The captive white-tailed deer industry has an estimated impact of 1.6 billion USd in the state of Texas alone. However, nutritional requirements for cervids are determined through research based on sheep and goats. The objective of this study was to determine the effects of zinc on differences in dry matter digestibility in vitro for white-tailed does (Odocoileus virginianus). deer (n = 2) were ethically harvested, rumens were collected, and placed into a cooler containing warm water. Rumen contents were agitated, and fluid was filtered using cheese cloth while applying CO2. Fluid was placed into four separate incubator jars with filter bags containing a 1:1 alfalfa to coastal hay blend. Zinc doses of 0.073 mg/kg/d equivalents were added to two of the jars ( Zn), and the additional two jars received 0.00 mg/kg/d (CON). Following 48 h of incubation, in vitro true digestibility (IVTd) showed no significant differences between the control and the treatment groups. Average dry matter digested in vitro was 91.87% and 95.13%, respectively. There were no differences detected in AdF, NdF, IVTd, or Om between the treatment groups. While no detectable differences were observed in this study, this methodology did prove to be viable and functional for microbial digestion in vitro. This study can be replicated with multiple experimental units to confirm the observations of increased digestibility. Formal nutritional guidelines can be created to allow for more efficient feeding of cervids thereby reducing feed costs and continuing the growth of the captive deer industry.

The paper comprises new analytical data on the nature and occurrence of gold in solid pyrobitumen,closely associated with the main gold-bearing sulfide arsenic ores of the Bakyrchik gold deposit(Kazakhstan),related to post-collisional magmatic-hydrothermal *** mineralization of the deposit occurs mainly in the form of an“invisible”type of gold in the structures of arsenian pyrite and arsenopyrite,and the form of gold-organic compounds of pyrobitumen in carbonaceous-terrigenous sequences of Carboniferous *** and electron microscopic analysis,Raman and FT-Infrared analysis,mineralogical and three-step sequential extraction analysis(NH2OHHCl,H2O2,HNO3?HCl)has been carried out using 9 ore samples(from 3 different types of ores)for a comprehensive study of pyrobitumen and sulfide arsenic ores focusing mainly on organic *** sequentially extracted precious metal content of pyrobitumen reaches up to 7 ppm gold and other metals like Ag 4 ppm,Pt 31 ppb,and Pd 26 ppb,forming metal–organic compounds,while arsenic sulfide minerals incorporate 11 ppm gold,39 ppm Ag,0.49 ppm *** enrichment of gold associating with organic matter and sulfide ore minerals was confirmed in this *** matter was active in the migration of gold and the capture of gold by ***,the reductive organic matter agent released gold,most likely for the sulfide arsenic ore *** was a decisive factor in the concentration,transportation,and preservation of gold in the deposit.

This study examines the rate of female answers to conspecific versus heterospecific male vibratory calls in three,closely related stonefly species:Zwicknia bifrons,***,and *** a previous study those three species were recognized on the basis of their distinct male drumming calls along with differences in genital morphology and genetic *** this study no-choice playback experiments using original male call samples from each species were performed,and the answer rate of females to con・specific and heterospecific signal variants was *** effect logistic regression models were used to test if male call species identity had a statistically significant effect on female answer *** answered conspecific male calls with significantly higher probability than heterospecific calls in all the three examined species,suggesting that the divergence of vibrational communication can be an important component of the prezygotic isolation between ***,but well detectable responsiveness to heterospecific calls was observable between *** and ***,the two species closest to each other regarding mitochondrial genetic divergence and male call pattern ***,our results are most congruent with a tight,gradual coevolution of male calls and female preferences.

AIm: To evaluate donation after circulatory death (dCd) orthotopic liver transplant outcomes [hypoxic cholangiopathy (HC) and patient/graft survival] and donor ***: From 2003-2013, 45 dCd donor transplants were performed. Predonation physiologic data from UNOS donorNet included preoperative systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, pH, SpO2, PaO2, FiO2, and hemoglobin. mean arterial blood pressure was computed from the systolic and diastolic blood pressures. donor preoperative arterial O2 content was computed as [hemoglobin (gm/dL) × 1.37 (mL O2/gm) × SpO2%) + (0.003 × PaO2)]. The amount of preoperative donor red blood cell transfusions given and vasopressor use during the intensive care unit stay were documented. donors who were transfused ≥ 1 unit of red-cells or received ≥ 2 vasopressors in the preoperative period were categorized as the red-cell/multi-pressor group. Following withdrawal of life support, donor ischemia time was computed as the number-of-minutes from onset of diastolic blood pressure mmHg until aortic cross clamping. donor hypoxemia time was the number-of-minutes from onset of pulse oximetry mping. donor hypoxia score was (ischemia time + hypoxemia time) ÷ donor preoperative ***: The 1, 3, and 5 year graft and patient survival rates were 83%, 77%, 60%; and 92%, 84%, and 72%, respectively. HC occurred in 49% with 16% requiring retransplant. Objective. To examine a nationally representative sample of US children aged 6 to 16 years old and determine whether there are differences in risk factors and measures of severity between children with different asthma phenotypes. methods. We analyzed data from the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. We used questionnaire and skin-prick testing data to separate children into the following mutually exclusive categories: atopic asthma, nonatopic asthma, resolved asthma, frequent respiratory symptoms with no asthma diagnosis, and normal. We used multivariate regression to determine whether demographic or potential risk factors varied between phenotypes and whether measures of severity varied by phenotype. Results. We found that 4.8%of children had atopic asthma, 1.9%had nonatopic asthma, 3.4%had resolved asthma, and 4.3%had frequent respiratory symptoms. Risk factors varied by phenotype, for example, the mean BmI was higher among children with nonatopic asthma, prenatal maternal smoking was a risk factor for resolved asthma, and child care attendance was a risk factor for frequent respiratory symptoms with no asthma diagnosis. Patients with atopic and nonatopic asthma were similar for most measures of asthma severity (medication use, health status, and lung function impairment). In contrast, patients with resolved asthma had fewer symptoms but a similar level of lung function impairment to that seen in patients with current asthma, whereas children with frequent respiratory symptoms but no asthma diagnosis had normal lung function. Conclusions. Asthma risk factors and measures of severity vary between children with different asthma phenotypes.

Introduction: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is the most common chronic inflammatory rheumatism. The increasing use of bone and joint ultrasound as a tool to aid in the detection of unrefined synovitis in developed countries, has led us to study the performance of ultrasound in the diagnosis of RA in subjects consulting in rheumatology at Cotonou. Study method: descriptive cross-sectional study of patients with RA, selected on the basis of ACR/ EULAR 2010 criteria. A complete clinical examination with imaging including X-rays and ultrasounds of the hands and feet were performed in all patients who have given their consent. The data collected was analyzed using EPI data 3.1 and SPSS 24.0 software. The significance rate was defined with a p-value d to assess agreement. Results: All 53 patients included had lesions on ultrasound. Synovitis was found in 98.1% and bone erosions in 88.7%. There was no agreement in the wrists between clinical examination and ultrasound (k = -0.116), mCP (k = -0.097) and mTP (k = -0.031). Agreement was very low at the PPI level (k = 0.03). It was low at the different sites, between ultrasound and radiographic detection of lesions (k between 0.022 - 0.22). Age, positive immunologic RA factor and biological inflammatory syndrome were associated with ultrasound erosions (p = 0.0001) and only age was associated with active synovitis (p = 0.022). Conclusion: Bone and articular ultrasound is a good complementary alternative to clinical examination and radiography diagnostic in early diagnosis of RA in our developing countries, in the absence of mRI which remains a luxury.
