DEAR EDITOR,The Laosicheng site in Yongshun County,Hunan Province,China,plays an important role in elucidating the animal population composition of the region prior to the middle Qing Dynasty(approximately 300 years ago).This site has yielded a substantial number of animal bones,11960 of which have been identified to the species level,serving as direct evidence of ancient animal populations(Hunan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology,2018).

Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1 (TREM-1) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. As an amplifier of the inflammatory response, TREM-1 is mainly involved in the production of inflammatory mediators and the regulation of cell survival. TREM-1 has been studied in infectious diseases and more recently in non-infectious disorders. More and more studies have shown that TREM-1 plays an important pathogenic role in kidney diseases. There is evidence that TREM-1 can not only be used as a biomarker for diagnosis of disease but also as a potential therapeutic target to guide the development of novel therapeutic agents for kidney disease. This review summarized molecular biology of TREM-1 and its signaling pathways as well as immune response in the progress of acute kidney injury, renal fibrosis, diabetic nephropathy, immune nephropathy, and renal cell carcinoma.

膝骨关节炎(knee osteoarthritis,KOA)是一种非常普遍且容易致残的关节疾病,疼痛是其主要临床症状且病理机制复杂。随着神经影像技术在KOA疼痛研究中的应用和发展,中枢神经系统被认为在KOA疼痛的发生、发展过程中起着关键的作用。MRI技术是研究中枢神经系统的尖端技术,被广泛用于疼痛的脑中枢重塑研究,能够较为直观地显示KOA疼痛患者脑结构和功能的改变。本文将脑结构MRI(structural MRI,sMRI)及静息态功能MRI(resting-state functional MRI,rs-fMRI)技术对KOA疼痛相关研究进行综述,主要包括对KOA疼痛患者脑灰质体积和皮质厚度的改变,白质微结构完整性的异常和rs-fMRI对KOA疼痛患者的脑低频振幅(amplitude of low frequency fluctuation,ALFF)、局部一致性(regional homogeneity,ReHo)、功能连接(functional connectivity,FC)和脑网络改变方面的研究。旨在评估神经影像标志物与KOA疼痛之间的关联,丰富对KOA疼痛患者脑sMRI和rs-fMRI影像改变的认识。

The clinical role and underlying mechanisms of valproic acid(VPA)on bone homeostasis remain ***,we confirmed that VPA treatment was associated with decreased bone mass and bone mineral density(BMD)in both patients and *** effect was attributed to VPA-induced elevation in osteoclast formation and *** RNA-sequencing,we observed a significant rise in precursor miR-6359 expression in VPA-treated osteoclast precursors in vitro,and further,a marked upregulation of mature miR-6359(miR-6359)in vivo was demonstrated using quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)and miR-6359 fluorescent in situ hybridization(miR-6359-FISH).Specifically,the miR-6359 was predominantly increased in osteoclast precursors and macrophages but not in neutrophils,T lymphocytes,monocytes and bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)following VPA stimulation,which influenced osteoclast differentiation and bone-resorptive ***,VPA-induced miR-6359 enrichment in osteoclast precursors enhanced reactive oxygen species(ROS)production by silencing the SIRT3 protein expression,followed by activation of the MAPK signaling pathway,which enhanced osteoclast formation and activity,thereby accelerating bone ***,there are no medications that can effectively treat VPA-induced bone ***,we constructed engineered small extracellular vesicles(E-sEVs)targeting osteoclast precursors in bone and naturally carrying anti-miR-6359 by introducing of EXOmotif(CGGGAGC)in the 3’-end of the anti-miR-6359 *** confirmed that the E-sEVs exhibited decent bone/osteoclast precursor targeting and exerted protective therapeutic effects on VPA-induced bone loss,but not on ovariectomy(OVX)and glucocorticoid-induced osteoporotic models,deepening our understanding of the underlying mechanism and treatment strategies for VPA-induced bone loss.

Owing to the outstanding properties provided by nontrivial band topology,topological phases of matter are considered as a promising platform towards low-dissipation electronics,efficient spin-charge conversion,and topological quantum *** ferroelectricity in topological materials enables the non-volatile control of the quantum states,which could greatly facilitate topological electronic ***,ferroelectricity is generally incompatible with systems featuring metallicity due to the screening effect of free *** this study,we report the observation of memristive switching based on the ferroelectric surface state of a topological semimetal(TaSe_(4))*** find that the surface state of(TaSe_(4))2I presents out-of-plane ferroelectric polarization due to surface *** the combination of ferroelectric surface and charge-density-wave-gapped bulk states,an electric-switchable barrier height can be achieved in(TaSe_(4))2I-metal *** employing a multi-terminal-grounding design,we manage to construct a prototype ferroelectric memristor based on(TaSe_(4))2I with on/off ratio up to 103,endurance over 103 cycles,and good retention *** origin of the ferroelectric surface state is further investigated by first-principles calculations,which reveal an interplay between ferroelectricity and band *** emergence of ferroelectricity in(TaSe_(4))2I not only demonstrates it as a rare but essential case of ferroelectric topological materials,but also opens new routes towards the implementation of topological materials in functional electronic devices.

