Objectives Chilling injury is a prominent physiological disorder in longkong fruit pericarp when stored under 13℃for a prolonged *** study aimed to investigate the effects of individual salicylic acid(SA)and ultrasonication(US)treatments and of the combination salicylic acid and ultrasonication(SA-US)on alleviating the chilling injury symptoms in longkong fruit pericarp when in prolonged cold *** and Methods SA(1 mmol/L)and US(40 kHz,10 min at 90%amplitude,350 W)were used as individual and combined(SA-US)treat-ments to control the chilling injury in longkong *** various quality measures were checked every 2 d in longkong for up to 18 d of cold storage(13℃,90%relative humidity).Results The results revealed that the control fruits treated with water exhibited severe chilling injury symptoms followed in rank order by US,SA,and SA-US *** such as US and SA alone were more effective in controlling chilling injuries than control,while only minimal signifi-cant differences were noticed between *** the other hand,the longkong pericarp treated with the SA-US combination had significantly increased antioxidant enzyme(superoxide dismutase and catalase)activities and decreased levels of membrane lytic(phospholipase d and lipoxygenase)enzymes and browning-inducing enzymes(phenylalanine ammonia lyase and polyphenol oxidase).Consequently,in the longkong pericarp,the chilling injury index,electrolytic leakage,respiration rate,weight loss,firmness,malondialdehyde content,changes in unsaturated and saturated fatty acid contents,and reactive oxygen species were significantly controlled by this *** The present study concludes that longkong fruit treatment with a combination of US and SA is an excellent alternative for control-ling the chilling injury symptoms and extending the shelf-life.

With increasing incidence of diabetes, use of diabetes specific nutrition supplements (dSNS) is common for better management of the disease. To study effect of 12-week dSNS supplementation on glycemic markers, anthropometry, lipid profile, SCFAs, and gut microbiome in individuals with diabetes. Markers studied were glycemic [Fasting Blood Glucose (FBG), Post Prandial Glucose (PPG), HbA1c, Incremental Area under curve (iAUC), Mean Amplitude of Glycemic Excursions (MAGE), Time in/above Range (TIR/TAR)], anthropometry [weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), waist circumference (WC)], lipid profile, diet and gut health [plasma short chain fatty acids (SCFAs)]. N = 210 adults were randomized to receive either dSNS with standard care (dSNS + SC;n = 105) or standard care alone (SC alone;n = 105). After 12 weeks, significant differences between dSNS + SC versus SC alone was observed in FBG [−3 ± 6 vs 14 ± 6 mg/dl;p = 0.03], PPG [−35 ± 9 vs −3 ± 9 mg/dl;p = 0.01], weight [−0.6 ± 0.1 vs 0.2 ± 0.1 kg;p = 0.0001], BMI [−0.3 ± 0.1 vs 0.1 ± 0.1 kg/m2;p = 0.0001] and WC [−0.3 ± 0.2 vs 0.2 ± 0.2 cm;p = 0.01]. HbA1C and low-density lipoprotein (LdL) were significantly reduced in dSNS + SC [−0.2 ± 0.9;p = 0.04 and −5 mg/dl;p = 0.03] respectively with no change in control. Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) reported significant differences between dSNS + SC versus SC alone for mean glucose [−12 ± 65 vs 28 ± 93 mg/dl;p dl;p = 0.04], TAR 250 [−3 ± 27 vs 9 ± 38 mg/dl;p = 0.05], iAUC [−192 (1.1) vs −48 (1.1) mg/dl;p = 0.03]. The perfect image retrieval and retrieval time are the two major challenges inCBIR systems. To improve the retrieval accuracy, the whole database is searched basedon many image characteristics such as color, shape, texture and edge information whichleads to more time consumption. This paper presents a new fuzzy based CBIR method,which utilizes colour, shape and texture attributes of the image. Fuzzy rule based systemis developed by combining color, shape, and texture feature for enhanced image *** this approach, dWT is used to pull out the texture characteristics and the region basedmoment invariant is utilized to pull out the shape features of an image. Color similarityand texture attributes are extorted using customized Color difference Histogram (CdH).The performance evaluation based on precision and BEP measures reveals the superiorityof the proposed method over renowned obtainable approaches.

