cancer,associated with a lower risk of recur-rence and increased *** avenues of research demonstrate reduction in growth,proliferation,and increased apoptosis of cancer cells,including breast,prostate,colorectal,and lung cancer,when cultured by serum collected after exercise in vitro(i.e.,the cultivation of cancer cell lines in an experimental setting,which simpliﬁes the biological system and provides mechanistic insight into cell responses).The underlying mechanisms of exercise-induced cancer suppressive effects may be attributed to the alteration in circulating factors,such as skeletal muscle-induced cytokines(i.e.,myokines)and ***,exercise-induced tumor suppressive effects and detailed information about training interventions are not well investigated,constraining more precise application of exercise medicine within clinical *** date,it remains unclear what role different training modes(i.e.,resistance and aerobic training)as well as volume and intensity have on exercise-condi-tioned serum and its effects on cancer ***,the available evidence is that a single bout of aerobic training at moderate to vigorous intensity has cancer suppressive effects,while for chronic training interventions,exercise volume appears to be an inﬂuential candidate driving cancer inhibitory effects regardless of training *** for future research investigating training modes,volume and intensity are provided to further our understanding of the effects of exercise-conditioned serum on cancer cells.

Introduction: Splenic cysts are uncommon and usually do not generate signs and symptoms, being diagnosed by incidental findings. Case report: A 35-year-old, female patient attended the Luiz Gioseffi Jannuzzi School Hospital (HELGJ) presenting episodes of vomiting and abdominal pain in the left hypochondrium. She was hospitalized for diagnostic investigation. Computed tomography showed the splenic cyst. The procedure was the surgical approach by laparotomy with splenectomy. Histopathological confirmed the diagnosis. Discussion: Compared to the scarce reports in literature, the case described presented typical epidemiology and clinical features. Conclusions: Given the rarity of this pathology cases, it is essential to report these in order to elucidate the specificities and also to discuss diagnostic and therapeutic methods.

Efficiency in Teaching Speaker and Listener Repertoires:Comparing Three Instructional Sequences in Autistic Children

Previous studies have investigated the efficiency in teaching listener and speaker repertoires in children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder(ASD).Some investigations focused on listener responding by function,feature,and class(LRFFC)and intraverbal by function,feature,and class(FFC).For some children,teaching intraverbal FFC was more efficient because it resulted in a better emergence effect of a related untaught repertoire(LRFFC).For other children,teaching LRFFC along with tacting pictures was more efficient,resulting in a better emergence effect of a related untaught repertoire(intraverbal FFC).In these cases,it is not clear whether the tact increased the efficiency of LRFFC training because a comparison with a condition in which tacts were not required was not *** investigation consisted of a replication with two children diagnosed with *** instructional sequences were compared:teaching LRFFC-probing intraverbal;teaching LRFFC+tacts-probing intraverbal;teaching intraverbal-probing *** a child,all sequences were equally efficient because all related untaught repertoires emerged without ***,the acquisition of intraverbals during training occurred with *** the case of the second child,the most efficient sequence consisted of teaching intraverbals,resulting in the emergence of LRFFC without *** both cases of teaching LRFFC,the emergence of related intraverbals was partial and acquisition of the trained repertoires occurred with *** case that did not demand tact responses was slightly more *** were discussed in the sense that the best instructional sequence may vary from learner to learner.

The Performance of the School Psychologist in Schools for the Inclusion of Autistic Students in the Scenario of CoVID-19

During CoVID-19,the repercussions on scholar dynamics,functioning and structure were inevitable,causing an impact on groups that,historically,are minority in relation to the scope of school inclusion policies,such as students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder(ASD).This scenario is followed by educational phenomena in the face of which School Psychology has collaborated with the advancement of research and knowledge *** qualitative study,based on Historical-Cultural Psychology and Critical School Psychology,analyzed the role of the school psychologist in monitoring students diagnosed with ASD in the context of regular school during the *** following procedures were conducted:application of an online questionnaire;and semi-structured interviews with four school *** a result,three zones of shared meanings were built:the claim for the right to education with support and adaptations;the psychologist as the great savior of inclusion;the non-total inclusion that denounces the structure of injustice by *** information suggests that professional performance was hampered by different obstacles in the pandemic,such as the difficulty imposed by school,overload of demands,and impasses in the implementation of inclusion historically experienced at school,revealing that the school structure still carries historical consequences of *** shared meanings have demanded a professional performance with more effort,resistance,and strategies that accept the demands of school inclusion,providing collective mobilization,together with school actors,capable of breaking down barriers,especially those related to capacitist concepts.

Synthesis, Characterization, and Evaluation of Antitumor Potential in MCF-7 Cells of Ruthenium-Derived Compounds

To synthesize, characterize and evaluate the antitumor potential derived from ruthenium compounds was generated in this study, from the precursor K[RuCl4(bipy)] a route in a simple and reproducible synthesis for a novel compound of coordinating Ru+3 with bipy and L-trip. The spectroscopic characterization in the middle infrared region (FTIR) shows the interactions between Ru-(L-trip), evidenced by the displacement of the carboxylate ion band for higher energies, and also by the displacements of aliphatic amine bands, suggesting that bidentate coordination of the L-trip ligand occurred. Analysis of the results obtained with thermoanalytical techniques showed that the minimum formula of the compound, [RuCl2(bipy)(L-trip)]1/2H2O. Evaluation of the antitumor potential of precursor K[RuCl4(bipy)] showed the toxic effects on MCF-7 cell line, but did not show selectivity and not reached PBMC cells to the same extent. The evaluation of the antitumor potential of the newly synthesized compound, [RuCl2ont-family:Verdana;">(bipy)(L-trip)], demonstrated that the insertion of an L-tryptophan molecule into the precursor coordination sphere made it selective when compared to PBMC cells, for MCF-7 type tumor cells.
