Measurement of both oxygen saturation and blood flow in the retinal vessels has proved to give important information about the eye health and the onset of eye pathologies such as diabetic *** this study,we present the implementation,on a commercially available fundus camera,of a retinal imager and a retina blood flow *** retinal imager uses division of aperture to acquire nine wavelength-dependent sub-images of the *** consideration is taken to improve image transfer by measuring the optical properties of the fundus camera and modeling the optical train in *** part of the setup is calibrated with optical phantoms of known optical properties that are also used to build a lookup table(LUT)linking phantom optical properties to measured *** retina blood flow velocimeter relies on tracking clusters of erythrocytes and uses a fast acquisition camera attached to a zoom lens,with a green illumination *** is provided using a calibrated quartz capillary tube and human blood at a known flow *** properties of liquid phantoms are retrieved from measured reflectance using the LUT,and blood flow measurements in the retina are presented.

Age-related Macular degeneration(AMd)is a leading cause of blindness in the developed world,especially in aging populations,and is therefore an important target for new therapeutic ***,there have been several studies demonstrating strong associations between AMd and sites of heritable genetic variation at multiple loci,including a highly significant association at *** 10q26 risk region contains two genes,HTRA1 and ARMS2,both of which have been separately implicated as causative for the disease,as well as dozens of sites of non-coding *** date,no studies have successfully pinpointed which of these variant sites are functional in AMd,nor definitively identified which genes in the region are targets of such regulatory *** order to efficiently decipher which sites are functional in AMd phenotypes,we describe a general framework for combinatorial assembly of large‘synthetic haplotypes’along with delivery to relevant disease cell types for downstream functional *** demonstrate the successful and highly efficient assembly of a first-draft 119kb wild-type‘assemblon’covering the HTRA1/ARMS2 risk *** further propose the parallelized assembly of a library of combinatorial variant synthetic haplotypes covering the region,delivery and analysis of which will identify functional sites and their effects,leading to an improved understanding of AMd *** anticipate that the methodology proposed here is highly generalizable towards the difficult problem of identifying truly functional variants from those discovered via GWAS or other genetic association studies.

Characterization of retinal microvasculature in acute non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy using the retinal functional imager: a prospective case series

葡萄叶乙酸乙酯提取物的提取分别采用索氏提取器回流提取法和超声波提取法;抑菌活性测定采用琼脂扩散法(K-B法).索氏提取法工艺优化采用单因素试验,以金黄色葡萄球菌抑菌圈直径为考察指标,分别考察提取时间、提取温度、料液比、氧化剂、还原剂、p H值、紫外线及存放时间对葡萄叶乙酸乙酯提取物抑菌活性的影响;超声波提取法工艺优化在单因素试验的基础上采用了正交试验,以金黄色葡萄球菌抑菌圈直径为考察指标,分别考察超声功率、料液比、提取温度、提取时间对葡萄叶乙酸乙酯提取物抑菌活性的影响.结果表明:葡萄叶乙酸乙酯提取物的索氏提取法最佳提取工艺条件为:料液比为1∶30、提取温度为70℃、提取时间为3 h、p H值为8、氧化剂和还原剂浓度均为最低;超声提取法最优工艺条件为A3B3C2d1,即:料液比为1∶30、提取时间为45 min、超声功率为150 W、提取温度为50℃.在超声波提取法工艺条件下,葡萄叶乙酸乙酯提取物对金黄色葡萄球菌的抑菌圈平均直径可达1.81 cm.超声波提取法对葡萄叶中脂溶性抑菌活性成分的提取效率显著优于索氏提取法.葡萄叶乙酸乙酯提取物对金黄色葡萄球菌和白假丝酵母菌具有较显著的抑菌作用,其中对金黄色葡萄球菌抑菌活性最大,而对枯草芽孢杆菌的抑菌作用不太显著.葡萄叶乙酸乙酯提取物对4种菌种抑菌活性顺序为:金黄色葡萄球菌>白假丝酵母菌>大肠杆菌>枯草芽孢杆菌.葡萄叶乙酸乙酯提取物具有很高的抑菌活性,可作为脂溶性抑菌活性组分的来源.

Effects of Water Management,Arsenic and Phosphorus Levels on Rice Yield in High-Arsenic Soil-Water System

Aerobic rice （Oryza sativa L.） cultivation is considered an alternative production system to combat increased water scarcity and arsenic （As） contamination in the food chain. Pot experiments were conducted at the Wheat Research Centre, dinajpur, Bangladesh to examine the role of water management （WM）, As and phosphorus （P） on yield and yield attributes of boro （variety BRRI dhan 29） and aman （variety BRRI dhan 32） rice. A total of 18 treatment combinations of the three levels of As （0, 20 and 40 mg/kg） and P （0, 12.5 and 25.0 mg/kg） and two WM strategies （aerobic and anaerobic） were investigated. Yield attributes were significantly affected by increasing As levels. Grain yields of BRRI dhan 29 and BRRI dhan 32 were reduced from 63.0 to 7.7 and 35.0 to 16.5 g/pot with increasing As application, respectively, indicating a greater sensitivity of BRRI dhan 29 than BRRI dhan 32. Moreover, As toxicity was reduced with aerobic compared to anaerobic WM for all P levels. during early growth stages, phytotoxic symptoms appeared on BRRI dhan 29 and BRRI dhan 32 rice stems with increasing As levels without applying P under anaerobic WM. Under anaerobic and As-contaminated conditions, BRRI dhan 29 was highly susceptible to straighthead, which dramatically reduced grain yields. There were significant relationships between the number of effective tillers per pot and root dry weight, grain yield, and number of fertile and unfertile grains per pot for both BRRI dhan 29 and BRRI dhan 32 （P＆lt;0.001）. Our findings indicate that rice could be grown aerobically in As-contaminated areas with a reduced risk of As toxicity and yield loss.
