Population d.namics and.Key Influencing Factors of microthrix parvicella Caused.Slud.e Bulking

Given the frequent occurrence of the slud.e bulking phenomena caused.by microthrix parvicella（m. parvicella）overgrowth d.ring the low-temperature period.in the full-scale municipal wastewater treatment plant，the filamentous bacteria d.namics of the m. parvicella population were systematically investigated.d.ring the completed.bulking period.using the multi-d.mensional integrated.filamentous monitoring method.combined.with the molecular quantitative method. A lab-scale reactor was constructed.and.successfully simulated.bulking phenomena und.r the low-temperature cond.tion. The trend.of d.minant filamentous bacterial shift and.the main influencing parameters were estimated.d.ring the bulking period.to verify the key factors for filament growth and.extinction of the slud.e bulking phenomenon in the full-scale plant. The results showed.that the bulking-caused.m. parvicella was characterized.by significant changes in the d.versity of filamentous bacteria，and.the d.minant filamentous bacterial succession was reflected.in the competition between the skeleton filamentous bacteria Type 0092 and.Type 0041 and.m. parvicella. At lower temperatures，slud.e load.ng was an important controlling factor for the competitive growth ad.antage of m. parvicella：when the temperature was lower（approximately 15°C），low slud.e load.ng［0.05 kg·（kg·d.−1］could.lead.to the stabilized.elevation of m. parvicella，and.with the load.ng increased.to 0.1 kg·（kg·d.−1 or more，m. parvicella populations showed.a targeted.d.cline d.spite the presence of the low temperature factor. © 2024 Science Press. The rational d.sign of Fe–N–C catalysts that possess easily accessible active sites and.favorable mass transfer,which are usually d.termined.by the structure of catalyst supports,is crucial for the oxygen red.ction reaction(ORR).In this stud.,an oleic acid.assisted.soft-templating approach is d.veloped.to synthesize size-controlled.nitrogen-d.ped.carbon nanoparticles(ranging from 130 nm to 60 nm and.35 nm,respectively)that feature spiral mesopores on their surface(SmCs).Next,atomically d.spersed.Fe–Nx sites are fabricated.on the size-tunable SmCs(Fe1/SmC-x,where x represents the SmC size)and.the size-d.pend.nt activity toward.ORR is *** is found.that the catalytic performance of Fe1/SmCs is significantly influenced.by the size of SmCs,where the Fe1/SmC-60 catalyst shows the highest ORR activity with a half-wave potential of 0.90 V *** in KOH electrolyte,ind.cating that the gas-liquid.solid.three-phase interface on the Fe1/SmC-60 enhances the accessibility of Fe–Nx *** ad.ition,when using Fe1/SmC-60 as the cathod. catalyst in aqueous zinc-air batteries(ZABs),it d.livers a higher open-circuit voltage(1.514 V),a greater power d.nsity(223 mW cm^(−2)),and.a larger specific capacity/energy than Pt/C-based.*** results further highlight the potential of Fe1/SmC60 for practical energy d.vices associated.with ORR and.the importance of size-controlled.synthesis of SmCs.

Flood.Risk Assessment in the Lower Valley of Ouémé, Benin

In response to the increased.frequency of flood.events in recent years, it has become crucial to enhance prepared.ess and.anticipation through precise flood.risk assessments. To this end. this stud. aims to prod.ce upd.ted.and.precise flood.risk maps for the Lower Valley of Ouémé River Basin, located.in the South of Benin. The method.logy used.consisted.of a combination of geographical information systems (GIS) and.multi-criteria analysis, includ.ng Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. to d.fine and.quantify criteria for flood.risk assessment. Seven hyd.o-geomorphological ind.cators (elevation, rainfall, slope, d.stance from rivers, flow accumulation, soil type, and.d.ainage d.nsity), four socio-economic vulnerability ind.cators (female population d.nsity, literacy rate, poverty ind.x, and.road.network d.nsity), and.two exposure ind.cators (population d.nsity and.land.use) were integrated.to generate risk maps. The results ind.cate that approximately 21.5% of the Lower Valley is und.r high and.very high flood.risk, mainly in the south between d.ngbo, So-Ava, and.Aguégués. The stud. find.ngs align with the historical flood.pattern in the region, which confirms the suitability of the used.method. The novelty of this work lies in its comprehensive approach, the incorporation of AHP for weighting factors, and.the use of remote sensing d.ta, GIS technology, and.spatial analysis techniques which ad.s precision to the mapping process. This work ad.ances the scientific und.rstand.ng of flood.risk assessment and.offers practical insights and.solutions for flood.prone regions. The d.tailed.flood.risk ind.cator maps obtained.stand.out from previous stud.es and.provid. valuable information for effective flood.risk management and.mitigation efforts in the Lower Valley of Ouémé.

The sed.mentary rocks of the Cabullona Group are well exposed.in the Cabullona Basin of northeastern Sonora, mexico, which represent syntectonic sed.mentation associated.with Laramid.-style d.formation d.ring the Campanian-early maastrichtian. The sand.tones of the Lomas Colorad.s Formation d.posited.at the upper part of the Cabullona Group. Petrography and.geochemical(major, trace, and.rare earth elements) stud.es were carried.out on the sand.tones to interpret the palaeoweathering, provenance,and.tectonic setting of the Lomas Colorad.s Formation sand.tones. most of the sand.tone mod.l analysis d.ta plotted.in the QFL and.Qm FLt ternary d.agrams fall into the field. of d.ssected.arcs and.recycled.orogens,respectively. Geochemically the sand.tones are classified.as litharenites while few samples plot into the arkosic field. The chond.ite-normalized.REE d.agrams for sand.tones have LREE-enriched. relatively flat HREE patterns with negative Eu anomalies. CIA values and.the A-CN-K d.agram ind.cate a low intensity of chemical weathering in the source area. The tectonic setting d.agram suggests both arc and.rift settings for the stud.ed.sand.tones. The bivariate and.ternary d.agrams and.elemental ratios suggest a felsic source for the Lomas Colorad.s Formation. The average REE patterns of the stud.ed.sand.tones are comparable with REE patterns of the granite from the Caborca block, the rhyolite and.granite of the Tarahumara Formation, and.the mesozoic felsic volcanic rocks. The mod.led.mixture of 40% Proterozoic granite, 30% Triassic arc, 10% Jurassic arc, and.20% Laramid. arc represents the probable source rocks for the Lomas Colorad.s Formation.
