Synergistic effect of bonding heterogeneity and phonon localization in introducing excellent thermoelectric properties in layered heteroanionic NdZnSbO material

Layered rare-earth metal oxides,harnessing the dual properties of oxides and two-dimensional layered materials,exhibit remarkable thermal stability and quantum confinement ***,this work adopts the first-principles calculation combined with the Boltzmann transport theory to predict the thermoelectric properties of NdZnSbO *** coexistence of weak interlayer van der Waals interactions,robust intralayer ionic bonding,and partial covalent bonding leads to remarkable bonding heterogeneity,which engenders pronounced phonon scattering and imposes constraints on thermal transport along the out-of-plane *** weakened chemical bonds induced by the antibonding states,together with the rattling-like behavior of the Zn atom,culminate in the profound anharmonicity in the layered NdZnSbO *** weakening bond and heavy element contribute to the softness of phonon modes,which significantly diminishes the phonon group *** redistribution-dominated four-phonon scattering process spans a large optical gap,which effectively reduces the lattice thermal *** NdZnSbO compound exhibits direct semiconductor characteristic with a bandgap of 0.73 e V by adopting the Heyd-Scuseria-Ernzerhof(HSE06)functional in combination with spin–orbit coupling(SOC)*** multi-valley feature of NdZnSbO compound augur favorably for band degeneracy,thus amplifying the power ***,an optimal figure-of-merit(ZT)of 3.40 at 900 K is achieved for the n-type NdZnSbO *** present study delves deeply insights into the origins for the low thermal conductivity of NdZnSbO compound and proposes an optimization scheme to enhance overall thermoelectric performance.

BACKGROUND Gallbladder neuroendocrine carcinoma(NEC)represents a subtype of gallbladder malignancies characterized by a low incidence,aggressive nature,and poor *** its clinical severity,the genetic alterations,mechanisms,and signaling pathways underlying gallbladder NEC remain *** SUMMARY This case study presents a rare instance of primary gallbladder NEC in a 73-year-old female patient,who underwent a radical cholecystectomy with hepatic hilar lymphadenectomy and resection of liver segments IV-B and *** gene sequencing and bioinformatics analysis tools,including STRING,GeneMANIA,Metascape,TRRUST,Sangerbox,cBioPortal and GSCA,were used to analyze the biological functions and features of mutated genes in gallbladder *** mutations(APC,ARID2,IFNA6,KEAP1,RB1,SMAD4,TP53,BTK,GATA1,GNAS,and PRDM3)were identified,and the tumor mutation burden was determined to be 9.52 muts/Mb via targeted gene sequencing.A protein-protein interaction network showed significant interactions among the twelve mutated *** Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analyses were used to assess mutation functions and *** results revealed 40 tumor-related pathways.A key regulatory factor for gallbladder NEC-related genes was identified,and its biological functions and features were compared with those of gallbladder *** Gallbladder NEC requires standardized *** with other gallbladder carcinomas revealed clinical phenotypes,molecular alterations,functional characteristics,and enriched pathways.

Multi-Branch Deepfake Detection Algorithm Based on Fine-Grained Features

With the rapid development of deepfake technology,the authenticity of various types of fake synthetic content is increasing rapidly,which brings potential security threats to people’s daily life and social ***,most algorithms define deepfake detection as a binary classification problem,i.e.,global features are first extracted using a backbone network and then fed into a binary classifier to discriminate true or ***,the differences between real and fake samples are often subtle and local,and such global feature-based detection algorithms are not optimal in efficiency and *** this end,to enhance the extraction of forgery details in deep forgery samples,we propose a multi-branch deepfake detection algorithm based on fine-grained features from the perspective of fine-grained ***,to address the critical problem in locating discriminative feature regions in fine-grained classification tasks,we investigate a method for locating multiple different discriminative regions and design a lightweight feature localization module to obtain crucial feature representations by augmenting the most significant parts of the feature ***,using information complementation,we introduce a correlation-guided fusion module to enhance the discriminative feature information of different ***,we use the global attention module in the multi-branch model to improve the cross-dimensional interaction of spatial domain and channel domain information and increase the weights of crucial feature regions and feature *** conduct sufficient ablation experiments and comparative *** experimental results show that the algorithm outperforms the detection accuracy and effectiveness on the FaceForensics++and Celeb-DF-v2 datasets compared with the representative detection algorithms in recent years,which can achieve better detection results.