Friction stir processing （FSP）, a variation of FSW （friction stir welding） is an emerging surface engineering technology that can locally eliminate casting defects and refine microstructures, thereby improving the mechanical properties of material. FSP can also produce fine grained microstructures through the thickness to impart superplasticity. The technology involves plunging a rapidly rotating, non consumable tool, comprising a profiled pin and larger diameter shoulder, into the surface and then traversing the tool across the surface. The pin and the shoulder friction heat the surface which alters the grain structure in the processed area thereby improving the mechanical properties. This paper presents the effects of FSP on microstructure and mechanical properties of extruded cast 2285 aluminum alloy at three different feed rates viz. 10, 12 and 15 mm/min. With the increase in the feed speed the material was observed to have increased impact strength. FSP also increased the tensile and yield strengths with increases in hardness and ductility values also. The observation has been listed in detail and pictorially represented.

In situ hydrogelation systems, such as transdermal polymerization, allow for external control over the gelation processes in a minimally invasive way. Recently, a novel system consisting of near-infrared (NIR) light and plasmonic nanomaterials was demonstrated to cause in vivo transdermal gelation. However, NIR light is not sufficient for gelation induction in deep tissues owing to its limited penetration into tissues. To overcome this problem, here we developed an alternating magnetic field (AMF)-inducible hydrogelation system with superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs), by which a deep-tissue–penetrating AMF can induce heat generation in the SPIONs and temperature elevation (≥ 43 °C), leading to initiation of thermal polymerization of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate. The feasibility of our AMF-inducible hydrogelation was successfully demonstrated using thick porcine muscle tissues (> 2 cm), whereas the NIR light–based hydrogelation system could induce gelation only in tissues thinner than several millimeters. Cell viability assays indicated cytocompatibility of the AMF-inducible hydrogelation for cell encapsulation and delivery. In vivo hydrogelation in rat muscle tissues further validated in situ hydrogelation in deep muscle tissues of a living animal. This AMF-inducible hydrogelation system may overcome the conventional problems of depth limitation and should extend the applicable area of on-demand injectable hydrogel systems for tissue engineering and drug delivery applications.

In power system studies, congestion in trans- mission lines and utilization of flexible alternating current transmission system （FACTS） devices are closely associated. These devices are very important due to their role in power delivery system enhancement. It is to be noted that the generation companies can exercise their market power which depends on the line flows, line constraints, generators＇ location and its share to the individual loads. This issue cannot be overlooked as it creates monopoliness which is against the deregulated market policy. The objective of this paper is to study the impact of market power when FACTS devices like thyristor controlled switching capacitor （TCSC） and thyristor controlled phase angle regulator （TCPAR） are used under steady state operation. The market power is determined using nodal must-run share （NMRS） index for the standard IEEE 14- bus system with and without the above FACTS devices and the results obtained are compared. All the above simula- tions are conducted in a MATLAB 7.9-R2009b environment.

It is crucial to develop flexible and wearable electronic devices that have attracted tremendous interest due to their merits on compactness,flexibility and high capacitive *** we report the continuously ordered macroscopic poly(ionic liquid)-graphene fibers by wet spinning method via liquid crystal assembly for supercapacitor *** fabricated all-solid-state supercapacitors exhibited a high areal capacitance(268.2 mF cm 2)and volumetric capacitance(204.6 F cm 3)with an outstanding areal energy density(9.31μWh cm-2)and volumetric energy density(8.28 mWh cm-3).The fiber supercapacitors demonstrated exceptional cycle life for straight electrodes of about 10,000 cycles(94.2%capacitance retention)and flexibility at different angles(0°,45°,90°,180°)along with a good flexible cycling stability after 6000 cycles(92.7%capacitance retention).To date,such a novel poly(ionic liquid)-graphene fiber supercapacitors would be a new platform in real-time flexible electronics.
