Social relationship satisfaction and accumulation of chronic conditions and multimorbidity:a national cohort of Australian women

Background Social relationships are associated with mortality and chronic ***,little is known about the effects of social relationship satisfaction on multiple chronic conditions(multimorbidity).Aims To examine whether social relationship satisfaction is associated with the accumulation of *** data from 7694 Australian women who were free from 11 chronic conditions at 45–50 years of age in 1996 were *** types of social relationship satisfaction(partner,family members,friends,work and social activities)were measured approximately every 3 years and scored from 0(very dissatisfied)to 3(very satisfied).Scores from each relationship type were summed to provide an overall satisfaction score(range:≤5–15).The outcome of interest was the accumulation of multimorbidity in 11 chronic *** Over a 20-year period,4484(58.3%)women reported ***,the level of social relationship satisfaction had a dose–response relationship with the accumulation of *** with women reporting the highest satisfaction(score 15),women with the lowest satisfaction(score≤5)had the highest odds of accumulating multimorbidity(odds ratio(OR)=2.35,95%confidence interval(Ci):1.94 to 2.83)in the adjusted *** results were observed for each social relationship *** risk factors,such as socioeconomic,behavioural and menopausal status,together explained 22.72%of the *** Social relationship satisfaction is associated with the accumulation of multimorbidity,and the relationship is only partly explained by socioeconomic,behavioural and reproductive *** connections(eg,satisfaction with social relationships)should be considered a public health priority in chronic disease prevention and intervention.

drink tests are advocated as an inexpensive, nonivasive technique to assess gastric function in patients with a variety of upper digestive symptoms. Many patients with dyspeptic complaints will achieve satiation or develop symptoms at ingested volumes below those typically required to achieve these endpoints in controls. Substantial variation in test performance exists and a greater degree of standardization is required. Additionally, it remains unclear exactly what drink tests measure as correlations with measures of gastric sensation, accomodation and emptying are modest at best. Finally, results of drink tests do not guide therpay. At present, these tests are best reserved for research studies and are not advocated for use in clinical practice.

dana;">This study investigates the economic benefits of energy efficiency to petroleum refineries regarding Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Ghana. The study explores lessons relating to the cost of production, energy recovery levels and economic fortunes of the refinery activities and designs a conceptual framework for improving the energy efficiency of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR). The study adopted a descriptive design using a quantitative approach to provide a statistical background to investigate the economic benefits of energy efficiency. A sample of 84 was adopted for study from a staff population of 520 working at Tema Oil refinery. in addition to primary data, secondary data on energy supply and consumption values from 2008 to 2019 was gathered. For the primary survey, 84 respondents were sampled from TOR and a structured questionnaire was used to retrieve information. A correlation analysis at P ducted to test the relationship and significance of energy efficiency and economic benefits to the refinery. The study concludes that there is a linear trend between energy production (supply) and energy consumption. The energy generated in the entire economy of Ghana far exceeds the amount of energy consumed thus raising issues of waste or excesses that calls for better policies and management plan to improve EE. The study also identified that issues of lost energy are critical to the operations of the petroleum industry as the situation is compounded by the inability of the refineries to explore better ways to reduce and manage the waste. The study concludes that a significant and positive correlation between energy efficiency and the economic fortunes of Tema Oil Refinery is necessary for its economic fortunes. The supply of energy should have equivalence to the public consumption of energy.

Resolution beyond classical limits with spatial frequency heterodyning

A technique for coherent imaging based on spatial frequency heterodyning is described. Three images corresponding to three physical measurements are recorded. For the first measurement, a scene is simply illuminated with a coherent beam and for measurements 2 and 3, the scene is projected with cosine and sine fringes, respectively. due to spatial frequency heterodyning, upper and lower side hand information falls in the pass band of the imager. These bands are separated and correct phases and positions are assigned to these bands in the spatial frequency domain. An extension of bandwidth is achieved in the frequency domain and the inverse frequency domain data then give a high resolution coherent image.

Singular perturbation analysis of dynamic fields in a thermoelastic solid with a small surface-breaking crack

An asymptotic analysis is presented for a dynamic problem of a semi-infinite isotropic thermoelastic solid with a small surface breaking crack. The exterior surface of the solid is subjected to a series of short thermal pulses. The crack surface is traction free and an ideal thermal contact is assumed across the crack. The stress intensity factor is asymptotically evaluated as a function of the crack depth and time. The effect of a boundary layer associated with the diffusive term is identified. The theoretical model is supplied with numerical simulations.

Androgen receptors are expressed in a variety of human fetal extragenital tissues： an immunohistochemical study

Aim： To investigate the expression of androgen receptors in the extragenital tissues of developing human embryo. Methods： Using immunohistochemistry, we investigated the distribution of androgen receptor （AR） in the extragenital tissues of paraffin-embedded tissue sections of first trimester （8-12 weeks gestation） human embryos. Gender was determined by polymerized chain reaction. Results： There were no differences in the expression and distribution of AR in male and female embryos at any stage of gestation. AR expression was seen in the thymus gland. The bronchial epithelium of the lungs showed intense positive staining with surrounding stroma negative. Furthermore, positive staining for androgen receptor was exhibited in the spinal cord with a few positive cells in the surrounding tissues. Cardiac valves also showed strong positive staining but with faint reactivity of the surrounding cardiac muscle. There was no staining in kidney, adrenal, liver or bowel. Conclusion： This study demonstrates that immunoreactive AR protein is present in a wide variety of human first trimester fetal tissues and shows the potential for androgen affecting tissues, which are mostly not considered to be androgen dependent. Moreover, it implies that androgen might act as atrophic factor and affect the early development of these organs rather than simply sexual differentiation.

Compression tests at room and high temperature and creep tests at high temperature have been performed on B2 Nb15A120V and Nb10Al20V alloys. At room temperature, in the as-cast state, both alloys exhibited significant ductility in compression. The Burgers vectors of the dislocations were found to be 1/2lipping on {112}. The dislocations showed good mobility. dislocation clusters also triggered the formation of pseudotwins, which resulted in serrated yielding. in steady state creep, deformation occurred by a combination of dislocation glide and climb, giving a homogeneous mi-crostructure. The dislocations in NblOAl20V were determined to be 1/2(111) slipping on {110} with some egments. After creep at 1100℃, Nb 15A120V showed a two phase structure with a few dislocations in the A15 phase but no dislocations in the A2 phase.

A theoretical rigid-plastic analysis for the dynamic shear failure of beams under impulsive loading is presented when using a travelling plastic shear hinge model which tabes into account material strain hardening. The maximum dynamic shear strain and shear strain-rate can be predicted in addition to the permanent transverse deflections and other parameters. The conditions for the three modes of shear failure, i.e., excess deflection failure, excess shear strain failure and adiabatic shear failure are analyzed. The special case of an infinitesimally small plastic zone is discussed and compared with Nonaka's solution for a rigid, perfectly plastic material. The results can also be generalized to examine the dynamic response of fibre-reinforced beams.
