Recurrence rates after endoscopic resection of large colorectal polyps:A systematic review and meta-analysis

BAcKGROUNd complete polyp resection is the main goal of endoscopic removal of large colonic *** techniques have evolved in recent years and endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESd),endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR)with margin ablation,cold snare polypectomy(cSP),cold EMR,and underwater EMR have been ***,efficacy of these techniques with regard to local recurrence rates(LRRs)vs traditional hot snare polypectomy and standard EMR remains *** To analyze LRR of large colonic polyps in a systematic review and *** MEdLINE,EMBASE,EBM Reviews,and cINAHL were searched for prospective studies reporting LRR or incomplete resection rate(IRR)after colonic polypectomy of polyps≥10 mm,published between January 2011 and July *** outcome was LRR for polyps≥10 *** Six thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight publications were identified,of which 34 prospective studies were *** for polyps≥10 mm at up to 12 mo’follow-up was 11.0%(95%cI,7.1%-14.8%;15 studies;4904 polyps).ESd(1.7%;95%cI,0%-3.4%;3 studies,221 polyps)and endoscopic mucosal resection with margin ablation(3.3%;95%cI,2.2%-4.5%;2 studies,947 polyps)significantly reduced LRR vs standard EMR without(15.2%;95%cI,12.5%-18.0%;4 studies,650 polyps)or with unsystematic margin ablation(16.5%;95%cI,15.2%-17.8%;6 studies,3031 polyps).cONcLUSION LRR is significantly lower after ESd or EMR with routine margin ablation;thus,these techniques should be considered standard for endoscopic removal of large colorectal *** techniques,such as cSP,cold EMR,and underwater EMR require further evaluation in prospective studies before their routine implementation in clinical practice can be recommended.

More than 80 million metric tons of fly ash is produced annually in the U.S. as coal combustion by-product. coal fly ash can be converted to value-added products if unburned carbon is reduced to less than 2.5%. However, most of fly ash is currently landfilled as waste due to lack of efficient purification technologies to separate unburned carbon from fly ash. A rotary triboelectrostatic separator has been developed and patented recently at the University of Kentucky with unique features. Several fly ash samples have been used to understand the effects of major process parameters on the separation performance. The results show that compared to existing triboelectrostatic separators, the rotary triboelectrostatic separator has significant advantages in particle charging efficiency, solids throughput, separation efficiency, applicable particle size range.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma carries a poor prognosis with annual deaths almost matching the reported incidence rates. Surgical resection offers the only potential cure. yet, even among patients that undergo tumor resection, recurrence rates are high and long-term survival is scarce. Various tumorrelated factors have been identified as predictors of survival after potentially curative resection. These factors include tumor size, lymph node disease, tumor grade, vascular invasion, perineural invasion and surgical resection margin. This article will re-evaluate the importance of these factors based on recent publications on the topic, with potential implications for treatment and outcome in patients with pancreatic cancer.

By adding 1 wt% damage homogenizer（dH）, i.e. carbon black microparticles, into the electrodes of lithiumion batteries, thermal runaway can be mitigated as the battery cells are subjected to impact loadings. In a drop tower test, the generated heat of the modified cells is reduced by nearly 40%, compared with the reference cells. This phenomenon may be attributed to the weakening effect of the carbon black *** shape of the filler grains does not have a pronounced influence on the temperature profile.

This paper addresses a set of ideological tensions involving the classification of agential kinds,which I see as the methodological and conceptual core of the sentience ***,I consider ideals involved in the classification of biological and artifactual kinds,and ideals related to agency,identity,and *** ideals frame the background against which sentience in Artificial Intelligence(AI)is theorized and debated,a framework I call the *** make this framework explicit,I review the historical discourse on sentience as it appears in ancient,early modern,and the 20th century philosophy,paying special attention to how these ideals are projected onto artificial agents.I argue that tensions among these ideals create conditions where artificial sentience is both necessary and impossible,resulting in a crisis of *** past this crisis does not require a satisfying resolution among competing ideals,but instead requires a shift in focus to the material conditions and actual practices in which these ideals *** charles Mills,I sketch a nonideal approach to AI and artificial sentience that seeks to loosen the grip of ideology on the ***,I propose a notion of participation that deflates the sentience discourse in AI and shifts focus to the material conditions in which sociotechnical networks operate.
