A comparison of conventional and computer-assisted semen analysis.（CRISMAS software） using samples from 166 young danish men

The aim of the present study was to compare assessments of sperm concentration and sperm motility analysed by conventional semen analysis with those obtained by computer-assisted semen analysis （CASA）（Copenhagen Rigshospitalet Image House Sperm Motility Analysis System （CRISMAS） 4.6 software） using semen samples from 166 young danish men. The CRISMAS software identifies sperm concentration and classifies spermatozoa into three motility categories. To enable comparison of the two methods, the four motility stages obtained by conventional semen analysis were, based on their velocity classifications, divided into three stages, comparable to the three CRISMAS motility categories： rapidly progressive （A）, slowly progressive （B） and non-progressive （C＋ d）. differences between the two methods were large for all investigated parameters （P〈0.001）. CRISMAS overestimated sperm concentration and the proportion of rapidly progressive spermatozoa and, consequently, underestimated the percentages of slowly progressive and non-progressive spermatozoa, compared to the conventional method. To investigate whether results drifted according to time of semen analysis, results were pooled into quarters according to date of semen analysis. CRISMAS motility results appeared more stable over time compared to the conventional analysis; however, neither method showed any trends. Apparently, CRISMAS CASA results and results from the conventional method were not comparable with respect to sperm concentration and motility analysis. This needs to be accounted for in clinics using this software and in studies of determinants of these semen characteristics.

NOd2-and disease-specific gene expression profiles of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from Crohn's disease patients

The aim of this work is to improve the minimum time of null controllability of the 1d heat equation by using the notion of strategic zone actuators. In fact, motivated by the work of khodja on the null controllability of the heat equation and of El Jai on the controllability by the use of strategic zone actuators, we managed, in this work, to improve the minimal time of null controllability to the 1d heat equation. However, the restrictions and difficulties to establish the inequality of coercivity of the parabolic operator, require to seek other methods of internal control. Thus in this paper, a mixed method combining the method of moments and the notion of strategic profile was used to find a better minimal time of null controllability of the 1d heat equation.

Recent work showed that infants recognize and store function words starting from the age of 6–8 months. Using a visual fixation procedure, the present study tested whether French-learning 14-month-olds have the knowledge of syntactic categories of determiners and pronouns, respectively, and whether they can use these function words for categorizing novel words to nouns and verbs. The prosodic characteristics of novel words stimuli for noun versus verb uses were balanced. The only distinguishing cue was the preceding determiners versus subject pronouns, the former being the most common for nouns and the latter the most common for verbs, i.e., det + Noun, Pron + Verb. We expected that noun categorization may be easier than verb categorization because the co-occurrence of determiners with nouns is more consistent than that of subject pronouns with verbs in French. The results showed that infants grouped the individual determiners as one common class, and that they appeared to use the determiners to categorize novel words into ***, we found no evidence of verb categorization. Unlike determiners,pronouns were not perceived as a common syntactic class.

In this paper we show a boundary result of controllability by a new approach using a linear, continuous and surjective operator built from the solution of the heat system. And, subsequently, the border exact controllability of the 1d heat equation through a compactness criterion and the use of strategic zone actuators were established.

Natural killer(Nk)cell-mediated antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity(AdCC)through Cd16 plays a critical role in antihuman immunodeficiency virus(HIV)responses.1–3 Cd300a is a surface receptor highly expressed on Nk cells that has the capacity to inhibit Nk cell-mediated cytotoxicity in healthy donors.4 The Cd300a molecule has been related to several viral infections and is able to diminish the Nk cell killing of pseudorabies-infected cells through interactions with its ligands phosphatidylserine and phosphatidylethanolamine.5 In addition,Cd300a expression on B and Cd4+T lymphocytes is altered during HIV-1 infection,and combined antiretroviral therapy(cART)does not restore nonpathological expression levels.5,6 However,the expression and function of Cd300a on Nk cells during HIV-1 infection is still *** have determined the surface expression of Cd300a on different Nk cell subsets and the capacity of this receptor to inhibit Cd16-induced Nk cell effector functions in healthy and HIV-1 infected individuals.

基于甲烷-空气火焰法合成纳米颗粒的实验，建立了二维轴对称湍流火焰模型，在标准壁面函数和非平衡壁面函数的近壁面处理条件下采用RSM、Standard k-ε和RNGk-ε湍流模型对实验中的火焰进行数值模拟，给出了火焰温度场和火焰长度的数值计算结果。通过与实验结果对比，确定了用非平衡壁面函数下的RNG k—ε湍流模型进行火焰数值计算的合理性。用此模型对不同甲烷、空气流速下的火焰进行模拟，分析了影响温度场分布的主要因素，并与实验结果进行比较，两者相符，从而证明了该模型的有效性。

We describe the development of quinolylnitrones(QNs)as multifunctional ligands inhibiting cholinesterases(ChEs:acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase—h BChE)and monoamine oxidases(hMAO-A/B)for the therapy of neurodegenerative *** identified QN 19,a simple,low molecular weight nitrone,that is readily synthesized from commercially available *** 19 has no typical pharmacophoric element to suggest ChE or MAO inhibition,yet unexpectedly showed potent inhibition of h BChE(IC50=1.06±0.31 nmol/L)and h MAO-B(IC_(50)=4.46±0.18μmol/L).The crystal structures of 19 with hBChE and hMAO-B provided the structural basis for potent binding,which was further studied by enzyme *** 19 acted as a free radical scavenger and biometal chelator,crossed the blood—brain barrier,was not cytotoxic,and showed neuroprotective properties in a 6-hydroxydopamine cell model of Parkinson's *** addition,in vivo studies showed the anti-amnesic effect of 19 in the scopolamine-induced mouse model of Ad without adverse effects on motoric function and ***,chronic treatment of double transgenic APPswe-PS1δE9 mice with 19 reduced amyloid plaque load in the hippocampus and cortex of female mice,underscoring the disease-modifying effect of QN 19.
