Structural.and mass transport properties of l.quid ytterbium in the temperature range 1123 K–1473 K

We have studied the structural.and atomic transport properties of l.quid f-shel. Yb in the temperature range 1123 K–1473 K. Pair interactions between atoms are derived using a l.cal.pseudopotential. The potential.parameters are fitted to the phonon dispersion curve at room temperature. The l.cal.pseudopotential.used in the present study is computational.y more efficient with onl. three parameters, and it is found to be transferabl. to the l.quid phase without changing the *** the various computed properties agree with reported theoretical.and experimental.findings, the adopted fitting scheme is justified. As a significant outcome of the study, we find that(i) the mel.ing in Yb is governed by the l.ndemann's l.w,(ii)the mass transport mechanism obeys the Arrhenius l.w,(iii) the rol. of the three-particl. correl.tion function in deriving the vel.city autocorrel.tion function is smal.,(iv) the mean-square atomic displ.cement is more sensitive to the choice of interaction potential.than the other bul. properties, and(v) l.quid Yb does not show l.quid–l.quid phase transition within the studied temperature range. Further, due to the good description of the structural.and mass transport properties, we propose that Yb remains dival.nt at reduced density.

Nowadays,force sensors pl.y an important rol. in industrial.production,el.ctronic information,medical.heal.h,and many other ***-dimensional.material.based fil.d effect transistor(2d-FET)sensors are competitive with nano-l.vel.size,l.wer power consumption,and accurate ***,few of them has the capabil.ty of impul.e detection which is a path function,expressing the cumul.tive effect of the force on the particl. over a period of *** we fabricated the fl.xibl. pol.methyl.methacryl.te(PMMA)gate diel.ctric MoS_(2)-FET for force and impul.e sensor *** systematical.y investigated the responses of the sensor to constant force and varying forces,and achieved the conversion factors of the drain current signal.(I_(ds))to the detected impul.e(I).The appl.ed force was detected and recorded by I_(ds)with a l.w power consumption of~30 *** sensitivity of the device can reach~8000%and the 4×1 sensor array is abl. to detect and l.cate the normal.force appl.ed on ***,there was al.ost no performance l.ss for the device as l.ft in the air for two months.

Metacognition has been divided into information monitoring and control.processes. Monitoring invol.es knowing that you know or do not know some information without taking corrective action. Control.invol.es taking corrective action based on the knowl.dge that you know or do not know some information. In comparative metacognition, considerabl. attention has been paid toward critical.y assessing putative evidence for information monitoring in non-human animal.. However, l.ss attention has been paid toward critical.y eval.ating evidence for control.processes in animal.. We briefl. review a critique of information-monitoring in animal.. Next, we appl. these concepts to a number of studies that focus on information seeking in animal.. The main type of evidence for control.processes in animal. come from tube tipping experiments. Before having the opportunity to search for the bait in these experiments, the subject sometimes observes opaque tubes being baited but is sometimes prevented from seeing the baiting. The observations that the subjects l.ok more if baiting was not seen and are more accurate if baiting was seen have been taken as evidence for metacognition in information-seeking experiments. We propose simpl. al.ernative hypotheses that are sufficient to expl.in putative evidence for information seeking in animal. without positing metacognition. The al.ernative expl.nation focuses on two rel.tivel. simpl. principl.s： First, an animal.has a defaul. ＂l.ok before you go＂ response which supersedes random searches in space. Second, spatial.y guided behavior fol.ows a defaul. rul. of ＂go where something good is.＂ These principl.s can expl.in the resul.s of tube tipping experiments without proposing metacognition [Current Zool.gy 57 （4）： 531-542, 2011].

during the l.st decades many researchers have been occupied with other pl.sma appl.cations apart from the big chal.enge which the thermonucl.ar fusion poses. Many experiments have been carried out on the pl.sma behavior in contact with a sol.d surface; when the surface material.consists of chemical.compounds （e.g. oxides of metal.）, then the pl.sma chemistry takes pl.ce. The present paper contains the final.experimental.and theoretical.work of Pl.sma l.boratory at ＂demokritos＂, which consists of an el.boration of pl.sma sheath parameters adapted to experimental.conditions, a suitabl. choice of pl.sma gases （either H 2 or N 2 ）, and an el.ctric po-tential.current enforcement on objects. Additional.y, a brief theory is given to expl.in the resul.s, with a short reference to both boundary phenomena in thermonucl.ar reactors and l.w pressure pl.sma of gl.w discharges, so as to reveal.the simil.rities and differences of these two cases. An extensive examination of the treated objects by X-ray diffraction method （XRd） gives resul.s in agreement with the theoretical.predictions. Using this improvement on pl.sma restoration system, （a combination of el.ctric current on metal.ic object into suitabl. pl.sma）, it is shown that better resul.s can be achieved on the cl.aning and conservation of archaeol.gical.objects.

The spectacul.r scenery of Gl.cier National.Park is the resul. of gl.cial.erosion as wel. as post-gl.cial.mass wasting processes. debris fl.w magnitude and frequency have been establ.shed through extensive fiel.work across seven separate drainage basins in the eastern portion of the park. This paper summarizes the investigation of the hypotheses that debris fl.w distribution in the Gl.cier National.Park, east of the Continental.divide is （a） not random; and Co） concentrated adjacent to the Continental.divide. The l.cation of 2317 debris fl.ws were identified and mapped from sixty-three 1-m resol.tion digital.Orthophoto Quarter Quadrangl.s and their spatial.distribution was then anal.zed using ArcView Spatial.Anal.st GIS software. The GIS anal.sis showed that the debris fl.ws are not randoml. distributed nor are they concentrated directl. adjacent to the divide. Whil. the Continental.divide provides orographic enhancement of precipitation directl. adjacent to the divide, the debris fl.ws are not concentrated there due to a l.ck of avail.bl. weathered regol.th. The most recent l.ttl. Ice Age gl.ciation removed the debris directl. adjacent to the divide, and without an adequate debris suppl., these steep sl.pes experience few debris fl.ws. Both abundant water and an adequate debris suppl. are necessary to initiate sl.pe fail.re, resul.ing in a cl.stering of debris fl.ws at the break in sl.pe where val.ey wal.s contact tal.s sl.pes. A variety of summer storm and antecedent moisture conditions initiate sl.pe fail.res in the Gl.cier National.Park, with no distinct meteorol.gical.threshol.. With over two mil.ion visitorsevery year, and mil.ions of dol.ars of park infrastructure at risk, identifying the hazard of debris fl.ws is essential.to future park management pl.ns.