Phenotypic and Behavioral Defects Induced by Iron Exposure Can Be Transferred to Progeny in Caenorhabditis elegans

Objective Previous work has showed that excess iron accumulation is harrnftd to reproduction and even promotes death; however, whether the multiple biological toxicity of iron （Fe） exposure could be transferred to progeny remains unknown. The present study used Caenorhabditis elegans to analyze the multiple toxicities of iron exposure and their possible transferable properties. Methods Three concentrations of iron sulfate solution （2.5μmol/L, 75μmol/L, and 200 μmol/L） were used. The endpoints of lifespan, body size, generation time, brood size, head thrash and body bend frequencies, and chemotaxis plasticity were selected to investigate Fe toxicity and its effect on progeny in Caenorhabditis elegans. Results The Fe toxicity could cause multiple biological defects in a dose-dependent manner by affecting different endpoints in nematodes. Most of the multiple biological defects and behavior toxicities could be transferred from Fe-exposed Caenorhabditis elegans to their progeny. Compared to the parents, no recovery phenotypes were observed for some of the defects in the progeny, such as body bend frequency and life span. We further summarized the defects caused by Fe exposure into 2 groups according to their transferable properties. Conclusion Our results suggest that Fe exposure could cause multiple biological defects, and most of these severe defects could be transferred from Fe exposed nematodes to their progeny.

Prokaryotic Expression, Ascitic Polyclonal Antibody Preparation and Identification of Cashmere Goat Izumo1

Izumol is a novel member of the immunoglobulin superfamily locating on sperm, and is indispensable for sperm-egg fusion. According to its immunoglobulin-like domain in the extracellular region, Izumol was fractionated into 6 fragments （F0-F5） which were ligated with pGEX-4T1 to construct the prokaryotic expression vectors pGEX-Fn. The recombinant plasmids were transformed into Escherichia coli BL21 （DE3） and the GST-Fn fusion proteins were expressed successfully by induction with IPTG. GST-F0, a recombinant fusion protein of GST with the full length of extracellular region of mature cashmere goat Izumol, was purified by polyacrylamide gel slicing method and was used as an antigen to immunize the Kunming mouse to generate anti-GST-Izumol ascetic polyclonal antibody with intraperitoneal injection of S 180 cells. Subsequently, the anti-GST-Izumol polyclonal antibody was purified with miscellaneous antigen by glutaraldehyde cross-linking method. Western blotting analysis showed that the purified ascetic polyclonal antibody had high affinity to all 6 GST-Izumol fragment fusion proteins. Immunohistochemical analysis with this antibody displayed that the cashmere goat Izumol proteins were at the equatorial segment of sperm head surface. These results indicate that this polyclonal antibody has high specificity and lays the foundations for further study on the expression pattern of Izumol in cashmere goat testis and binding abilities of each extra-membrane fragment of Izumol to the egg surface.

Thermoelectric performance of Bi_(2)Sn_(2)Te_(6)monolayer with ultralow lattice thermal conductivity induced by hybrid bonding properties:A theoretical prediction

