Sporadic venous malformations are genetic conditions primarily caused by somatic gain-of-function mutation of PIK3CA or TEK,an endothelial transmembrane receptor signaling through *** malformations are associated with pain,bleedings,thrombosis,pulmonary embolism,esthetic deformities and,in severe cases,life-threatening *** authorized medical treatment exists for patients with venous ***,we created a genetic mouse model of PIK3CA-related capillary venous malformations that replicates patient *** showed that these malformations only partially signal through AKT *** compared the efficacy of different drugs,including rapamycin,a mTORC1 inhibitor,miransertib,an AKT inhibitor and alpelisib,a PI3Kαinhibitor at improving the lesions seen in the mouse *** demonstrated the effectiveness of alpelisib in preventing vascular malformations’occurrence,improving the already established ones,and prolonging *** these findings,we were authorized to treat 25 patients with alpelisib,including 7 children displaying PIK3CA(n=16)or TEK(n=9)-related capillary venous malformations resistant to usual therapies including sirolimus,debulking surgical procedures or percutaneous *** assessed the volume of vascular malformations using magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)for each *** demonstrated improvement in all 25 *** malformations previously considered intractable were reduced and clinical symptoms were *** showed a decrease of 33.4%and 27.8%in the median volume of PIK3CA and TEK malformations respectively,over 6 months on *** conclusion,this study supports PI3Kαinhibition as a promising therapeutic strategy in patients with PIK3CA or TEK-related capillary venous malformations.

Quality assessment and hydrogeochemical characteristics of groundwater in Agastheeswaram taluk, Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu, India

The present study investigates the hydrogeochemical characteristics of groundwater quality in Agastheeswaram taluk of Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu, India. A total of 69 groundwater samples were collected during pre- and post-monsoon periods of 2011–2012. The groundwater quality assessment has been carried out by evaluating the physicochemical parameters such as pH, EC, TdS, HCO3-, Cl-, SO42-, Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+ and K+ for both the seasons. Based on these parameters, groundwater has been assessed in favor of its suitability for drinking and irrigation purpose. dominant cations for both the seasons are in the order of Na+ > Ca2+ > Mg2+ > K+ while the dominant anions for post monsoon and pre monsoon have the trends of Cl- > HCO3- > SO42- and HCO3- > Cl- > SO42-, respectively. Analytical results observed from various indices reveal that the groundwater quality is fairly good in some places. Analytical results of few samples show that they are severely polluted and incidentally found to be near the coasts, estuaries and salt pans in the study area. The Gibbs plot indicates that the majority of groundwater samples fall in rock dominant region, which indicates rock water interaction in the study area. The United States salinity(USSL) diagram shows that the groundwater is free from sodium hazards but the salinity hazard varies from low to very high throughout the study area. This reveals that the groundwater is moderately suitable for agricultural activities. The observed chemical variations in pre-monsoon and post-monsoon seasons may be the effect to rock-water interactions, ion-exchange reactions, and runoff of fertilizers from the surrounding agricultural lands.

野生灵长类夜宿地的利用方式可以明确地反映一个物种特有的生境利用方式和生存之道。2003年12月至2004年10月,我们利用可自动脱落GPS无线电项圈对云南省丽江市金丝厂的一个滇金丝猴(Rhinopithecus bieti)群体的活动进行了持续跟踪记录。本研究着重于对所研究猴群夜宿树的选择和夜宿地的利用方式的考查,并结合可能影响夜宿地选择和利用的环境因素,比如天气、季节、日均温度等做了系统分析。研究群计有180余只个体,家域面积约27.8 km^(2)。GPS项圈记录到夜宿树的有272个夜晚,由此我们确认了131个夜宿地。其中70个(54.3%)夜宿地仅利用了一次,剩余的则不同程度地多次利用(2~9次)。在这些重复利用的夜宿地中,持续利用同一夜宿点的情形共发生了19次,其中连续3个夜晚在同一夜宿地过夜的现象出现了3次,剩下的16次是连续利用同一夜宿地2次。这种连续利用同一夜宿地的情况占重复利用同一夜宿的7.0%,发生频率不高,而且几乎都出现在冬季(84.0%)。滇金丝猴对于同一夜宿地的重复造访的时间间隔约50 d。一旦发生连续重复利用的情况,猴群当天的移动距离显著缩短(527 m vs.884 m),降低了群体移动所必需的能量消耗。明显地,滇金丝猴夜宿点的选择受其当天下午和第二天早上觅食点的位置的影响。鉴于较大的群体和明显回避夜宿地重复利用的特性,提示这是猴群对家域内食物分布的行为响应,避免对同一地点的过度利用造成食物的不足。采用大量(131个)而分散的夜宿地利用方式会保证猴群能够获得充足的食物供应。此外,相较于其他树种,滇金丝猴更喜欢在云南铁杉(Tsuga dumosa)树上过夜,而且尽量不以夜宿点作为觅食点,可能与卫生和安全有关。

TSKARNA-norm Adaption Based NLMS with Optimized Fractional Order PId Controller Gains for Voltage Power Quality

Identification of the diffusion Coefficients of Pollutants ( N O 3 - and Mn2+) through the Walls of Concrete Tank and Vulnerability of the Stored Water Quality

