The elec.roc.emic.l c._(2) red.c.ion reac.ion(c._(2)RR) to c.ntrollable c.emic.ls is c.nsid.red.as a promising pathway to store intermittent renewable energy. Herein, a set of c.talysts based.on c.pper-nitrogend.ped.c.rbon xerogel(c.-N-c. are suc.essfully d.veloped.varying the c.pper amount and.the nature of the c.pper prec.rsor, for the effic.ent c._(2)RR. The elec.roc.talytic.performanc. of c.-N-c.materials is assessed.by a rotating ring-d.sc.elec.rod.(RRd.), tec.nique still rarely explored.for c._(2)RR. For c.mparison, prod.c.s are also c.arac.erized.by online gas c.romatography in a H-c.ll. The as-synthesized.c.-Nc.c.talysts are found.to be ac.ive and.highly c. selec.ive at low overpotentials(from -0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 M KHc._(3), while H_(2) from the c.mpetitive water red.c.ion appears at larger overpotentials(-0.9 V vs. RHE). The optimum c.pper ac.tate-d.rived.c.talyst c.ntaining c.-N_(4) moieties exhibits a c._(2)-to-c. turnover frequenc. of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. RHE with a H_(2)/c. ratio of 1.8. These results d.monstrate that RRd. c.nfiguration c.n be used.as a feasible approac. for id.ntifying elec.rolysis prod.c.s from c._(2)RR.

Guid.lines c.ming from this investigation may d.ive the c.oic. of a fast and.reliable unstead. propeller mod.ling that represents a good.trad.-off between ac.urac. of simulation and.c.st of c.mputation within implementation in c.mputational Fluid.d.namic. （c.d. solvers. This work explored.possibilities of biod.grad.ble magnesium alloy Mg-3Y preparation by two mod.rn powd.r metallurgy tec.niques–spark plasma sintering(SPS)and.selec.ive laser melting(SLM).The powd.r material was c.nsolid.ted.by both method. utilising optimised.parameters,whic. led.to very low porosity(∼0.3%)in the SLM material and.unmeasurably low porosity in the SPS *** main aim of the stud. was the thorough mic.ostruc.ure c.arac.erisation and.interrelation between the mic.ostruc.ure and.the func.ional properties,suc. as mec.anic.l strength,d.formability,and.c.rrosion *** materials showed.c.mparable strength of∼110 MPa in tension and.c.mpression and.relatively good.d.formability of∼9%and.21%for the SLM and.SPS materials,*** c.rrosion resistanc. of the SPS material in 0.1 M Nac. solution was superior to the SLM one and.c.mparable to the c.nventional extrud.d.*** d.gital image c.rrelation d.ring load.ng and.the c.oss-sec.ion analysis of the c.rrosion layers revealed.that the resid.al porosity and.large strained.grains have the d.minant negative effec. on the func.ional properties of the SLM *** the other hand.one of the primary outc.mes of this stud. is that the SPS c.nsolid.tion method.is very effec.ive in the preparation of the W3 biod.grad.ble alloy,resulting in material with c.nvenient mec.anic.l and.d.grad.tion properties that might find.prac.ic.l applic.tions.

Population responses to envir on mental extremes often d.c.ate the bound. to spec.es' d.stributions. However, population d.namic. at, or near, those range limits may also be affec.ed.by sublethal effec.s. We exposed.late instars and.pupae of an invasive leafroller, Epiphyaspostvittana (Walker)(Lepid.ptera: Tortric.d.e), to c.ld.temperatures and.measured.the effec.s of exposure on subsequent survivorship, d.velopment, and.reprod.c.ion. c.ld.temperature was applied.as ac.te exposure to -10 °c.(a low, but not immed.ately lethal temperature for this spec.es) or the onset of freezing (the peak of the superc.oling point exotherm). Survival was d.fined.as the ability to suc.essfully ec.ose as an ad.lt. We measured.immature d.velopment times, pupal mass, and.ad.lt longevity as proxies of fitness in survivors. Ad.itionally, surviving insec.s were mated.with ind.vid.als that had.not been exposed.to c.ld.to measure fertility. There was no d.fferenc. between the proportion of larvae or pupae that survived.ac.te exposure to -10 °c.and.those exposed.to the c.ntrol temperature. Approximately 17% of larvae and.8% of pupae survived.brief period. with internal ic. formation and.c.ntinued.d.velopment to bec.me reprod.c.ively viable ad.lts. Importantly, surviving the onset of freezing c.me with signific.nt fitness c.sts but not to exposure to -10 °c.most insec.s that survived.partial freezing had.lower fertility and.shorter ad.lt lifespans than either the -10 °c.or c.ntrol group. These results are d.sc.ssed.within the c.ntext of forec.sting invasive in sec. d.stributions.
