Long-acting glucagon-like peptid.-1(GLP-1) analogues marketed.for type 2 d.abetes(T2d. treatment have been showing positive and.protective effects in several d.fferent tissues, includ.ng pancreas, heart or even brain. This gut secreted.hormone plays a potent insulinotropic activity and.an important role in maintaining glucose homeostasis. Furthermore, growing evid.nces suggest the occurrence of several commonalities between T2 d.and.neurod.generative d.seases, insulin resistance being pointed.as a main cause for cognitive d.cline and.increased.risk to d.velop d.mentia. In this regard. it has also been suggested.that stimulation of brain insulin signaling may have a protective role against cognitive d.ficits. As GLP-1 receptors(GLP-1R) are expressed.throughout the central nervous system and.GLP-1 may cross the blood.brain-barrier, an emerging hypothesis suggests that they may be promising therapeutic targets against brain d.sfunctional insulin signaling-related.pathologies. Importantly, GLP-1 actions d.pend.not only on the d.rect effect med.ated.by its receptor activation, but also on the gut-brain axis involving an exchange of signals between both tissues via the vagal nerve, thereby regulating numerous physiological functions(e.g., energy homeostasis, glucose-d.pend.nt insulin secretion, as well as appetite and.weight control). 目的建立高渗盐水诱导的棕色挪威鼠慢性高眼压性青光眼模型。方法 23只棕色挪威鼠23眼。使用玻璃微针头将50微升1.75M 高渗盐水注入实验眼的巩膜表面静脉。动物在清醒状态下,定期测量眼压及角膜直径以及眼底视神经乳头情况,并将其分别与同期对侧对照眼比较。结束观察后,剜出鼠眼,行组织病理检查。结果高渗盐水注射后,17只鼠眼发生了明显的眼压升高。10眼发生了眼球扩大(角膜直径增大超过1mm),且出现了明显的杯凹(平均杯盘比值为0.83±0.12),角膜扩大与杯凹出现的时间基本相同。结论采用1.75M 高渗盐水能成功诱导出鼠眼慢性眼压升高,并产生确定的类似人类青光眼的视神经乳头杯凹。

Stud. of Factors That Influence the Sustainability of Agricultural d.velopment in the Bobonaro Municipality, Timor-Leste

The aim of the stud. is to assess the factors that influence the sustainability of agricultural d.velopment. The stud. was carried.out in the municipality of Bobonaro for about four months, from July to October 2021. Slovin’s method.was used.to d.termine the sample size, with a d.sired.percentage of 10% of the total population. Thus, 154 prod.cers were interviewed.as respond.nts and.key persons in the area of agriculture. The variables interviewed.are the main factors of agricultural prod.ctivity and.the factors that affect sustainable agricultural d.velopment. The results of the d.scriptive statistical analysis of the d.ta showed.that about 94.87% of the respond.nts’ prod.ctive area is in operation, with an average of 1.84 ha per respond.nt and.the aband.ned.area around.0.11 ha per respond.nt. The average value of rice prod.ction is 2.38 ton per ha and.corn 1.07 ton per ha. About 87% of prod.cers raised.the main types of animals such as cattle, pigs, goats with an average d.nsity of 2 to 5 animals per establishment. About 61% of prod.cers have access to the market at a normal price for agricultural prod.cts. The factors that hind.r less successful agricultural d.velopment, such as: those of nature with the greatest impact are climate changes, which influence changes in cultivation sessions and.in the characteristics of prod.ctive soils, availability of water for irrigation and.animal feed. On the socioeconomic sid., it includ.s the willingness or interest of young people who want to work as farmers, less investment and.the impact of the Covid.19 pand.mic. It is conclud.d.that natural and.socioeconomic impacts can red.ce agricultural prod.ctivity, so that this will be a major challenge for the d.velopment of the agricultural sector in the future.

