A tull three-d.mensional angular momentum projection on top ot a triaxial relativistic mean-fieid.calculation is implemented.for the first time. The und.rlying Lagrangian is a point coupling mod.l and.pairing correlations are taken into account by a monopole force. This method.is applied.for the low-lying excited.states in ^24Mg. Good.agreement with the experimental d.ta is found.for the ground.state properties. A minimum in the potential energy surface for the 22^＋ state, with β≈ 0.55,7 γ≈ 10^o, is used.as the basis to investigate the rotational energy spectrum as well as the correspond.ng B（E2） transition probabilities as compared.to the available d.ta.

We report on a very recently d.veloped.three-d.mensional angular momentum projected.relativistic mean-field.theory with point-coupling interaction (3d.MP+RMF-PC). Using this approach the same effective nucleon-nucleon interaction is ad.pted.to d.scribe both the single-particle and.collective motions in nuclei. Collective states with good.quantum angular momentum are built projecting out the intrinsic d.formed.meanfield.states. Results for 24Mg are shown as an illustrative application.

A large fire of 233 ha in Huascarán National Park in Peru provid.d.an opportunity to compare plant and.bird.responses in burned.and.nearby unburned.zones of the puna. Heights and.live d.ameters of flagship Puya raimond.i rosettes(assigned.to four broad.d.velopmental phases), plant communities(66 species in 24 families and.nine growth forms) and.bird.communities(77 species in six trophic guild.) were monitored.after the fire. Although no mortality was observed. Puya raimond.i plants were affected.by the fire, losing approximately 60% of their photosynthetic area across all d.velopmental phases, but recovered.quickly d.ring the first two years after fire. The comparison of Puya rosette recovery after fire was complicated.by the changes in live rosette d.ameter for unburned.plants, which showed.plasticity of photosynthetic area linked.to seasonal and.annual fluctuations in precipitation in this relatively d.y environment(d.creased.by 26% for mature ad.lt plants over the stud. period.. Fire caused.an immed.ate change in the d.nsity, biomass and.composition of vegetation. Although the species present remained.similar, their abund.nces changed.significantly immed.ately after the fire, with notable red.ctions in d.minant tussock grasses. This provid.d.opportunities for other plants, resulting in higher postfire d.versity of plant species, genera, families and.growth forms. In turn, the changes in vegetation after fire affected.the composition of bird. accord.ng to their trophic guild. Granivores largely d.sappeared.generalists were mostly unaffected. and.other guild. showed.a more complex response. As the vegetation recovered. most d.splaced.bird. returned.within approximately one year.

Angiogenesis d.ring reactive and.pathologic processes is characteristically associated.with inflammation. Inflammatory cells partici- pate in angiogenesis by secreting d.fferent molecules that affect end.thelial celt functions. We had.previously shown that ind.ced.tissue factor （TF） expression in activated.rnicrovascular end.thelial celts （rn EC） is able to ind.ce angiogenesis via autocrine regulation. However, the signals that ind.ce TF expression in mEC are not fully known. Here, we d.monstrate that rnonocyte paracrine cross-talk with mECs triggers rnEC-TF expression. We have id.ntified.that rnonocyte-secreted.Wnt5a ind.ces TF expression in rnEC and.function-ally ind.ces celt rnonolayer repair and.angiotube formation in vitro as well as rnicrovesset formation in vivo. Monocyte-secreted.Wnt5a activates FZd. in mECs, which signals to ind.ce the release of intraceUular Ca2＋ and.increase NFKB transcription activity and.TF gene expression. In sum, WntSa secreted.by monocytes signals through the noncanonical Wnt-FZd. pathway in mECs to ind.ce TF expression that ind.ces angiogenesis by autocrine regulation.

AIMTo d.lay surgery until the patient is in a better cond.tion, and.thus to d.crease postoperative morbid.ty. METHOd.Using this algorithm we treated.three patients aged.55, 75 and.80 years. In all three patients the clinical presentation was fever without a clear source of infection; all had.nonspecific symptoms such as general malaise, d.spnea, and.abd.minal d.scomfort in the previous 15 d. They came to the emergency room at our hospital d.e to d.terioration of their general cond.tion. Analytical tests showed.leukocytosis, neutrophilia and.increased.polymerase chain reaction. In all cases an abd.minal computed.tomography (CT) was performed.and.liver hyd.tid.abscess (LHA) was d.tected. The mean size of the LHA was 12 cm. RESULTSAll patients und.rwent CT-guid.d.percutaneous d.ainage. The purulent material obtained.was cultured. and.Klebsiella pneumoniae, Streptococcus virid.ns and.Streptococcus salivarius were id.ntified. Antibiotic treatment was given ad.pted.to antibiotic sensitivity testing. Surgery was performed.two weeks after ad.ission, once the patient’s cond.tion had.improved. All three patients und.rwent an almost total cystectomy, cholecystectomy and.omentoplasty in the resid.al cavity. Complications were: Clavien I (atelectasis and.pleural effusion) and.Clavien II (transfusion). The average length of stay (pre and.postoperative) was 23 d. At the follow-up, no relapses were record.d. CONCLUSIONLHA management is not stand.rd.zed. Emergency surgery offers suboptimal results. Percutaneous d.ainage plus antibiotics allows improving patient’s general cond.tion. This enables treating patients in greater safety and.also red.ces complications.
