Combustion characteristics of low-quality lignite for different bed material sphericities in a circulating fluidized bed boiler:A numerical study

This study delves into the combustion behavior of various lignite types within a circulating fluidized bed boiler(CFBB),with a primary focus on the impact of different bed material sphericity ratios(0.5,0.7,and 0.9).Utilizing bed material with a sphericity ratio of 0.9 sourced from theÇan power plant and verified through experimentation,the research reveals several key ***,furnace temperatures tended to rise with higher sphericity ratios,albeit with variations between lignite types,particularly highlighting the complexity of this relationship in the case of GLI-Tunçbilek *** levels in the combustion chamber remained consistent across different sphericity ratios,indicating minimal influence on pressure *** combustion efficiency,especially at the bottom of the boiler,was observed at lower sphericity levels(0.5 and 0.7)forÇan lignite,as reflected in Co_(2) mole *** No_(x) emissions generally decreased with lower sphericity,the sensitivity to sphericity varied by lignite type,with Ilgın lignite showcasing low No_(x) but high So_(2) emissions,underscoring the intricate interplay between lignite properties,sphericity,and ***,this study advances our understanding of CFBB combustion dynamics,offering insights valuable for optimizing performance and emissions control,particularly in lignite-based power.

oyster(Crassostrea gigas),the main ingredient of oyster sauce,has a strong umami *** this study,three potential umami peptides,FLNQDEEAR(FR-9),FNKEE(FE-5),and EEFLK(EK-5),were identified and screened from the alcoholic extracts of the oyster using nano-HPLC-MS/MS analysis,i Umami-Scoring Card Method(i Umami-SCM)database and molecular docking(MD).Sensory evaluation and electronic tongue analysis were further used to confirm their *** threshold of the three peptides ranged from 0.38 to 0.55 mg/m *** with umami receptors T1R1/T1R3 indicated that the electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bond interaction were the main forces ***,the Phe592 and Gln853 of T1R3 were the primary docking site for MD and played an important role in umami *** with two Glu residues at the terminus had stronger umami,especially at the *** results contribute to the understanding of umami peptides in oysters and the interaction mechanism between umami peptides and umami receptors.

Management of Spontaneous Intracerebral Haemorrhage (sICH) at the University Hospital of Brazzaville (CoNGo)

Spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage (sICH) is characterised by bleeding within the brain parenchyma, without any accompanying vascular malformation, parenchymal abnormality or coagulation disorder. The study aimed to depict the management of sICH at the University Hospital of Brazzaville (UHB). It was an observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional analysis. data collection was conducted retrospectively, covering the period from January 1, 2020 to August 31, 2022, spanning two years and eight months. The study examined socio-demographic, diagnostic, therapeutic, and evolutionary variables. We included 274 cases. We observed 160 men (58.4%) and 114 women (41.6%), resulting in a sex ratio of 1.4. The mean age was 55.3 ± 11.4 years, with ages ranging from 31 to 93 years. The detection of sICH was typically a result of experiencing motor deficits (59.5%) or disorders of consciousness (37.2%). The weightiness of one half of the body was the most common reason for seeking medical advice. Hematoma was capsulo-lenticular in 159 cases (58%) and capsulo-thalamic in 63 cases (23%). Hematomas were 30 ml in 112 cases (40.9%), and associated with hydrocephalus in 11.7% of cases. Conservative medical treatment was administered in 257 cases (94.2%) while surgical treatment was performed in 16 cases (5.8%). The surgical techniques used were external ventricular drainage (EVD) in 2 cases, ventriculo-peritoneal shunt in 5 cases, and hematoma evacuation in 10 cases. Death occurred before the 7th day of hospitalisation in 73 cases (57.8%) and after in 46 cases (42.2%). The median time to death was four days (Q1 = 2 days;Q3 = 7 days), with extremes of 0 and 216 days. .

Comparative Study of Neurosurgical Complications of Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Disease

Introduction: Sickle cell disease and thalassemia are the most frequent hemoglobinopathies. During their evolution, they present certain complications, among which are two neurosurgical emergencies, namely spontaneous cranial epidural hematoma and non traumatic radiculo-medullary compression, with some particularities for each. Method: In order to highlight these particularities, we compared the characteristics of these two complications, from a number of publications reported between 2000 and 2021. Results: Sickle cell disease was complicated by spontaneous cranial epidural hematoma. Forty-two cases were reported, the mean age was 14.7 years (2 - 21 years) and the sex ratio was 6.4. The clinical presentation combined, in a non-traumatic context, signs of intracranial hypertension with those of neurological focalization. Neuroimaging showed epidural-type collection, often frontal and parietal in location. The incriminating mechanisms were ischemia, hemorrhage and extra medullary hematopoiesis. The treatment was surgical. Non traumatic radiculo-medullary was the complication of thalassemia. of the 77 cases reported, the mean age was 27.5 years (9 - 66 years) and the sex ratio was 4.1. The lesions were epidural with a clear thoracic predominance and resulted from extra marrow hematopoiesis. Treatment included: hypertransfusion, radiotherapy, hydroxyurea and surgery. Vital and functional prognosis were globally satisfactory when the management was rapid. Conclusion: Cranial and spinal epidural lesions, respective complications of sickle cell disease and thalassemia, result from similar mechanisms. Their prognosis depends on the rapidity of management. .

