Phenolic compounds and their derivatives have been found in industrial wastewater, which pose threats to the natural environment. Ordered mesoporous carbon(OMC) has been identified as an ideal adsorbent possessing high specific surface area and large pore volume to alleviate these pollutants. A novel ordered mesoporous carbon was prepared using COK-19 template with the cubic Fm3 m structure for the first time. Ordered mesoporous silica COK-19 was synthesized and reported in 2015. Sucrose as the carbon precursor was impregnated into the mesopores of silica and converted to carbon through carbonization process using sulfuric acid as a catalyst. Ordered mesoporous carbon was obtained after the removal of silica framework using hydrofluoric acid. Boric acid was employed for the preparation of OMCs with tunable pore sizes in the range of 6.9–16.6 nm. Several characterization techniques such as nitrogen adsorption–desorption isotherms, transmission electron microscope(TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Boehm titration and elemental analysis were employed to characterize the OMCs. The pore size analysis and TEM images confirmed that OMC has replicated the mesostructure of the COK-19. Results obtained from adsorption kinetics and isotherms suggest that the Pseudo-second-order model and Langmuir isotherm well described the experimental data.

二噁英类物质由于具有亲脂性、高毒性、化学结构稳定、难生物降解而在环境中持久存在,成为持久性有机污染物的典型代表.二噁英的去除方法研究,一直是国际研究的热点.以5%钯/炭为催化剂,氢气作为氢源,以环境友好的α-丙二醇-水为溶剂,在1mol/L氢氧化钠的碱性条件下,研究了1,2,7,8-四氯代二噁英(1,2,7,8-TCDD)的催化加氢脱氯降解.探讨了反应温度、初始浓度、反应时间、催化剂用量等对1,2,7,8-TCDD去除率的影响.结果表明,在反应初期(前5min),反应速率较快;在反应温度为45℃,催化剂用量为0.5g/mL,反应时间为150min的条件下,1,2,7,8-TCDD的去除率达97.0%;初始浓度对1,2,7,8-TCDD的去除率没有影响.初步试验结果表明,催化加氢脱氯降解是去除环境中氯代二噁英的有效手段,但实际应用还有待于进一步研究.

Coastal Louisiana has the nation’s most fragile and valuable wetlands,whose loss represents 80% of the total losses in the United *** severely restricted mobility of conventional shoreline protection structures makes them impossible to be *** Wave Suppression and Sediment Collection(WSSC) system is a novel technology of high mobility and compatible with existing shoreline protection *** laboratory studies on WSSC showed great potential for wave reduction and sediment *** current study aimed to optimize the design parameters of WSSC using a validated computational model.A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model was developed and validated using experimental data from the previous laboratory ***,a parametric analysis was conducted with a focus on the performance optimization of wave reduction and sediment collection with respect to pipe diameter and face *** results showed that the wave reduction efficiency decreased with increasing pipe diameter and face *** contrast,the sediment transport efficiency was enhanced by increasing pipe diameter but was not affected significantly by varying face slopes.

We present large scale observations of C^18O （1-0） towards four massive star forming regions： MON R2, S156, DR17/L906 and M17/M18. The transitions of H2CO （110-111）, C^18O （1-0） and the 6cm continuum are compared in these four regions. Our analysis of the observations and the results of the Non-LTE model shows that the brightness temperature of the formaldehyde absorption line is strongest in a background continuum temperature range of about 3 - 8 K. The excitation of the H2CO absorption line is affected by strong background continuum emission. From a comparison of H2CO and C^18O maps, we found that the extent of H2CO absorption is broader than that of C^18O emission in the four regions. Except for the DR17 region, the maximum in H2CO absorption is located at the same position as the C^18O peak. A good correlation between intensities and widths of H2CO absorption and C^18O emission lines indicates that the H2CO absorption line can trace the dense, warm regions of a molecular cloud. We find that N（H2CO） is well correlated with N（ C^18O） in the four regions and that the average ratio of column densities is （N（H2CO）/N（ClSO））～0.03.

Anaerobic digestion(AD)has been considered as a promising technique for food waste(FW)***,the accumulation of volatile fatty acids(VFAs)restricts the stability of anaerobic *** present study investigated the use of biochar produced at different conditions(750℃-30 min,750℃-60 min,750℃-120 min,550℃-60 min,650℃-60 min,850℃-60 min,950℃-60 min)for enhancing the AD of *** experiments showed that all the biochar increased the methane production rates and biochar obtained at 750℃-60 min resulted in the highest enhance-ment by 21.5%.It was further showed surface oxygen-containing functional groups and graphitization degree of biochar were the critical factors for improving methane *** analysis showed that biochar addi-tion formed different microbial communities,and Methanosaeta,Romboutsia,and norank_f_Anaerolineaceae were enriched,which might be correlated with direct interspecies electron transfer(DIET).This research showed biochar could enhance the AD of FW and also revealed the main characteristics of biochar relating with the enhancement of AD.

Busulfan/cyclophosphamide(Bu/Cy) conditioning regimen has been widely used to treat cancer patients,while their effects on major internal organs in females are not fully *** treated female mice with Bu/Cy,and examined the histopathology of major internal organs on Day 30 after the *** results show that Bu/Cy treatment affected the ovaries most extensively,while it had less effect on the spleen,lungs,and kidneys,and no effect on the heart,liver,stomach,and *** better understand the effect of Bu/Cy on the ovaries,we counted follicles,and determined the levels of ovarian *** Bu/Cy-treated mice showed a reduction of primordial and primary follicles(P<0.01) on Day 30 and a marked loss of follicles at all developmental stages(P<0.01) on Day *** levels of estradiol and progesterone in Bu/Cy-treated mice decreased by 43.9% and 61.4%,***,there was a gradual process of follicle loss and low estradiol in Bu/Cy-treated mice;this is a profile similar to what is found in women with premature ovarian failure(POF).The Bu/Cy-treated mice may serve as a useful animal model to study the dynamics of follicle loss in women undergoing POF.

Petroleum products contamination is a world-wide problem that threatens polluting groundwater and surface water systems. However, the problem is not only large-scale in scope when viewed from a case-by-case basis. Many fueling, construction, agricultural, and industrial activities result in the problem of managing smaller quantities of these soils from an ecological safety perspective. Landfilling has been the disposal method of choice in the US;however, this option is becoming economically prohibitive and it does not really offer a true degradation fate for the pollutants. This study focused on the proving of an innovative biocell design that afforded a high level of petroleum degradation within a simple and cost effective design. Additionally, the design offered a remediation solution for sites not easily accessed. Soil contaminated with both diesel fuel and gasoline collected from a former filling station was used in this on-site remediation case study. Rapid biodegradation of the petroleum products were observed at the initiation of the study with rates leveling off as the study progressed with the final total petroleum hydrocarbon concentration being 10 mg/kg at Day 90. Oxygen uptake rates were monitored and found to nicely track both microbial activity and pollutant removal dynamics. The biocell design met all expectations by being effective, yet simple to build and operate.
