Solid-liquid extraction for yttrium recovery using porous polymeric resin(XAd-7) functionalized with d_(2)EHPA

The recovery of yttrium is proposed by applying a solid-liquid extraction process using di-2-ethyl hexylphosphoric acid(d2EHPA) as extracting *** extracting agents were supported on a macro porous polymeric resin XAd-7(solid phase).yttrium ions extraction and discharge tests were performed,firstly from a synthetic aqueous solution of 100 mg/L y(liquid phase) at 25℃ with *** effects of pH of aqueous solutions bearing yttrium,volume fraction of extracting agents and the solid/liquid(S/L)ratio on the yttrium recovery were *** most favorable conditions for yttrium ions extraction are;20 vol% d_(2)EHPA functionalized resin,pH=1.5 and an S/L ratio of 10 mg/mL The discharge of yttrium ions was done under the same conditions of extraction stage,using a 2 mol/L [H_(2)SO_(4)] as stripping *** to 80% yttrium is extracted,while 75% yttrium is recovered in the striping *** all experiments,the reaction equilibrium is reached after 20 min,and the kinetics for the extraction stage was determined as a second-order ***,experiments were carried out to discharge the yttriumloaded resins,and it has been determined that the best pH value to strip the y ions is *** tests of extraction and discharge for yttrium ions show that the functionalized resin can work at least five cycles without decreasing its ***,the proposed process was tested in a real solution with y ions fro m a waste fluorescent la mp powder leached in H_(2)SO_(4),demonstrating the ability to effectively recover yttrium,separating it from various metals from the studied residue.

Vitamin d and selenium for type 2 diabetes mellitus with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis:dosage and duration insights

This letter discusses the publication by Feng et ***,selenium,and vitamin d are closely associated with thyroid hormone production in humans;however,the efficacy of selenium and vitamin d supplementation for type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2dM)patients with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis(HT)remains *** the retrospective study we discuss herein,the authors highlighted significant improvements in thyroid function,thyroid antibodies,blood glucose,and blood lipid in T2dM patients with HT following addition of vitamin d and selenium to their antidiabetic regimens,underscoring the value of these *** team is currently engaged in research exploring the relationship between micronutrients and HT,and we have obtained invaluable insights from the aforementioned *** on this research and current literature,we recommend a regimen of 4000 IU/day of vitamin d and 100-200μg/day of selenium for over three months to six months for patients with HT,particularly for those with concurrent T2dM.

Exceptional points enhance sensing in silicon micromechanical resonators

Exceptional points(EPs)have recently emerged as a new method for engineering the response of open physical systems,that is,systems that interact with the *** systems at the EPs exhibit a strong response to a small ***,we show a method by which the sensitivity of silicon resonant sensors can be enhanced when operated at *** our experiments,we use a pair of mechanically coupled silicon micromechanical resonators constituting a parity-time(PT)-symmetric *** perturbations introduced on the mechanically coupled spring cause the frequency to split from the EPs into the PT-symmetric regime without broadening the two spectrum linewidths,and this frequency splitting scales with the square root of the perturbation *** overall signal-tonoise ratio is still greatly enhanced,although the measured noise spectral density of the EP sensing scheme has a slight increase comparable to the traditional *** results pave the way for resonant sensors with ultrahigh sensitivity.

High-energy-density Li-S batteries are subjected to serious sulfur deactivation and short cycle lifetime caused by undesirable polysulfide shuttle effect and frantic lithium dendrite *** this work,a controllable cage-confinement strategy to fabricate molybdenum carbide(MoC)nanoclusters as a high-efficient sulfiphilic and lithiophilic regulator to mitigate the formidable issues of Li-S batteries is *** sub-2 nm MoC nanoclusters not only guarantee robust chemisorption and fast electrocatalytic conversion of polysulfides to enhance the sulfur electrochemistry,but also homogenize Li^(+) flux to suppress the lithium dendrite *** a consequence,the MoC-modified separator endows the batteries with boosted reaction kinetics,promoted sulfur utilization,and improved cycling stability.A reversible capacity of 701 mAh·g^(−1) at a high rate of 5.0C and a small decay rate of 0.076%per cycle at 1.0C over 600 cycles are *** study offers a rational route for design and synthesis of bifunctional nanoclusers with both sulfiphilicity and lithiophilicity for high-performance Li-S batteries.