Effect of Wood-drying Condensate on Emission of Volatile organic Compounds and Bonding Properties of Fibreboard

Potential use of condensate generated by cooling the steam obtained during high-frequency/vacuum drying step of hardwood lumber was *** liquid condensates were obtained from oak,beech and walnut *** liquid condensate was then used as a replacement for deionized water in the synthesis of Urea-Formaldehyde(UF)resin(5 wt%of total resin)using a laboratory scale *** Density Fibreboards(MDFs)were produced using control and modified *** of Volatile organic Compounds(VoCs)from the MDFs were determined by Micro Chamber *** bonding properties of the MDFs were determined according to European *** main VoC emissions from MDFs produced using UF resin containing the condensate were a-Pinene,b-Pinene,careen,and acetic acid,which were lower than those of the control MDF,except for the acetic acid emission of MDF with oak *** the tree species,the beech wood condensate gave the lowest VoC emissions(732μg·m^-3)from the MDFs,followed by the MDFs containing walnut wood condensate(852μg·m^-3),oak wood condensate(998μg·m^-3),and control MDF(3529μg·m^-3),***,the internal bond strength of MDFs containing the condensate was negatively impacted by the condensate(0.70 N·mm^-2 to 0.54 N·mm^-2 depending on the tree species).The results showed that the liquid wood-drying condensate which generally released to the ground could be efficiently used as an alternative to expensive VoCs scavenger used in the production of UF resin bonded *** may be one of the most efficient uses of the condensate in high value-added materials.

Applying a Context-based Method to Build a Knowledge Graph for the Blue Amazon

Knowledge graphs are employed in several tasks,such as question answering and recommendation systems,due to their ability to represent relationships between *** constructing such a graphs,however,remains an unresolved challenge within knowledge *** tackle this challenge,we propose CtxKG,a method specifically aimed at extracting knowledge graphs in a context of limited resources in which the only input is a set of unstructured text *** is based on openIE(a.relationship triple extraction method)and BERT(a language model)and contains four stages:the extraction of relationship triples directly from text;the identification of synonyms across triples;the merging of similar entities;and the building of bridges between knowledge graphs of different *** method distinguishes itself from those in the current literature(i)through its use of the parse tree to avoid the overlapping entities produced by base implementations of openIE;and(ii)through its bridges,which create a connected network of graphs,overcoming a limitation similar methods have of one isolated graph per *** compare our method to two others by generating graphs for movie articles from Wikipedia and contrasting them with benchmark graphs built from the oMDb movie *** results suggest that our method is able to improve multiple aspects of knowledge graph *** also highlight the critical role that triple identification and named-entity recognition have in improving the quality of automatically generated graphs,suggesting future paths for ***,we apply CtxKG to build BlabKG,a knowledge graph for the Blue Amazon,and discuss possible improvements.

A VHDL application for kinematic equation solutions of multi-degree-of-freedom systems

As kinematic calculations are complicated, it takes a long time and is difficult to get the desired accurate result with a single processor in real-time motion control of multi-degree-of-freedom(MDoF) systems. Another calculation unit is needed, especially with the increase in the degree of freedom. The main central processing unit(CPU) has additional loads because of numerous motion elements which move independently from each other and their closed-loop controls. The system designed is also complicated because there are many parts and cabling. This paper presents the design and implementation of a hardware that will provide solutions to these problems. It is realized using the Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language(VHDL) and field-programmable gate array(FPGA). This hardware is designed for a six-legged robot and has been working with servo motors controlled via the serial port. The hardware on FPGA calculates the required joint angles for the feet positions received from the serial port and sends the calculated angels to the servo motors via the serial port. This hardware has a co-processor for the calculation of kinematic equations and can be used together with the equipment that would reduce the electromechanical mess. It is intended to be used as a tool which will accelerate the transition from design to application for robots.

Magnesium and aluminum alloys continually attract interest as lightweight structural materials for transport applications. However, joining these dissimilar alloys is very challenging. The main obstacle that hinders progress in dissimilar Mg-Al joining is the formation of brittle intermetallic compounds(IMCs). As a solid-state joining technique, FSW is an excellent candidate to attenuate the deleterious IMC effects in dissimilar Al-Mg joining due to the inherent low heat inputs involved in the process. However, the IMCs, namely Al_(3)Mg_(2) and Al_(12)Mg_(17) phases, have also been reported to form during Al-Mg dissimilar FSW;their amount and thickness depend on the heat input involved;thus,the weld parameters used. Since the heat dissipated in the material during the welding process significantly affects the amount of IMCs,the heat input during FSW should be kept as low as possible to control and reduce the amount of IMCs. This review aims to critically discuss and evaluate the studies conducted in the dissimilar Al/Mg FSW through a scientometric analysis and also with a focus on the strategies recently applied to enhance joint quality. The scientometric analysis showed that the main research directions in Mg/Al FSW are the technological weldability of aluminum and magnesium during FSW, structural morphology, and mechanical properties of dissimilar welded joints. Considering the scope of application of the aforementioned joints, the low share of articles dealing with environmental degradation and operational cracking is surprising. This might be attributed to the need for well-developed strategies for obtaining high-quality and sustainable joints for applications. Thus, the second part of this review is conventional, focusing mainly on the new strategies for obtaining high-quality Mg/Al joints.
