With the expansion of eucalyptus crops to areas with severe water limitations,physiological studies involving eucalyptus clones to identify those that are tolerant to water stress become *** objective of this study was to assess morphological and physiological responses by eucalyptus clones subjected to drought stress and *** experiment consisted of three eucalyptus clones:VC865,I224 and I144 and two water regimes:control and water stress followed by rehydration,with six *** water potential,gas exchange,maximum quantum efficiency of photo systemⅡand plant height and stem diameter were evaluated under drought stress and ***6 d of rehydration,the number of leaves,leaf area and dry mass of root,leaf,stem and their total were *** clones showed intense reduction of gas exchange during the drought stress period,and only VC865 and 1144 showed rapid recovery with 3 d of *** 1224 showed greater reduction in height,stem diameter,number of leaves,water potential at midday(Ψ_(w)_(Midday)),and maximum quantum efficiency of photosystemⅡ(F_(v)/F_(m)).Clones VC865and T144 showed lower reductions inΨ_(wMidday)and F_(v)/F_(m) under ***865 had lower reductions in leaf number,leaf area and higher leaf dry mass,while clone I144 had higher height and lower reduction in root dry mass *** these clones showed higher water use efficiency with 3d of *** different phenotypic plasticities gave the clones VC865 and 1144 efficient mechanisms of acclimatization to stress and more drought tolerance,enhancing their greater capacity for recovery after stress,which allowed lower dry mass *** 1224,however,was more susceptible to drought stress,undergoing greater physiological damage with only partial recovery during rehydration.

Textile-based technologies are considered as potential routes for the production of 3d porous architectures for tissue engineering( TE) applications. We describe the use of two polymers,namely polybutylene succinate( PBS) and silk fibroin(SF) to produce fiber-based finely tuned porous architectures by weft and warp knittings. The obtained knitted constructs are described in terms of their morphology, mechanical properties,swelling ability,degradation behaviour,and cytotoxicity. Each type of polymer fibers allows for the processing of a very reproducible intra-architectural scaffold geometry,with distinct characteristics in terms of the surface physicochemistry,mechanical performance,and degradation capability,which has an impact on the resulting cell behaviour at the surface of the respective biotextiles. Preliminary cytotoxicity screening shows that both materials can support cell adhesion and proliferation. Furthermore, different surface modifications were performed( acid /alkaline treatment, UV radiation,and plasma) for modulating cell behavior. An increase of cell-material interactions were observed,indicating the important role of materials surface in the first hours of culturing. Human adipose-derived stem cells( hASCs) became an emerging possibility for regenerative medicine and tissue replacement therapies. The potential of the recently developed silk-based biotextile structures to promote hASCs adhesion,proliferation,and differentiation is also evaluated. The obtained results validate the developed constructs as viable matrices for TE applications. Given the processing efficacy and versatility of the knitting technology, and the interesting structural and surface properties of the proposed polymer fibers,it is foreseen that our developed systems can be attractive for the functional engineering of tissues such as bone,skin,ligaments or cartilage and also for develop more complex systems for further industrialization of TE products.

Background： Leptin has a strong relation to important traits in animal production, such as carcass composition,feed intake, and reproduction. It is mainly produced by adipose cells and acts predominantly in the *** this study, circulating leptin and its gene expression in muscle were evaluated in two groups of young Nellore bulls with divergent feed efficiency. Individual dry matter intake（dMI） and average daily gain（AdG） of 98 Nellore bulls were evaluated in feedlot for 70 d to determinate the residual feed intake（RFI） and select 20 animals for the high feed efficient（LRFI） and 20 for the low feed efficient（HRFI） groups. Blood samples were collected on d 56 and at slaughter（80 d） to determine circulating plasma leptin. Samples of Longissimus dorsi were taken at slaughter for leptin gene expression ***： dMI and RFI were different between groups and LRFI animals showed less back fat and rump fat thickness,as well as less pelvic and kidney fat weight. Circulating leptin increased over time in all animals. Plasma leptin was greater in LRFI on 56 d and at slaughter（P = 0.0049）. Gene expression of leptin were greater in LRFI animals（P = 0.0022） in accordance with the plasma levels. The animals of the LRFI group were leaner, ate less, and had more circulating leptin and its gene ***： These findings demonstrated that leptin plays its physiological role in young Nellore bulls, probably controlling food intake because feed efficient animals have more leptin and lower residual feed intake.

We investigated the effects of formulations based on phosphite products on gas exchange and activity of antioxidant enzymes in coffee plants. Seedlings of the Mundo Novo cultivar were submitted to various treatments composed of different formulations of with potassium phosphite (AdB 120), manganese phosphite (Reforce Mn), and fungicide (PrioriXtra®). For coffee seedlings, the combination of potassium phosphite and citrus by-products, isolated or in a combination with other products elicited the antioxidant system. Besides the high activity of antioxidant enzymes, the photosynthetic rates were higher than other treatments. The better performance of coffee seedlings treated with those formulations occurred even in absence of pathogens.

