Endangered lowland oak forest steppe remnants keep unique bird species richness in Central Hungary

the biodiversity of natural or semi-natural native,old oak woodlands have high conservation importance,especially in landscapes of monocultural forest plantations and arable *** a wider variety of microhabitats and foraging sources,such old oak forests can provide essential habitat for native forest bird *** conducted a study using bird point counts to compare the forest bird communities of old pedunculate oak(Quercus robur)remnants with native and non-native plantations in central Hungary in a landscape of mostly arable fields,settlements,and monocultural *** surveys were carried out in old oak forest remnants,middle-aged oak,white poplar(Populus alba),hybrid poplar(Populus×euramericana),black locust(Robinia pseudoacacia),and pine(Pinus spp.)*** has been carried out in nine study sites,where all six habitat types were represented(with a few exceptions),to determine total abundance,species richness,Shannon–Wiener diversity,species evenness,dominant and indicator species,and guild *** found.t.at old oak forest remnants were the most diverse habitats among the studied forest types,while hybrid poplar and pine plantations exhibited the lowest avian *** avian guilds most sensitive to the loss of old oak forest remnants were ground foragers,bark foragers,cavity-nesters,residents,and Mediterranean migratory *** habitats were more diverse than non-native *** results suggest that it is important to conserve all remaining high biodiversity old oak stands and to avoid clear-cutting of monocultural plantations in favour of practices such as mixed-species plantations,longer rotation lengths,or retention forestry.

Study the Hydration and the Microstructure of Cement Blended with Rice Husk Ash in Comparison with Silica Fume

Rice husk ask (RHA) is not a ultra-fine material as silica fume (SF),but possesses a very high specific surface area because of its porous structure. With the similar chemical composition of RHA and SF,the activity of RHA,therefore,is different from that of SF. the objective of this work is to study the hydration and the microstructure of Portland cement blended with RHA in comparison with SF. the test results show that SF refined the pore structure of cement paste better than RHA. However,the effect of RHA on cement hydration is more pronouned.t.an that of SF for the mixture with low water to binder ratio.

BACKGROUNd the quality-adjusted life year(QALY)is a metric that is increasingly used today in the field of health economics to evaluate the value of different medical treatments and *** waiting lists(SWLs)represent a pressing problem in public *** QALY measure has rarely been used in the context of *** would be interesting to know how many QALYs are lost by patients on *** to investigate the relationship between QALYs and SWLs in a systematic review of the scientific *** the study was conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses *** unlimited search was carried out in PubMed,updated on January 19,*** on the following variables were investigated and analyzed:Specialty,country of study,procedure under study,scale used to measure QALYs,the use of a theoretical or real-life model,objectives of the study and items measured,the economic value assigned to the QALY in the country in question,and the results and conclusions *** Forty-eight articles were selected for the *** data were found regarding QALYs lost on *** specialties in which QALYs were studied the most in relation to the waiting list were urology and general surgery,with 15 articles *** country in which the most studies of QALYs were carried out was the United States(n=21),followed by the United Kingdom(n=9)and Canada(n=7).the most studied procedure was organ transplantation(n=39),including 15 kidney,14 liver,5 heart,4 lung,and 1 ***(n=4),cataract surgery(n=2),bariatric surgery(n=1),mosaicplasty(n=1),and septoplasty(n=1)completed the surgical interventions ***-nine of the models used were theoretical(the most frequently applied being the Markov model,n=34),and nine were *** survey used to measure quality of life in 11 articles was the European Quality of Life-5 dimensions,but in 32 articles the survey was not specified.t

Using e^(+)e^(−)annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb^(−1)taken at the center-of-mass energy√s=3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector,a joint amplitude analysis is performed on the decays d^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and d^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η).the fit fractions of individual components are obtained,and large interferences among the dominant components of the decays d^(0)→a_(1)(1260)π,d^(0)→π(1300)π,d^(0)→ρ(770)ρ(770),and d^(0)→2(ππ)_(S)are observed in both *** the obtained amplitude model,the CP-even fractions of d^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and d^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are determined to be(75.2±1.1_(stat).±1.5_(syst.))%and(68.9±1.5_(stat).±2.4_(syst.))%,*** branching fractions of d^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and d^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are measured to be(0.688±0.010_(stat.)±0.010_(syst.))%and(0.951±0.025_(stat.)±0.021_(syst.))%,*** amplitude analysis provides an important model for the binning strategy in measuring the strong phase parameters of d^(0)→4πwhen used to determine the CKM angleγ(ϕ_(3))via the B^(−)→dK^(−)decay.