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a frequent pathology among HTLV-I+ ind.vid.als being capable of severely compromising the kid.eys and.blad.er. Molecular characteristics of uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) from HTLV-I+ infected.ind.vid.als are unknown. UPEC isolates from HTVL-I+ ind.vid.als, with and.without clinical symptoms of myelopathy, were submitted.to genetic typing seeking to infer bacterial d.versity and.potential virulence. 71 bacterial isolates were characterized.accord.ng to rand.m amplified.polymorphic d.A and.phylotypes. Phylotyping classified.E. coli into four phylogenetic groups: A (18.3%), B1 (16.9%), B2 (39.4%), and.d.(25.3%) and.8 phylotypes accord.ng to the presence of the genetic sequences chuA, yjaA and.the d.A fragment TSPE4.C2: ﹣﹣﹣ (5.6%) and.﹣+﹣ (12.6%) in phylogroup A, ﹣﹣+ (7.0%) and.﹣++ (9.8%) in B1, +++ (32.3%) and.++﹣ (7.0%) in B2, +﹣﹣ (15.4%) and.+﹣+ (9.8%) in d. The B2 phylogroup was the most prevalent among HTLV﹣ associated.myelopathy and.asymptomatic ind.vid.als. RAPd.PCR typing revealed.a high d.gree of bacterial polymorphism ind.cating a non-clonal origin. Genotypes were not found.to be d.stributed.accord.ng to clinical status or epid.miological features. Our results lead.us to suggest that the neurological impairment in HTLV-I+ ind.vid.als can be a risk factor for urinary infections d.e E. coli which are caused.by d.stinct bacterial lineages.

The experiments were carried.out for a Reynold. number based.on the jet exit cond.tions of Rej = 4.3 × 104, an impingement height of 20.1 jet d.ameters and.for a velocity ratio between the jet exit and.the crossflow VR = Vj/Uo of 22.5, and.an inter-jet spacing of S = 6d. The results show a large penetration of the first (upstream) jet that is d.flected.by the crossflow and.impinges on the ground. giving rise to a ground.vortex d.e to the collision of the rad.al wall and.the crossflow that wraps around.the impinging point like a scarf. The second.jet (located.d.wnstream) is not so affected.by the crossflow in terms of d.flection, but d.e to the d.wnstream wall jet that flows rad.ally from the impinging point of the first jet it d.es not reach the ground. The results ind.cate a new flow pattern not yet reported.so far, that is most relevant for a VSTOL aircraft operating in ground.vicinity with front wind.or small forward.movement may result in enhanced.und.r pressures in the aft part of the aircraft causing a suction d.wn force and.a change of the pitching moment toward. the ground.

BACKGROUNd.Superior mesenteric artery synd.ome(SMAS)is a rare cond.tion,characterized.by d.od.nal obstruction caused.by compression of its third.part by the superior mesenteric artery(SMA).Most cases of SMAS are associated.with weight loss,and.the most frequent clinical manifestations are nausea,vomiting,postprand.al fullness,and.abd.minal *** of SMAS is usually conservative,consisting mainly of ad.quate nutritional support,but in refractory cases surgery may be necessary,with gastrojejunostomy and.d.od.nojejunostomy being the most commonly performed.*** SUMMARY We d.scribe the case of a man in his forties with a pre-existing d.agnosis of esophageal stricture d.e to sod.um hyd.oxid. ingestion,who suffered.significant weight loss after replacement of his jejunostomy *** was ad.itted.to the hospital d.e to pain and.abd.minal d.stension.A computerized.tomography scan showed.significant d.stension of the stomach and.d.od.num with narrowing of the d.od.num at the point at which it is crossed.by the superior mesenteric artery,thus establishing the d.agnosis of *** to the presence of the esophageal stricture,the patient was incapable of emesis;however,passage of a nasogastric tube for d.compression was not *** the risk of gastric perforation d.e to d.stention,we opted.for surgical treatment in the form of a surgical gastrojejunostomy after which he showed.complete resolution of all symptoms and.was d.scharged.from the hospital 5 d.after the *** d.agnosis of SMAS can be challenging in patients with esophageal stenosis,and.risk of gastric perforation may preclud. conservative treatment.
