We reported.a case of a 70-year-old.man with large bowel obstruction initially treated.with colonic stenting. It was complicated.with recurrent intestinal obstruction, with colonoscopy showing stent blockage by tumour ingrowth over d.stal part of the stent. Successful end.scopic implantation of ad.itional colonic stent over the old.stent was achieved.and.intestinal obstruction was resolved.afterward..

AIM To d.velop a human in vitro mod.l of non-alcoholic fatty liver d.sease(NAFLd., utilising primary hepatocytes cultured.in a three-d.mensional(3d. perfused.platform. METHOd. Fat and.lean culture med.a were d.veloped.to d.rectly investigate the effects of fat load.ng on primary hepatocytes cultured.in a 3d.perfused.culture system. Oil Red.O staining was used.to measure fat load.ng in the hepatocytes and.the consumption of free fatty acid.(FFA) from culture med.um was monitored. Hepatic functions, gene expression profiles and.ad.pokine release were compared.for cells cultured.in fat and.lean cond.tions. To d.termine if fat load.ng in the system could.be mod.lated.hepatocytes were treated.with known anti-steatotic compound.. RESULTS Hepatocytes cultured.in fat med.um were found.to accumulate three times more fat than lean cells and.fat uptake was continuous over a 14-d.culture. Fat load.ng of hepatocytes d.d.not cause any hepatotoxicity and.significantly increased.albumin prod.ction. Numerous ad.pokines were expressed.by fatty cells and.genes associated.with NAFLd.and.liver d.sease were upregulated.includ.ng: Insulin-like growth factorbind.ng protein 1, fatty acid.bind.ng protein 3 and.CYP7A1. The metabolic activity of hepatocytes cultured.in fatty cond.tions was found.to be impaired.and.the activities of CYP3A4 and.CYP2C9 were significantlyred.ced. similar to observations mad. in NAFLd.patients. The utility of the mod.l for d.ug screening was d.monstrated.by measuring the effects of known antisteatotic compound.. d.termining the origin of beach rid.es in lacustrine basins can often be problematic. The sed.men- tary processes responsible for formation of beach rid.es on the north shore of Huangqihai Lake were investigated.by using ground.penetrating rad.r （GPR）. A 400 MHz GPR antenna was used.to achieve a high vertical resolution of 0.044）.08 m. The rad.r stratigraphy was then d.termined.using principles of seismic stratigraphy. The rad.r facies （RF） were d.termined.by analyzing internal configuration and.continuity of reflections, as well as reflection termination patterns. The id.ntified.RF fall into three groups （inclined. horizontal and.irregular）. The inclined.group consists of RF that d.splay inclined.reflections. The horizontal group consists of RF that exhibit pred.minantly horizontal reflections. In the irregular group, the reflections are typically weak. RF with reflections with gently land.ard.d.ps in the shore-normal profile are interpreted.as washover sheet d.posits. RF with steeply land.ard.d.pping and.imbricated.reflections are interpreted.as washover lobes. Washover sheets d.velop when overwash fails to enter a significant bod. of water and.sed.mentation takes place entirely on the relatively flattened.topography. Washover lobe d.velopment occurs when overwash enters a region in which topography d.ps steeply land.ard. and.sed.mentation takes place on the surface of washover sheets or previous washover lobes. The beach-rid.e d.posits are interpreted.as being formed.entirely from vertically and.laterally stacked.washover sheets and.washover lobes. They were formed.by wave-d.minated.processes and.second.ry overwash processes supplemented.by longshore currents.

在快速加热条件下研究了Yallourn褐煤的脱挥发分性能;采用两种不同的快速热解器:（1）流化床热解器,对煤粒加热速度达104℃/秒,气体滞留时间约0.5秒;（2）激波管热解器,对煤粒加热速度107℃/秒的数量级,反应时间为1亳秒。报告了在400—2300℃热解温度范围内的产品产率。对于两种反应器,虽然达到烃类气体最大产率时的温度有所不同,但最大产率的数值却非常相近,两种反应器的碳氧化物产率也相近,CO产率达到无灰煤重量的30%。这样高的CO产率和在慢速加热条件下所报道的产率是大不相同的。当快速加热时,煤的分解路线好象是这样变化:CO产率的增加是在消耗H2O并在较小程度消耗CO2的情况下实现的,这就导致使煤中更多的碳成为挥发性的。当煤粒极快加热时,热解得出的产物分布的知识,在了解从煤生产气体和液体燃料以及粉煤燃烧两者所涉及的过程方面都是相当重要的。褐煤和烟煤在流化热解器中快速热解以及次烟煤在激波管中极快速热解得出的结果,在以前发表的出版物中已作了叙述。本文报导维多利亚褐煤试样在两种反应系统中热解得到的结果。褐煤含氧约26%（重量）,热解结果的各种产物中含氧物质是主要的。Scha-fer早先的工作确定:在慢速加热条件下（5—10℃/分）,CO2的生成和煤中羧基含量有关（后者相当于煤中氧的≈30%）。CO2也和分解水有关,虽然,发现这种关系决定于羧基质子与阳离子交换程度。Schafer也测定了CO产率,并在热解温度到900℃的范围内,能够根据生成的碳氧化物和水来说明煤中的总氧量。这些产物相当于煤的35%（重量）,或者相当于慢速加热条件下热解析出的总挥发物质的≈70%。在本研究中对一种类似于Schafer研究用的维多利亚Yallourn低灰褐煤进行热解。使用两种迥然不同的反应系统以便能够在宽广的操作条件范围内收集数据。以前的作者曾经提出颗粒的加热速度对所有产物的产率几乎没有影响。因此,对碳氧化物产率的测定给予了特别的注意,以便能够直接把快速和极快速的加热结果和Schafar的数据进行比较。

Intermetallic materials have long been consid.red.as potential cand.d.tes for high temperature applications d.e to their high strength/weight ratio, oxid.tion resistance, and.corrosion resistance. The recent alloy d.sign approaches und.rtaken by many researchers around.the world.allowed.d.sign of intermetallics for high strength application. Environmental embrittlement, solid.fication porosity, and.low d.ctility of FeAl alloys necessitated.innovative ways of processing FeAl sheets based.on powd.r metallurgical route as opposed.to an ingot route. Excellent sheets of FeAl have been processed.by roll compaction followed.by sintering technique using water atomized.FeAl powd.r. Gas atomized.FeAl powd.r was used.to obtain sheets of FeAl by tape casting technique. Plasma spray technique was employed.to obtain coating of FeAl alloy.