The populations of urban centers in Congo-Brazzaville have decided to develop various methods of water storage (concrete or masonry underground tanks) for domestic use, due to shortages in the distribution of water through the public network. However, questions remain as to the physico-chemical quality of the water stored in these tanks, when these structures are built in wet and relatively polluted areas. This paper presents a model of pollutant diffusion through the cementitious matrix (concrete) of tank walls simulated at a buried reservoir. The results of the experimental and numerical simulations show that certain concrete parameters, such as porosity, permeability and diffusivity, have a significant influence on the transfer of pollutants through the concrete walls, thus altering the physico-chemical quality of the stored water. The numerical models (1d) used to predict pollutant transfer and the quality of the stored water are consistent with those of the optimal control for identifying the diffusion coefficient. Major ion concentrations appear to be correlated with system porosity and diffusion coefficient. Nevertheless, the identification of the diffusion coefficient from the optimal control method, based on an explicit numerical resolution of a finite volume PdE for the approximation of the experiment, is not consistent with that of the optimal control method.

Cryptotanshinone ameliorates cladribine-induced cognitive impairment in rats

Objective:To evaluate the neuroprotective effect of cryptotanshinone against cladribine-induced cognitive impairment in ***:Rats were administered with cladribine(1 mg/kg,p.o.)and cryptotanshinone(10 and 20 mg/kg,i.p.)for four *** tests such as Morris water maze and elevated plus maze were conducted to check memory impairment caused by *** day 29,all rats were sacrificed,and the brains were separated for estimation of neuroinflammatory factors,biochemical parameters,neurotransmitters,Aβ(1-42),blood-brain barrier permeability,nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2),and brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BdNF).Results:Treatment with cryptotanshinone dose-dependently enhanced spatial memory,improved the levels of neurotransmitter and antioxidant enzymes,and suppressed proinflammatory cytokine *** also decreased Aβ(1-42)accumulation and increased the levels of Nrf2 and BdNF in the ***,the histopathological results showed that cryptotanshinone reduced cladribine-induced neuronal death in the ***:Cryptotanshinone exhibits a promising neuroprotective effect against cladribine-induced cognitive impairment in preclinical studies,and may be a potential phytochemical for the treatment and management of cognitive impairment.

distinct expression profiles of transcriptional coactivators for thyroid hormone receptors during Xenopus laevis metamorphosis

The biological effects of thyroid hormone (T3) are mediated by the thyroid hormone receptor (TR). Amphibian metamorphosis is one of the most dramatic processes that are dependent on T3. T3 regulates a series of orchestrated developmental changes, which ultimately result in the conversion of an aquatic herbivorous tadpole to a terrestrial carnivorous frog. T3 is presumed to bind to TRs, which in turn recruit coactivators, leading to gene activation. The best-studied coactivators belong to the p160 or SRC family. Members of this family include SRC1/ NCoA-1, SRC2/TIF2/GRIP1, and SRC3/pCIP/ACTR/AIB-l/RAC-3/TRAM-1. These SRCs interact directly with liganded TR and function as adapter molecules to recruit other coactivators such as p300/CBP. Here, we studied the expression patterns of these coactivators during various stages of development. Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium breve alleviate neonatal maternal separation induced visceral hypersensitivity and non-spatial memory impairment in rats by the NGF/TrkA pathway

Irritable bowel syndrome-diarrhea （IBS-d） is a prevalent functional bowel disease severely impairs the quality of life of patients. Visceral hypersensitivity （VH） is the main symptom of IBS-d. Probiotics have been found to effectively alleviate VH. In this study， neonatal maternal separation （NMS） was used to induce VH in 72 rats and investigated the effects of daily gavage of 3*109CFU of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium on alleviating the symptoms of IBS-d and behavioral interventions， as well as exploring potential mechanisms. The results demonstrated that Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium breve could alleviate the symptoms of IBS-d such as VH and increased frequency of bowel movements， as well as improving non-spatial memory in NMS rats. These effects were achieved by modulating the composition of gut microbiota and metabolites （including short-chain fatty acids， deoxycholic acid and adenosine）， and by regulating the expression of genes and proteins associated with the NGF/TrkA signaling pathway， tryptophan metabolism， and inflammatory factors in the hippocampus. This finding suggests that Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium breve have promising potential for the alleviation of IBS.

Competitive interactions and coexistence of sympatric flagship carnivores in Asia

Understanding the competition and coexistence of flagship carnivores is key to creating strategies for their conservation in the face of global carnivore *** studies exploring the dynamics and competition between tigers(Panthera tigris)and leopards(***)span decades,there is a lack of understanding regarding the factors that influence their coexistence mechanisms on a broad scale,as well as the drivers determining their exploitative and interference *** gathered a comprehensive list of research papers among which 36 papers explored the interspecific interactions between tigers and leopards and tested the influence of biotic and abiotic factors on the coexistence mechanisms along three dimensions using multiple response variables regression models;we also tested the influence of ecological drivers determining the exploitative or interference competition between tigers and *** and ungulate density were the most important predictors in regulating the coexistence *** and leopards exhibited more positive relations/higher overlaps as elevation increased in the spatial *** addition,they showed a higher dietary overlap in the prey-rich *** determined that interference competition between tigers and leopards was less frequently observed in habitats with dense tree cover and homogeneous vegetation ***,studies with multiple metrics would promote the detection of interference *** study provides new insight into the competitive interactions and coexistence mechanisms of tigers and leopards on a broad ***-makers and managers should pay more attention to the factors of elevation,prey abundance,and habitat structures for the conservation of tigers and leopards.
