Electrical modulation of luminescence is significant to modern light-emitting *** transition metal dichalcogenides are emerging direct-bandgap luminescent materials with unique excitonic properties,and the multiple exciton complexes provide new opportunities to modulate the property of luminescence in atomically thin ***,we report an electrical control of exciton emission in the oscillator strength and spatial distribution of excitons in a monolayer *** modulation of excitonic emission intensity with a degree of modulation of~92%has been demonstrated by an electric field at room *** spatial carrier redistribution tuned by a lateral electric field results in distinct excitonic emission patterns by *** modulation approach to exciton oscillator strength and distribution provides an efficient way to investigate the exciton d.f.usion dynamics and to construct electrically tunable optoelectronic devices.

High-entropy materials(HEMs),which are newly manufactured compounds that contain five or more metal cations,can be a platform with desired properties,including improved electrocatalytic performance owing to the inherent ***,a strain engineering methodology is proposed to design transition-metal-based HEM by Li manipulation(LiTM)with tunable lattice strain,thus tailoring the electronic structure and boosting electrocatalytic *** confirmed by the experiments and calculation results,tensile strain in the LiTM after Li manipulation can optimize the d-band center and increase the electrical ***,the asprepared LiTM-25 demonstrates optimized oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction activity in alkaline saline water,requiring ultralow overpotentials of 265 and 42 mV at 10 mA cm−2,*** strikingly,LiTM-25 retains 94.6%activity after 80 h of a durability test when assembled as an anion-exchange membrane water ***,in order to show the general efficacy of strain engineering,we incorporate Li into electrocatalysts with higher entropies as well.

Smart city situational awareness has recently emerged as a hot topic in research societies,industries,and governments because of its potential to integrate cutting-edge information technology and solve urgent challenges that modern cities *** example,in the latest five-year plan,the Chinese government has highlighted the demand to empower smart city management with new technologies such as big data and Internet of Things,for which situational awareness is normally the crucial first *** traditional static surveillance data on cities have been available for decades,this review reports a type of relatively new yet highly important urban data source,i.e.,the big mobile data collected by devices with various levels of mobility representing the movement and distribution of public and private agents in the *** especially focus on smart city situational awareness enabled by synthesizing the localization of hundreds of thousands of mobile software Apps using the Global Positioning System(GPS).This technique enjoys advantages such as a large penetration rate(∼50%urban population covered),uniform spatiotemporal coverage,and high localization *** first discuss the pragmatic requirements for smart city situational awareness and the challenges *** we introduce two suites of empowering technologies that help fulfill the requirements of(1)cybersecurity insurance for smart cities and(2)spatiotemporal modeling and visualization for situational awareness,both via big mobile *** main contributions of this review lie in the description of a comprehensive technological framework for smart city situational awareness and the demonstration of its feasibility via real-world applications.

Based on the domain reduction method,this study employs an SEM-fEM hybrid workflow which integrates the advantages of the spectral element method(SEM)for flexible and highly efficient simulation of seismic wave propagation in a three-dimensional(3d)regional-scale geophysics model and the finite element method.f.M)for fine simulation of structural response including soil-structure interaction,and performs a physics-based simulation from initial fault rupture on an ancient wood *** verification of the hybrid workflow,a large-scale model of an ancient wood structure in the Beijing area,The Tower of Buddhist Incense,is established and its responses under the 1665 Tongxian earthquake and the 1730 Yiheyuan earthquake are *** results from the simulated ground motion and seismic response of the wood structure under the two earthquakes demonstrate that this hybrid workflow can be employed to efficiently provide insight into the relationships between geophysical parameters and the structural response,and is of great significance toward accurate input for seismic simulation of structures under specific site and.f.ult conditions.

The nanoscale confinement is of great important for the industrial applications of molecular sieve,desalination,and also essential in bio-logical transport *** efforts have been devoted to the influence of restricted spaces on the properties of confined ***,the situation of channel-wall is crucial but attracts less attention and remains *** fundamentally understand the mechanism of channel-walls in nanoconfinement,we investigated the interaction between the counter-force of the liquid and interlamellar spacing of nanochannel walls by considering the effect of both spatial confinement and surface *** results reveal that the nanochannel stables at only a few discrete spacing states when its confinement is within 1.4 *** quantized interlayer spacing is attributed to water molecules becoming laminated structures,and the stable states are corresponding to the monolayer,bilayer and trilayer water configurations,*** results can potentially help to understand the characterized interlayers spacing of graphene oxide membrane in *** findings are hold great promise in design of ion filtration membrane and artificial water/ion channels.

Constructing inbred lines for self-incompatible species and species with long generation times is challenging,making the use of f1 outcross/segregating populations the main strategy for genetic studies of such ***,there is a lack of dedicated algorithms/tools for rapid quantitative trait locus(QTL)mapping using the f1 *** this end,we have designed and developed an algorithm/tool called OcBSA specifically for QTL mapping of f1 *** transforms the four-haplotype inheritance problem from the two heterozygous diploid parents of the f1 population into the two-haplotype inheritance problem common in current genetic studies by removing the two haplotypes from the heterozygous parent that do not contribute to phenotype segregation in the f1 *** of OcBSA on 1800 simulated.f. populations demonstrated its advantages over other currently available tools in terms of sensitivity and *** addition,the broad applicability of OcBSA was validated by QTL mapping using seven reported.f. populations of apple,pear,peach,citrus,grape,tea,and *** also used OcBSA to map the QTL for flower color in a newly constructed.f. population of potato generated in this *** OcBSA mapping result was verified by the insertion or deletion markers to be consistent with a previously reported locus harboring the ANTHOCYANIN 2 gene,which regulates potato flower *** together,these results highlight the power and broad utility of OcBSA for QTL mapping using f1 populations and thus a great potential for functional gene mining in outcrossing *** ease of use,we have developed both Windows and Linux versions of OcBSA,which are freely available at:https://***/Bioinformaticslab/OcBSA.