氯盐快堆具有重金属溶解度高和能谱较硬等特性,是嬗变超铀核素(Transuranic elements,TRU)的理想堆型。本文提出了一种50 MW小型模块化氯盐快堆(small-Modular Chlorine salt Fast Reactor,sm-MCFR)方案,对其焚烧TRU特性进行了初步研究。采用了基于SCALE(Standardized Computer Analyses for Licensing Evaluation)和MODEC(MOlten Salt Reactor Specific DEpletion Code)开发的耦合程序TMCBurnup(TRITON MODEC Coupled Burnup Code),计算并分析了sm-MCFR在TRU+232Th和TRU+DU(Depleted Uranium)两种燃料方案下的临界、燃耗、核素演化和嬗变TRU等物理性能。结果表明:在sm-MCFR运行期间,为维持临界状态,需在线添加TRU,以确保有效增殖系数k_(eff)>1;满功率运行40 a时,采用TRU+Th燃料方案下堆芯剩余TRU量为657 kg,而采用TRU+DU燃料方案下剩余TRU量为725 kg,皆大于寿期初;采用TRU+Th和TRU+DU作为燃料盐时,嬗变率分别可达49%和41%,为实现乏燃料最小化提供了可行方案。

Radiation damage can cause a series of gastrointestinal(GI)tract *** development of safe and effective GI tract radioprotectants still remains a great challenge ***,we firstly report an oral radioprotectant Gel@GYY that integrates a porous gelatin-based(Gel)hydrogel and a pH-responsive hydrogen sulfide(H2S)donor GYY4137(morpholin-4-ium 4 methoxyphenyl(morpholino)phosphinodithioate).Gel@GYY has a remarkable adhesion ability and long retention time,which not only enables responsive release of low-dose H2S in stomach and subsequently sustained release of H2S in the whole intestinal tract especially in the colon,but also ensures a close contact between H2S and GI *** released H2S can effectively scavenge free radicals induced by X-ray radiation,reduce lipid peroxidation level,repair DNA damage and recover vital superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase ***,the released H2S inhibits radiation-induced activation of nuclear factorκB(NF-κB),thus reducing inflammatory cytokines levels in GI *** treatment,Gel@GYY displays efficient excretion from mice body due to its *** work provides a new insight for therapeutic application of intelligent H2S-releasing oral delivery system and potential alternative to clinical GI physical damage protectant.

Background:Homoharringtonine(HHT)is an effective anti-inflammatory,anti-viral,and anti-tumor protein synthesis inhibitor that has been applied ***,we explored the therapeutic effects of HHT in a mouse heart transplant ***:Healthy C57BL/6 mice were used to observe the toxicity of HHT in the liver,kidney,and hematology.A mouse heart transplantation model was constructed,and the potential mechanism of HHT prolonging allograft survival was evaluated using Kaplan-Meier analysis,immunostaining,and bulk RNA sequencing *** HHT-T cell crosstalk was modeled ex vivo to further verify the molecular mechanism of HHT-induced regulatory T cells(Tregs)***:HHT inhibited the activation and proliferation of T cells and promoted their apoptosis ex *** of 0.5 mg/kg HHT for 10 days significantly prolonged the mean graft survival time of the allografts from 7 days to 48 days(P<0.001)without non-immune *** allografts had long-term survival after continuous HHT treatment for 28 *** significantly reduced lymphocyte infiltration in the graft,and interferon-γ-secreting CD4^(+)and CD8^(+)T cells in the spleen(P<0.01).HHT significantly increased the number of peripheral Tregs(about 20%,P<0.001)and serum interleukin(IL)-10 *** downregulated the expression of T cell receptor(TCR)signaling pathway-related genes(CD4,H2-Eb1,TRAT1,and CD74)and upregulated the expression of IL-10 and transforming growth factor(TGF)-βpathway-related genes and Treg signature genes(CTLA4,Foxp3,CD74,and ICOS).HHT increased CD4^(+)Foxp3^(+)cells and Foxp3 expression ex vivo,and it enhanced the inhibitory function of inducible ***:HHT promotes Treg cell differentiation and enhances Treg suppressive function by attenuating the TCR signaling pathway and upregulating the expression of Treg signature genes and IL-10 levels,thereby promoting mouse heart allograft *** findings may have therapeutic implications for organ tr

BACKGROUND Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is a highly fatal disease with limited effective treatment especially after first-line *** human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER-2)immunohistochemistry(IHC)positive is associated with more aggressive clinical behavior and shorter overall survival in *** SUMMARY We present a case of multiple metastatic PDAC with IHC mismatch repair proficient but HER-2 IHC weakly positive at diagnosis that didn’t have tumor regression after first-line nab-paclitaxel plus gemcitabine and PD-1 inhibitor treatment.A novel combination therapy PRaG 3.0 of RC48(HER2-antibody-drug conjugate),radio-therapy,PD-1 inhibitor,granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor and interleukin-2 was then applied as second-line therapy and the patient had confirmed good partial response with progress-free-survival of 6.5 months and overall survival of 14.2 *** had not developed any grade 2 or above treatment-related adverse events at any *** of peripheral CD8^(+) Temra and CD4^(+) Temra were increased during first two activation cycles of PRaG 3.0 treatment containing radiotherapy but deceased to the baseline during the maintenance cycles containing no *** PRaG 3.0 might be a novel strategy for HER2-positive metastatic PDAC patients who failed from previous first-line approach and even PD-1 immunotherapy but needs more data in prospective trials.
