The rebound effect on energy efficiency improvements in China’s transportation sector:A CGE analysis

Energy use is becoming more efficient due to technological *** focused on the transportation sector in China to develop a national multisector computable general equilibrium(CGE)model for analyzing the rebound effect from an improvement of 10%in the energy *** compared the size of the energy rebound effect at both the macroeconomic and sectoral levels in different transportation modal subsectors,namely rail,road,water,and air *** findings showed that the magnitude of the rebound effect varies across the transportation *** is particularly true for the air transportation sector,which has an economy-wide rebound effect of 30.1%and an own-sector rebound effect of 74.6%because of a sharp increase in the export demand for air transport *** also quantitatively evaluated the contribution of energy efficiency improvement in the transportation sector to China’s economic growth and carbon reductions and found a positive dividend effect on the economy as well as the *** modeling results suggest that improving overall transportation energy efficiency by 10%generates an economy-wide welfare gain of approximately 29 billion yuan,while 19 billion yuan are attributable to a more efficient road transportation ***,to offset the effects of these mode-specific rebound effects,we simulated the effectiveness of different policies and *** included economic instruments in the form of energy,environmental,and carbon taxes,household transport consumption structure adjustments,and energy structure *** study revealed that combining these sustainable development policies offers opportunities for economy-wide multisectoral improvements in energy savings,emissions reduction,and economic benefits.

Hlder Norm Estimate for a Hilbert Transform in Hermitean Clifford Analysis

A Hilbert transform for H61der continuous circulant （2 × 2） matrix functions, on the d- summable （or fractal） boundary F of a Jordan domain Ω in R2n, has recently been introduced within the framework of Hermitean Clifford analysis. The main goal of the present paper is to estimate the HSlder norm of this Hermitean Hilbert transform. The expression for the upper bound of this norm is given in terms of the HSlder exponents, the diameter of F and a specific d-sum （d 〉 d） of the Whitney decomposition of Ω. The result is shown to include the case of a more standard Hilbert transform for domains with left Ahlfors-david regular boundary.

Impact of Chronicity on Outcomes Following Post-Hospital Residential Brain Injury Rehabilitation: Application of Multivariate Statistics and Rasch Analysis

This study evaluated the impact of chronicity (onset of injury to admission in-terval) on three domains of functional outcomes for a large group of traumatic brain injured (TBI) survivors. Subjects included 528 TBI adults who were treated in post-hospital residential rehabilitation centers. Subjects were assigned to one of three chronicity groups: 1) Early Interval (EI), 2.00 - 8.00 months n = 245, 2) Mid Interval (MI), 8.01 - 24.00 months n = 129, and (3) Late Interval (LI), 24.01 months and greater n = 154. Functional status was assessed with the MPAI-4. RM MANCOVA was applied to evaluate differences among groups from admission to discharge. Rasch analysis demonstrated satisfactory construct validity and internal consistency (Person reliability = 0.90 - 0.94, Item reliability = 0.99) for the admission and discharge MPAI-4s. Controlling for LOS and age, the RM MANCOVA revealed that each chronicity group showed significant improvement in MPAI-4 abilities, adjustment, and participation indices from admission to discharge (p d from admission to discharge was the greatest among the EI group (p dy demonstrated the utility of multivariate statistical approaches for understanding the complexities of TBI treatment outcomes. As measured across three domains of functioning, rehabilitation was effective in reducing disability for participants in each chronicity group. Of the three groups, EI participants presented as the most disabled at admission but also made the greatest gains when assessed at discharge.

Lack of correlation between Treg quantification assays in inflammatory bowel disease patients

AIM:To compare the number of regulatory T-cells( Tregs) measured by flow cytometry with those obtained using a real-time quantitative PCR(q PCR) method in patients suffering from inflammatory bowel disease(IBd).METHOdS:Tregs percentages obtained by both flow cytometry and q PCR methods in 35 adult IBd patients,18 out of them with Crohn′s disease(Cd)and 17 with ulcerative colitis(UC)were compared to each other as well as to scores on two IBd activity questionnaires using the Harvey Bradshaw Index(HBI)for Cd patients and the Simple Colitis Clinical Activity Index(SCCAI)for UC *** Treg percentages by flow cytometry were defined as Cd4+Cd25highCd127lowFOXP3+cells in peripheral blood mononuclear cells,whereas the Treg percentages by q PCR method were determined as FOXP3 promoter demethylation in genomic ***:We found an average of 1.56%±0.78%Tregs by using flow cytometry,compared to 1.07%±0.53%Tregs by using q PCR in adult IBd *** were no significant correlations between either the percentages of Tregs measured by flow cytometry or q PCR and the HBI or SCCAI questionnaire scores in Cd or UC patients,*** addition,there was no correlation between Treg percentages measured by q PCR and those measured by flow cytometry(r=-0.06,P=0.73;Spearman Rho).These data suggest that,either Treg-related immune function or the clinical scores in these IBd patients did not accurately reflect actual disease *** the cause(s)for these differences are more clearly defined,the resultssuggest caution in interpreting studies of Tregs in various inflammatory ***:The two methods did not produce equivalent measures of the percentage of total Tregs in the IBd patients studied which is consistent with the conclusion that Tregs subtypes are not equally detected by these two assays.

Providing efficient charge transfer through the interface between the semiconductor and co-catalyst is greatly desired in photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) energy ***,we excogitate a novel and facile means,via electrochemical activation,to successfully load the amorphous CoOOH layer architecture onto the surface of TiO_(2).Intriguingly,the as-obtained 6%CoOOH-TiO_(2)photoelectrode manifests optimal PEC performance with a high photocurrent density of 1.3 mA/cm~2,3.5 times higher than that of pristine TiO_(2).Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS),Tafel analysis and cyclic voltammetry (CV) methods show that the carrier transfer barrier within the electrode and the transition of Co^(3+)OOH to Co^(4+)OOH have the dominating effects on the PEC *** calculation reveals that the interface between the CoOOH and TiO_(2)improves the homogeneity of effective d-orbital electronic-transfer ability among Co *** research sheds light on the water oxidation reaction and the design of more favorable PEC cocatalysts.

