Occupational risk assessment based on employees’ knowledge and awareness of hazards in mining

Analyses and assessments of hazards occurring in work processes are carried out by teams,in which there is usually one representative of the personnel,as the embodiment of the active participation of employees in the assessment of occupational *** is why the article presents research on all employees’knowledge and awareness about risks in their work *** research was carried out in the form of an employee survey in one of the open-pit mines,at workstations dealing with the loading and transporting of excavated *** survey included a list of 40 hazards divided into four groups:(1)hazards related to machines and equipment used,(2)hazards related to exposure,(3)hazards with an impact extending beyond the workstation and(4)hazards of an ergonomic nuisance nature,where employees were required to indicate which hazards apply to their workplaces and determine their level of signifcance,probability of occurrence and the scale of possible *** this way,a hierarchical identifcation of threats occurring at the analyzed workplaces was made,and the obtained results were used to determine the amount of occupational risk both for specifc workstations and for the whole technological *** measures of the magnitude of occupational risk obtained using the proposed method have showed that,according to the respondents,greatest risks at the workstation are associated with moving machines and vehicles and with mobile *** important risks,which were often mentioned by employees,were those directly related to their health,i.e.,related to ergonomic nuisance and *** resulting from geological and mining conditions,considered typical for mining,were important for the surveyed miners but they were not the most important owing to proper prevention,good organization of work and high safety culture The active involvement of the crew in the process of assessing occupational hazards allowed to identify the signifcance of each hazard,in t

The present study describes a new genus and species Unicohormaphis sorini,which belongs to the subfamily *** contemporary distribution of aphids belonging to the Hormaphididae family is summarized and *** to the obtained data,the climate warming in Eocene was conducive to the expansion of the family over the areas of *** climate changes,resulting from epeirogenic and orogenic movements towards the end of Eocene,led to a considerable cooling and drying of climate in the northern *** processes contributed to the shrinking down of areas covered by subtropical forests,which constituted the habitat of Hormaphididae（Cerataphidinae）.Retaining their way of life,the Cerataphidinae were forced to limit their distribution,and the representatives of the family in Europe became completely extinct.

A view is often more than just a piece of landscape,framed by the gaze and evoking *** diminishing these obvious‘tourismimportant’advantages of a view,it is noteworthy that in itself it might play the role of an interpretative tool,especially for large-scale phenomena,the knowledge and understanding of which is the goal of *** this paper,we analyze the importance of scenic drives and trails for tourism,particularly geotourism,focusing on their ability to create conditions for experiencing the dynamically changing landscapes in which lies knowledge of the natural processes shaping the Earth’s surface and the methods and degree of its resource *** issues are found in both wider and local contexts.A more detailed insight has been conducted on the basis of two,although in some sense peripheral,tourism regions from the Sudeten Mountains(southwestern Poland):Lasocki Grzbiet(a ridge)and Pasmo Lesistej(a small range).The subjects of the investigation were complex:the geotourism potential of selected viewpoints located on the most scenic routes(mostly paths and forest tracks)as well as the problems of maintenance,conservation,and protection of their educational *** work is based on desk and field research supported by results of GIS visibility analyses(conducted in the QGIS program).

A series of energy storage phosphors,Lu2O3:Tb,M(M=Hf,Zr,Ti),were investigated by means of photoand thermoluminescence techniques to compare the effect of the co-dopant from the same group of periodic table of elements on charge carriers trapping capability and trap *** of the investigated processes were tracked individually for the Tb3+in the two different metal sites offered by the Lu2O3 host-noncentrosymmetric C2 and centrosymmetric *** is proved that both Tb3+ions participate in hole trapping and electrons are immobilized in traps whose depths are defined by the *** traps,~1.79 eV,appear upon Ti addition,while Zr and Hf generate traps of very similar,~1.40-1.44 eV,*** stored energy may be released not only by means of thermal stimulation but also upon the impact of optical *** from the 390-430 nm range of wavelengths was found the most efficient in the latter *** deep red radiation of 780 nm releases most of the trapped electrons in Zr/Hf co-doped ceramics but is much less effective in the case of Tb,Ti *** scheme of electronic levels engaged in charge carriers trapping and subsequent generation of thermoand optically stimulated luminescence was constructed.

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)disease affects multiple organs,including anomalies in liver *** this review we summarize the knowledge about liver injury found during severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARSCoV-2)infection with special attention paid to possible mechanisms of liver damage and abnormalities in liver function tests allowing for the evaluation of the severity of liver *** in liver function observed in COVID-19 disease are associated with the age and sex of patients,severity of liver injury,presence of comorbidity and *** method of antiviral treatment can also impact on liver function,which manifests as increasing values in liver function ***,analysis of variations in liver function tests is necessary in evaluating the progression of liver injury to severe disease.

Euborellia annulipes Mortality and Predation on Diatraea saccharalis Eggs after Application of Chemical and Biological Insecticides

Chemical and biological insecticides have been frequently used in sugarcane fields to control insects-pests, including the sugarcane borer, Diatraea saccharalis. Among the products used, those based on chlorantraniliprole and Metarhizium anisopliae entomopathogenic fungus, stand out. Euborellia annulipes is an insect of the order Dermaptera considered a potential predator of sugarcane borer eggs. This study aimed to evaluate the direct and indirect effects of the bioinsecticide based on M. anisopliae (Metarril®) and the chemical insecticide chlorantraniliprole (Altacor®) on the mortality of E. annulipes nymphs and adults, the predation and feeding preference of earwigs in eggs treated with the formulated products. Predator mortality was evaluated for seven days after treatment, while the effect on predation was analyzed by preference tests with and without choice, using prey eggs. The products tested were selective to the predator, causing ≤ 2% mortality and not affecting predation. The application of M. anisopliae on sugarcane borer eggs favored the food preference of fourth-instar nymphs, males, and females of the predator. Our results show that Metarril® and Altacor® can be used to control D. saccharalis when associated with the predator E. annulipes.