城中村是中国独有的一种特殊现象,它的出现与发展伴随着近几十年来快速的经济发展与城市化进程,因此涉及社会、经济、环境与文化等方方面面的转型问题。平山村位于深圳市南山区北部,毗邻深圳大学城南部的哈尔滨工业大学。平山村的城市化进程始于1979年,现有居住用地面积约20.36公顷,建成建筑600余栋,人均面积超过6平方米/人。村内现有原籍村民600余人,截至2015年,村内常住人口约为3.5万人,大多数是外来务工人员,年龄在20至45岁之间。平山村居住着来自中国各地的人群,自工业用地外迁以来,平山村的人口开始衰减,当前平山村的人口约为3.2万人。平山村的人口年龄结构非常不平衡,这将会带来诸如安全隐患、教育资源不足等问题。本文主要关注平山村的环境健康可持续治理的问题,重点关注公园、街道、市民广场与社区垃圾的管理情况。第一章简要介绍了可持续环境管理和平山村的相关概念;第二章对平山村环境可持续性进行评估,引入了弹性概念,并介绍了环境可持续治理包含的因素、策略及原则;第三章对上述因素做出分析,结合实际案例,开展了非洲与欧洲的城中村的对比分析。第四章对如何创造一个更加可持续与健康的城中村环境给出了引导策略与建议。本文关注对不同的环境因素的分析、平山村的可持续发展与社区管理,目的是提升公园、街道、市民广场与垃圾管理等设施的服务质量,这将直接影响到村内居民的日产活动与生活质量。

The aim of this work was to differentiate Atlantic Forest patches, as well as their spatial distribution, from other tree covers that compose the landscape, by comparing three methods of digital images classification, using techniques of geoprocessing and remote sensing. The study area was a sub-basin of the Iperó River, tributary of the Iperó-Mirim stream, Sarapuí River basin, in Araçoiaba da Serra, State of São Paulo, Brazil. This research has been developed on a Geographic Information System environment platform, using medium resolution images from Sentinel-2 Satellite. Three image classification algorithms: Maximum Likelihood Classification (MLC), Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Random Tree (RT) were applied to verify the separability of forest patches, forestry and other uses. The results were analyzed by means of a confusion matrix, accuracy and kappa index, thus showing that the three algorithms were able to successfully differentiate the targets, with the higher efficiency attributed to MLC and the lowest to RT. Overall, the three classifiers presented errors, but specifically for the forest patches, the highest accuracy was obtained from SVM.

The mechanical behavior and wear of the different hardened phases with bore-induced changes in AISI 4340 and AISI d2 steels were investigated. The hardness and modulus of elasticity were measured by nanoindentation and the values obtained for the layers in AISI d2 steel were 18 GPa and 325 GPa in the Fe2B boride phase, and 20 GPa and 360 GPa in the FeB boride phase, respectively. The AISI 4340 steel presented mainly the Fe2B phase. It was then possible to analyze the coefficient of friction obtained in the Fe2B phase of the steel AISI 4340 presented a range of 0.04 to 0.06. The AISI d2 steel presents two different phases in the boride layer being the coefficient of friction higher for the test in the FeB phase than for Fe2B, and the values vary from 0.065 to 0.075. These parameters were obtained with micro-wear tests. No adhesion failures were observed after the sliding tests in the interface of the two different boride layers. Cracks in the FeB phase after the sliding test were much more frequent.

2d TEM Modeling for a Hydrogeological Study in the ParanáSedimentary Basin, Brazil

This work uses 2d TEM (Transient Electromagnetic) modeling for a hydrogeological study in the Paraná sedimentary basin. The study area is located at the northern region of the state of S?o Paulo, Brazil, where groundwater is exploited from two aquifer systems: one sedimentary, shallow, and the other crystalline, deep. The interest in applying the TEM method in this area owes to the high exploitation rates of groundwater from the crystalline aquifer system for irrigation, which is triggering considerable seismic activity locally. This aquifer system is composed of fractured basalt within the Serra Geral Formation and is about 120 m deep. Eighty-six TEM soundings were acquired at this location, but in nine cases the data did not fit the modelled curve for 1d geoelectrical models due to the geological complexity of the area. This paper shows 2d geoelectrical modeling results based on the FdTd (Finite differences in Time domain) method to explain the lateral resistivity variation within the geological setting. A 2d model was generated for each sounding and compared with 1d inversion models as well as with direct information from wells. The results show some vertical variations of about 10 to 30 meters on the upper interface of the basalt layer from Serra Geral Formation. They are located at approximately 60 meters from the center of the soundings. The existence of these 2d structures in the subsurface can be related to the drainage system in the study area. The presence of these structures may indicate a connection between the shallow and deep aquifer systems, acting like a conduit that may contribute to the seismic activity reported.