The crystal structure,mechanical stability,phonon dispersion,electronic transport properties and thermoelectric(TE)performance of the Bi_(2)Sn_(2)Te_(6)monolayer are assessed with the first-principles calculations and the Boltzmann transport *** Bi_(2)Sn_(2)Te_(6)monolayer is an indirect semiconductor with a band gap of 0.91 eV using the Heyd-Scuseria-Ernzerhof(HSE06)functional in consideration of the spin-orbit coupling(SOC)*** Bi_(2)Sn_(2)Te_(6)monolayer is high thermodynamically and mechanically stable by the assessments of elastic modulus,phonon dispersion curves,and ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMD)*** hybrid bonding characteristics are discovered in Bi_(2)Sn_(2)Te_(6)monolayer,which is advantageous for phonon *** antibonding interactions near the Fermi level weaken the chemical bonding and reduce the phonon vibrational *** to the short phonon relaxation time,strong anharmonic scattering,large Grüneisen parameter,and small phonon group velocity,an ultralow lattice thermal conductivity(0.27 W/(m·K)@300 K)is achieved for the Bi_(2)Sn_(2)Te_(6)*** optimal dimensionless figure of merit(ZT)values for the n-type and p-type Bi_(2)Sn_(2)Te_(6)monolayers are 2.68 and 1.63 at 700 K,respectively,associated with a high TE conversion efficiency of 20.01%at the same ***,the Bi_(2)Sn_(2)Te_(6)monolayer emerges as a promising candidate for TE material with high conversion efficiency.

Rattling-like behavior and band convergence induced ultra-low lattice thermal conductivity in MgAl_(2)Te_(4) monolayer

Inspired by the excellent stability exhibited by experimentally synthesized two-dimensional(2D)MoSi_(2)N_(4) layered material,the thermal and electronic transport,and thermoelectric(TE)properties of MgAl2Te4 monolayer are systematically investigated using the First-principles calculations and Boltzmann transport *** mechanical stability,dynamic stability,and thermal stability(900 K)of the MgAl_(2)Te_(4) monolayer are demonstrated,*** MgAl_(2)Te_(4) monolayer exhibits a bandgap of 1.35 eV using the HSE06 functional in combination with spin-orbit coupling(SOC)*** convergence in the valence band is favorable to improve the thermoelectric *** rattling thermal damping effect caused by the weak bonding of Mgsingle bondTe bonds in MgAl2Te4 monolayer leads to ultra-low lattice thermal conductivity(0.95/0.38 W/(m·K)@300 K along the x-/y-direction),which is further demonstrated by the phonon group velocities,phonon relaxation time,Grüneisen parameters,and scattering *** optimal zT of 3.28 at 900 K is achieved for the p-type MgAl_(2)Te_(4) monolayer,showing the great promising prospect for the excellent p-type thermoelectric *** current work not only reveals the underlying mechanisms responsible for the excellent TE properties,but also elaborates on the promising thermoelectric application of MgAl_(2)Te_(4) monolayer material at high temperature.

P2X4 receptor participates in autophagy regulation in Parkinson’s disease

Dysfunctional autophagy often occurs during the development of neurodegenerative diseases,such as Parkinson’s disease,Huntington’s disease,and Alzheimer’s *** purinergic P2X4 receptor is an ATP-gated ion channel that is widely expressed in the microglia,astrocytes,and neurons of the central and peripheral nervous systems.P2X4R is involved in the regulation of cellular excitability,synaptic transmission,and ***,the role played by P2X4R in Parkinson’s disease remains poorly *** models of Parkinson’s disease were established by injecting 6-hydroxydopamine into the substantia nigra pars compacta.P2X4R-targeted small interfering RNA(siRNA)was injected into the same area 1 week before injury induction to inhibit the expression of the P2X4 *** results showed that the inhibition of P2X4 receptor expression in Parkinson’s disease model rats reduced the rotation behavior induced by apomorphine treatment,increased the latency on the rotarod test,and upregulated the expression of tyrosine hydroxylase,brain-derived neurotrophic factor,LC3-II/LC3-I,Beclin-1,and phosphorylated tropomyosin receptor kinase B(TrkB)in brain tissue,while simultaneously reducing p62 *** findings suggest that P2X4 receptor activation might inhibit neuronal autophagy through the regulation of the brain-derived neurotrophic factor/TrkB signaling pathway,leading to dopaminergic neuron damage in the substantia nigra and the further inhibition of P2X4 receptor-mediated *** results indicate that P2X4 receptor might serve as a potential novel target for the treatment of Parkinson’s *** study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University(approval ***26119)on April 12,2016.
