Improved Energy Management Strategy for Prosumer Buildings with Renewable Energy Sources and Battery Energy Storage Systems

The concept of utilizing microgrids(MGs)to convert buildings into prosumers is gaining massive popularity because of its economic and environmental *** pro-sumer buildings consist of renewable energy sources and usually install battery energy storage systems(BESSs)to deal with the uncertain nature of renewable energy ***,because of the high capital investment of BESS and the limitation of available energy,there is a need for an effective energy management strategy for prosumer buildings that maximizes the profit of building owner and increases the operating life span of *** this regard,this paper proposes an improved energy management strategy(IEMS)for the prosumer building to minimize the operating cost of MG and degradation factor of ***,to estimate the practical operating life span of BESS,this paper utilizes a non-linear battery degradation *** addition,a flexible load shifting(FLS)scheme is also developed and integrated into the proposed strategy to further improve its *** proposed strategy is tested for the real-time annual data of a grid-tied solar photovoltaic(PV)and BESS-powered AC-dC hybrid MG installed at a commercial ***,the scenario reduction technique is used to handle the uncertainty associated with generation and load *** validate the performance of the proposed strategy,the results of IEMS are compared with the well-established energy management *** simulation results verify that the proposed strategy substantially increases the profit of the building owner and operating life span of ***,FLS enhances the performance of IEMS by further improving the financial profit of MG owner and the life span of BESS,thus making the operation of prosumer building more economical and efficient.

Payment Channel Networks(PCNs)are a promising alternative to improve the scalability of a blockchain network.A PCN employs off-chain micropayment channels that do not need a global block confirmation procedure,thereby sacrificing the ability to confirm transactions *** uses a routing algorithm to identify a path between two users who do not have a direct channel between them to settle a *** performance of most of the existing centralized path-finding algorithms does not scale with network *** rapid growth of Bitcoin PCN necessitates considering distributed ***,the existing decentralized algorithms suffer from resource *** present a decentralized routing algorithm,Swift,focusing on fee *** concept of a secret path is used to reduce the path length between a sender and a receiver to optimize the ***,we reduce a network structure into combinations of cycles to theoretically study fee optimization with changes in cloud *** secret path also helps in edge load sharing,which results in an improvement of *** routing achieves up to 21%and 63%in fee and throughput optimization,*** results from the simulations follow the trends identified in the theoretical analysis.

during the decommissioning of the Fukushima daiichi nuclear power plant,it is important to consider the retrieval of resolidified debris both in air and underwater *** the subsequent retrieval of debris from the reactor building,the resolidified debris must be cut into smaller pieces using various cutting *** the cutting process,aerosol particles are expected to be generated at the submicron *** has been noted that such aerosols sizing within the Greenfield gap(0.1-1μm)are difficult to remove effectively using traditional spraying ***,to improve the aerosol removal efficiency of the spray system,a new aerosol agglomeration method was recently proposed,which involves injecting water mist to enlarge the sizes of the aerosol particles before removing them using water *** this study,a series of experiments were performed to clarify the proper spray configurations for effective aerosol scavenging and to improve the performance of the water *** experimental results showed that the spray flow rate and droplet characteristics are important factors for the aerosol-scavenging efficiency and performance of the water *** results obtained from this study will be helpful for the optimization of the spray system design for effective aerosol scavenging during the decommissioning of the Fukushima daiichi plant.

Adult male and female golden mahseer(n=10-12)were collected during summer,monsoon,pre-winter and winter for evaluating gonadal seasonality,condition factor(CF),viscera-hepatosomatic index(VHSI),hepatocyte density(Hd)and muscle fatty acid(FA)*** summer and monsoon,all males,but only 67%and 71%of females,were spawning capable in respective *** pre-winter,males were mostly in regressing,but females were in regenerating *** winter,50%of males and 14%of females were in the early spawning capable *** and Hd,in males only,were respectively highest and lowest in winter,indicating their nutrient recovery starting in pre-winter and completing in *** muscle FA profile of females only was linked to gonadal status,where C20:1,C22:1,C18:3n-6,C18:3n-3,C20:4n-3,C22:6n-3,total n-3 and n-6 FAs were depleted in peak spawning ***,it was found that their spawning peak falls in summer and monsoon,but few early and late spawners were detected in winter and pre-winter,*** and females exhibited a different reproduction-linked nutrient allocation pattern;hepatic nutrient dynamic was prominent in males,but muscle FA dynamic was pronounced in *** dynamic was similar in both sexes.
