Background In ambrosia and bark beetles–fungi interaction, volatile organic compounds(VOCs) play a central role in mediating various aspects of community dynamics of beetles and/or fungi. these functions include facilitating beetle habitat location, mate identification, and fungal partner differentiation. However, the understanding on this context remains limited, especially in the globally distributed subfamily Platypodinae, which comprises predomi-nantly ambrosia beetles. there is a lack of chemical data on ambrosia fungi from native South American species. this study addresses this gap by characterizing VOCs from twelve fungal species associated with Megaplatypus mutatus and assessing species-specific behavioral responses during *** Fungal VOCs were collected by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry combined with solid-phase microextraction and Y-olfactometry assays of males and females were performed at dispersal stage. Statistical analyses involved: non-metric multidimensional scaling multivariate plot and PERMANOVA test, a cluster analysis through unweighted pair group method with Jaccard index, and finally, a chi-square goodness-of-fit test for beetle behavioral *** We identified 72 VOCs from the fungal species isolated from M. mutatus galleries, exocuticle, and gut. the olfactory behavior of M. mutatus demonstrated its capacity to discriminate between volatile profiles, showing a pref-erence for either the fungus or the control source. Our results also enhance the understanding in a chemotaxonomic context and in the behavioral responses of M. mutatus revealing the beetle's remarkable low temperature toler-ance and its capability to maintain mobility and orientation toward volatile sources even after zero-degree Celsius *** this study presents a comprehensive insight into fungal VOC profiles, emphasizing the sources of isola-tion within pest associated fungi, as well as its symbiotic species from the Raffaelea genus. Objective: the purpose of this study is to understand the current situation of knowledge, attitude, and practice of self-management in young patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (t2dM) and to explore the relationship between general conditions (personal, social, and environment, clinical factors) and their knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) of diabetes self-management, this aims to provide patients with high-quality nursing care management and services, as well as to provide relevant recommendations for effective self-management. Methods: this study is a descriptive correlational study that used the purposive sampling method to investigate 359 patients with t2dM aged 18-25 years in four designated tertiary hospitals in Shandong Province. Results: Knowledge of self-management was correlated with sex, age, education level, occupation and work situation, monthly household income, medical payment method, family and friend support, frequency of diabetes health education, and diabetes complications. the attitude subscale was correlated with sex, age, education level, work situation, and family and friend support. the practice subscale was associated with age, education level, work situation, family and friend support, frequency of diabetes health education, and HbA1c values. Conclusion: Young adults aged 18-25 with t2dM have positive attitudes towards diabetes self-management, but there are still deficiencies in knowledge acquisition and behavioral practice. the KAP of self-management of diabetes is influenced by personal factors such as sex, age, and education level, and socio-environmental factors such as family income and family or friends’ social support. Additionally, clinical factors such as complications and HbA1c values significantly impacted the patient’s disease self-management ability.

Glioma is one of the most common malignant tumors of the central nervous system,leading high mortality rates in ***-induced emission(AIE)photosensitizers-based photodynamic therapy(Pdt)has emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy for least-invasive treatment of glioma,which involves local irradiation of the tumor using an external near-infrared(NIR)***,most AIE photosensitizers suffered from poorly penetration of the visible light excitation,bad spatiotemporal resolution in deep tissues and low efficient blood-brain barrier(BBB)crossing ability,which greatly limited the clinical practice of AIE photosensitizers for especially deep-seated brain tumor *** this work,we developed a multifunctional NIR-driven theranostic agent through hybrid of AIE photosensitizers tINd with rare-earth doping nanoparticles(RENPs)NaGdF4:Nd/Yb/tm with up/down dual-mode conversion *** theranostic agent was further decorated with d-type neuropeptide dNPY for crossing BBB and targeting *** the 808-nm light irradiation,the down-conversion NIR-II luminescence could indicate the position glioma and the upconversion NIR-I luminescence could trigger the AIE photosensitizers producing reactive oxygen species to inhibit orthotopic glioma tumor growth in *** results demonstrate that the integration of dtype neuropeptide,AIE photosensitizers and RENPs could be promising candidates for in vivo NIR-II fluorescence image-guided through-skull Pdt treatments of brain tumors.

Anal pathologies are conditions affecting the anal margin and the anal canal. the aim of our study was to update data on anal diseases. Non-specific, it can reveal an emergency, a serious illness, a chronic disease or a benign condition. It was a prospective, descriptive and analytical study from April 2022 to March 2023, carried out in the hepato-gastroenterology unit of the Centre de Santé de Référence de la commune V du district de Bamako in Mali. Out of seven hundred and forty-nine (749) patients seen in consultation, 98 had anal pathology, i.e. a prevalence of 13.08%. the mean age was 40 ± 15.15 years and the sex ratio was 1.5. Hemorrhoidal disease and anal fissure were the most frequent pathologies in 66.4% and 24.4% of cases respectively. Medical treatment was initiated in 91.9% of patients with hemorrhoidal disease and 91.7% with anal fissure. Anal pathologies are common in young male patients. In our context, they are dominated by benign conditions.

Chronic hepatitis B causes a liver disease characterized by inflammation of the liver parenchyma. the aim of this study was to investigate the evolution of biological parameters in patients treated with tenofovir for chronic B infection at the Commune V referral health center in Bamako. We obtained a prevalence of 14.15%. the most represented age group was 31 - 40 years, with 36.8%. the sex ratio was 1.44 in favour of men. Viral load was undetectable after 18 months of treatment in 25 patients (42.37%). tenofovir, the 1st-line drug in Mali, is effective on the biological parameters monitored in patients.

We report on an indium antimonide high electron mobility transistor with record cut-off frequency characteristics. For high frequency response it is important to minimize parasitic resistance and capacitance to improve short-channel effects. For analog applications adequate pinch-off behavior is demonstrated. For proper device scaling we need high electron mobility and high electron density. toward this end, the device design features and simulation are carried out by the Synopsys tCAd tool. A 30 nm InSb HEMt exhibits an excellent cut-off frequency of 586 GHz. to the knowledge of the authors, the obtained cut-off frequency is the highest ever reported in any FEt on any material system.

Volatile organic compounds(VOC's) in air have become major concern in recent years. Biodegradation of a mixture of ethanol and methanol vapor was evaluated in a laboratory biofilter with a bed of compost and polystyrene particles using an acclimated mixed culture. the continuous performance of the biofilter was studied with different proportion of ethanol and methanol at different initial concentration and flow rates. the result showed significant removal for both ethanol and methanol, which were composition dependent. the presence of either compound in the mixture inhibited the biodegradation of the other.