Graphene’s unparalleled strength,chemical stability,ultimate surface-to-volume ratio and excellent electronic properties make it an ideal candidate as a material for membranes in micro-and nanoelectromechanical systems(MEMS and NEMS).However,the integration of graphene into MEMS or NEMS devices and suspended structures such as proof masses on graphene membranes raises several technological challenges,including collapse and rupture of the *** have developed a robust route for realizing membranes made of double-layer CVd graphene and suspending large silicon proof masses on membranes with high *** have demonstrated the manufacture of square graphene membranes with side lengths from 7µm to 110µm,and suspended proof masses consisting of solid silicon cubes that are from 5µm×5µm×16.4µm to 100µm×100µm×16.4µm in *** approach is compatible with wafer-scale MEMS and semiconductor manufacturing technologies,and the manufacturing yields of the graphene membranes with suspended proof masses were>90%,with>70%of the graphene membranes having>90%graphene area without visible *** measured resonance frequencies of the realized structures ranged from tens to hundreds of kHz,with quality factors ranging from 63 to *** graphene membranes with suspended proof masses were extremely robust,and were able to withstand indentation forces from an atomic force microscope(AFM)tip of up to~*** proposed approach for the reliable and large-scale manufacture of graphene membranes with suspended proof masses will enable the development and study of innovative NEMS devices with new functionalities and improved performances.

玉米根系在生长过程中向根际分泌蛋白质类大分子物质。采用双向聚丙烯酰胺凝胶电泳-质谱技术,一维液相色谱-质谱联用(LC/MS)和Shotgun三种不同鉴定方法对无菌条件收集的玉米根系分泌蛋白进行了分离、分析与鉴定,对3种鉴定方法在分泌蛋白分析中的应用做了详细阐述和比较。结果表明,双向电泳通过银染可以看到200个蛋白质点,但由于蛋白量少,通过质谱无法对玉米根系分泌蛋白进行鉴定;用LC/MS鉴定得到了152个蛋白;用Shotgun技术鉴定得到了2 848个蛋白。LC/MS鉴定得到的蛋白全部出现在用Shotgun技术鉴定得到的2 848个蛋白中,后2种方法的结果可以互相验证。Shotgun技术具有更高的灵敏性,更适合对蛋白质浓度低、干扰物多的植物根分泌蛋白组进行鉴定,能够获得完整可靠的信息。

Room-temperature sputtered-SnO_(2) modified anode toward efficient TiO_(2)-based planar perovskite solar cells

It is of the utmost importance to promote the charge transport and retard the heterojunction barrier in the functional layers and at their adjacent interfaces to pursuit excellent photovoltaic characteristics of the perovskite solar cells(PSCs). Here, roomtemperature sputtered-SnO_(2) films are introduced to modify FTO anode for improving carrier extraction and aligning energy band in the TiO_(2)-based planar PSCs. For the SnO_(2)-modified substrate with suitable sputtering duration, the following TiO_(2) film exhibits smoother surface roughness, less surface defects, and lower the trap-assisted interfacial recombination than that directly on the FTO, further facilitating the growth of perovskite grain size and promoting the extraction efficiency of charge carriers. On the basis of the optimized SnO_(2)(6 nm)/TiO_(2) stack layer as electron transport layer(ETL), the PSC exhibits an outstanding power conversion efficiency of 21.45%, which is much better than that of the single TiO_(2)-based device(19.68%). More importantly, the cell with the bilayer ETL shows a long-term stability against air, maintaining over 76% of its initial efficiency after 40 d. These achievements suggest that this study provides a feasible path to design energy level alignment and low temperature ETL for highly efficient and stable PSCs.

Predicting the outcome of closed-loop small bowel obstruction by preoperative characteristics

BACKGROUNd Closed-loop small bowel obstruction(CL-SBO)can threaten the viability of the intestine by obstructing a bowel segment at two adjacent *** recognition and surgery are *** To analyze the outcomes of patients who underwent surgery for CL-SBO and to evaluate clinical *** Patients who underwent surgery for suspected CL-BSO on computed tomography(CT)at a single center between 2013 and 2019 were evaluated *** were divided into three groups by perioperative outcome,including viable bowel,reversible ischemia,and irreversible *** and laboratorial variables at presentation were compared and postoperative outcomes were *** Of 148 patients with CL-SBO,28(19%)had a perioperative viable small bowel,86(58%)had reversible ischemia,and 34(23%)had irreversible *** with a higher age had higher risk for perioperative irreversible ischemia[odds ratio(OR):1.03,95%confidence interval(CI):0.99-1.06].Patients with American Society of Anaesthesiologists(ASA)classification≥3 had higher risk of perioperative irreversible ischemia compared to lower ASA classifications(OR:3.76,95%CI:1.31-10.81).Eighty-six patients(58%)did not have elevated C-reactive protein(>10 mg/L),and between-group differences were *** in-hospital stay was significantly longer for patients with irreversible ischemia(median 8 d,P=0.001)than for those with reversible ischemia(median 6 d)or a viable bowel(median 5 d).Postoperative morbidity was significantly higher in patients with perioperative irreversible ischemia(45%,P=0.043)compared with reversible ischemia(20%)and viable bowel(4%).CONCLUSION Older patients or those with higher ASA classification had an increased risk of irreversible ischemia in case of *** irreversible ischemia,postoperative morbidity was increased.