Identification of in situ Generated Iron-Vacancy Induced Oxygen Evolution Reaction Kinetics on Cobalt Iron Oxyhydroxide

developing highly efficient and low-cost electrocatalysts towards oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is essential for practical application in water electrolyzers and rechargeable metal-air *** Fe-based oxyhydroxides are regarded as state-of-the-art non-noble OER electrocatalysts,the origin of performance enhancement derived from Fe doping remains a hot topic of considerable ***,we demonstrate that in situ generated Fe vacancies in the pristine CoFeOOH catalyst through a pre-conversion process during alkaline OER result from dynamic Fe dissolution,identifying the origin of Fe-vacancy-induced enhanced OER *** functional theory(dFT)calculations and experimental results including X-ray absorption fine-structure spectroscopy,in situ UV-Vis spectroscopy,and in situ Raman spectroscopy reveal that the Fe vacancies could significantly promote the d-band center and valence states of adjacent Co sites,alter the active site from Fe atom to Co atom,accelerate the formation of high-valent active Co^(4+)species,and reduce the energy barrier of the potential-determining step,thereby contribute to the significantly enhanced OER performance.

Active surface technique is one of the key technologies to ensure the reflector accuracy of the millimeter/submillimeter wave large reflector *** antenna is complex,large-scale,and high-precision equipment,and its active surfaces are affected by various factors that are difficult to comprehensively deal *** this paper,based on the advantage of the deep learning method that can be improved through data learning,we propose the active adjustment value analysis method of large reflector antenna based on deep *** method constructs a neural network model for antenna active adjustment analysis in view of the fact that a large reflector antenna consists of multiple panels spliced *** on the constraint that a single actuator has to support multiple panels(usually 4),an autonomously learned neural network emphasis layer module is designed to enhance the adaptability of the active adjustment neural network *** classical 8-meter antenna is used as a case study,the actuators have a mean adjustment error of 0.00252 mm,and the corresponding antenna surface error is0.00523 *** active adjustment result shows the effectiveness of the method in this paper.

Improvement of mechanical properties and investigation of strengthening mechanisms on the Ti_(3)AlC_(2) ceramic with nanosized WC addition

Ti_(3)AlC_(2) (TAC) has great potential for use as an ablation material in aerospace applications due to its great oxidation/ablation resistance, but its high-temperature strength and thermal shock resistance still have much room for simultaneous improvement under fast temperature variation conditions. Herein, we used Ti_(3)AlC_(2) and WC powders as raw materials and successfully fabricated textured (Ti,W)_(3)AlC_(2) ceramic with small amounts of TiC and Al_(2)O_(3), and room temperature mechanical properties such as flexural strength (1146±46.9 MPa), fracture toughness (11.78±0.44 MPa·m^(1/2)), and hardness (5.81±0.11 GPa) at 5 wt% WC addition were achieved. The high-temperature strength of the ceramic was significantly improved, and better thermal shock resistance from 298 to 1173 K was simultaneously acquired together with the regulation of the elastic modulus, thermal conductivity, and thermal expansion coefficient, providing (Ti,W)_(3)AlC_(2) with more possibilities for fast-temperature variation applications. Strengthening and toughening mechanisms were proposed. Scanning transmission electron microscopy high-angle annular dark-field imaging (STEM-HAddF) showed that W randomly replaced the Ti1 and Ti2 sites of Ti_(3)AlC_(2), providing a good reference for establishing crystal models, and further density functional theory (dFT) calculations based on these models indicated a higher fracture energy of (Ti,W)_(3)AlC_(2) along different crystal planes, providing superior resistance to transgranular fracture;a lower mismatch degree of (Ti,W)_(3)AlC_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) resulted in stronger interface bonding, resulting in greater resistance to intergranular fracture as well as more balanced stress distributions at different interfaces.

APSO-CNN-SE: An Adaptive Convolutional Neural Network Approach for IoT Intrusion detection

The surge in connected devices and massive data aggregation has expanded the scale of the Internet of Things (IoT) networks. The proliferation of unknown attacks and related risks, such as zero-day attacks and distributed denial of Service (ddoS) attacks triggered by botnets, have resulted in information leakage and property damage. Therefore, developing an efficient and realistic intrusion detection system (IdS) is critical for ensuring IoT network security. In recent years, traditional machine learning techniques have struggled to learn the complex associations between multidimensional features in network traffic, and the excellent performance of deep learning techniques, as an advanced version of machine learning, has led to their widespread application in intrusion detection. In this paper, we propose an Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization Convolutional Neural Network Squeeze-and-Excitation (APSO-CNN-SE) model for implementing IoT network intrusion detection. A 2d CNN backbone is initially constructed to extract spatial features from network traffic. Subsequently, a squeeze-and-excitation channel attention mechanism is introduced and embedded into the CNN to focus on critical feature channels. Lastly, the weights and biases in the CNN-SE are extracted to initialize the population individuals of the APSO. As the number of iterations increases, the population’s position vector is continuously updated, and the cross-entropy loss function value is minimized to produce the ideal network architecture. We evaluated the models experimentally using binary and multiclassification on the UNSW-NB15 and NSL-Kdd datasets, comparing and analyzing the evaluation metrics derived from each model. Compared to the base CNN model, the results demonstrate that APSO-CNN-SE enhances the binary classification detection accuracy by 1.84% and 3.53% and the multiclassification detection accuracy by 1.56% and 2.73% on the two datasets, respectively.