Physico-chemical and mechanical properties of ti_3SiC_2-based materials elaborated from SiC/ti by reactive spark plasma sintering

In this paper, the synthesis of ti_3 SiC_2 from SiC/ti powder using reactive spark plasma sintering(R-SPS) in the temperature range of 1300-1400 ℃ is reported. the results show that the purity of ti_3 SiC_2 is improved up to 75 wt% when the holding time is increased from 10 to 20 min at1400 ℃. the thermodynamic and experimental results indicate that ti_3 SiC_2 formation takes place via the reaction of a pre-formed tiC phase with the silicides, formed from the eutectic *** analysis of mechanical behaviour indicates that samples with higher percentage of secondary phases exhibit higher microhardness and better resistance compared to the near single phase ti_3 SiC_2.

Quantitative ultrastucture analysis of neuroendocrine cells of gastric mucosa on normal and pathological conditions

AIMS to study the quantitative ultrastucture of neu- roendocrine cells of gastric mucosa on normal anc pathological conditions including the duodenal ulcer (dU) and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (ZES). MEtHOdS the neuroendocrine cells of the gastric mucosa of eight normal subjects,six patients with dU and five patients with ZES were quantitatively investi- gated with electro microscope and ultrastructure image analyzer. RESULtS the volume density of neuroendocrine cells in dU was 1.3% and 0.8% (vs 1.6% and 0.9%,P>0.05) in gastric antrum and corpus respectively. In antrum,G cells was of 65% (Pd cells decreased in cell density (3% vs 9.5%) and in number of cell per unit area (Pthe cell density of ECL cells increased (49% vs 30%,Pd cells and EC cells decreasec (2% Pd 4% Ptively),and the number of d cell per unit area markedly decreased. In ZES,d cells in corpus decreased in cell density (4% vs 22%,Pd P cells also decreased (11% vs 24%,Pthe density of ECL cells increased (65% vs 30%,PdU and ZES,both the number and type of NE cells present some changes. Incresed gastrin in dU and ZES patients may be caused by the decrease of d cells and somatostatin secretion.

By inserting an ultrathin Pt layer at Co/Ru interface,we established antiferromagnetic coupling with outof-plane magnetization in Co/Ru/Co film stacks fabricated by *** achieve configuration suitable for free layer,the magnetic properties of the stacks have been investigated by changing the thickness of Co,Ru and Pt layers using an orthogonal wedges *** is found.t.at magnetic properties for upper Co layer thinner than 0.5 nm are sensitive to little change in Ru *** continuity of upper Co layer by slightly increasing the thickness can effectively increase the squareness of minor *** switching magnetization of synthetic antiferromagnetic（SAF） structure is achieved by dC current under an in-plane static magnetic field of ± 500 *** structure is very promising for free layer in spintronic application.

Computational Analysis of a Variable Ejector Flow

the present study addresses a variable ejector which can improve the ejector efficiency and control the re-circulation ratio under a fixed operating pressure ratio. the variable ejector is a facility to obtain specific recirculation ratio under a given operating pressure ratio by varying the ejector throat area ratio. the numerical simulations are carried out to provide an understanding of the flow characteristics inside the variable ejector. the sonic and supersonic nozzles are adopted as primary driving nozzles in the ejector system, and a movable cone cylinder, inserted into a conventional ejector-diffuser system, is used to change the ejector throat area ratio. the numerical simulations are based on a fully implicit finite volume scheme of the compressible, Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equations. the results show that the variable ejector can control the recirculation ratio at a fixed operating pressure ratio.
