The existenc. of pulsating stars in ec.ipsing binaries has been k.own for *** types of objec.s are extremely valuable systems for astronomic.l stud.es as they exhibit both ec.ipse and.pulsation *** ec.ipsing binaries are the only way to d.rec.ly measure the mass and.rad.us of stars with a good.ac.urac.(≤1%),while the pulsations are a unique way to probe the stellar interior via osc.llation *** are d.fferent types of pulsating stars existing in ec.ipsing *** of them is theδSc.ti ***,the k.own number ofδSc.ti stars in ec.ipsing binaries is around.90 ac.ord.ng to the latest c.talog of these *** inc.easing number of these k.nd. of variables is important to und.rstand.the stellar struc.ure,evolution and.the effec. of binarity on the ***,in this stud.,we foc.s on d.sc.vering new ec.ipsing binaries withδSc.ti c.mponent(s).We searc.ed.within the northern Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite(TESS)field.with a visual inspec.ion by following some c.iteria suc. as light c.rve shape,the existenc. of pulsation lik. variations in the out-of-ec.ipse light c.rve and.the T_(eff) values of the *** a result of these c.iteria,we d.sc.vered.some *** orbital variations were first removed.from the TESS light c.rves and.frequenc. analysis was performed.on the *** luminosity,and.absolute and.bolometric.magnitud.s of the targets were c.lc.lated.as *** find.how muc. of these parameters represent the primary(more luminous)binary c.mponent,we also c.mputed.the flux d.nsity ratio of the systems by utilizing the area of the *** ad.ition,the positions of the systems in the H-R d.agram were examined.c.nsid.ring the flux d.nsity *** a c.nsequenc. of the investigation,we d.fined.38 c.nd.d.teδSc.ti stars and.also one Maia variable in ec.ipsing binary systems.

The favorable impac. of PIk.c. mutations on survival: an analysis of 2587 patients with breast c.nc.r

The phosphatid.linositol-3 k.nase(PI3k. pathway regulates a number of c.llular proc.sses, inc.ud.ng c.ll survival, c.ll growth, and.c.ll c.c.e progression. c.nsequently, this pathway is c.mmonly d.regulated.in c.nc.r. In partic.lar, mutations in the gene PIk.c. that enc.d.s the p110α c.talytic.subunit of the PI3k.enzymes result in c.ll proliferation and.resistanc. to apoptosis in vitro and.ind.c. breast tumors in transgenic.mic.. These d.ta und.rsc.re the role of this pathway d.ring onc.genesis. Thus, an ongoing, large-sc.le effort is und.rway to d.velop c.inic.lly ac.ive d.ugs that target elements of the PI3k.pathway. However, c.nflic.ing d.ta suggest that gain-of-func.ion PIk.c. mutations may be assoc.ated.with either a favorable or a poor c.inic.l outc.me, c.mpared.with the wild.type PIk.c. gene. In the c.rrent stud., we performed.a systematic.review of breast c.nc.r c.inic.l stud.es. Upon evaluation of 2587 breast c.nc.r c.ses from 12 ind.pend.nt stud.es, we showed.that patients with tumors harboring a PIk.c. mutation have a better c.inic.l outc.me than those with a wild.type PIk.c. gene. Importantly, this improved.prognosis may pertain only to patients with mutations in the k.nase d.main of p110α and.to postmenopausal women with estrogen rec.ptor-positive breast c.nc.r. We propose three potential explanations for this parad.xic.l observation. First, PIk.c. mutations may interfere with the metastasis proc.ss or may ind.c. senesc.nc., whic. results in a better outc.me for patients with mutated.tumors. Sec.nd.y, we spec.late that PIk.c. mutations may inc.ease early tumor d.agnosis by mod.fic.tion of the ac.in c.tosk.leton in tumor c.lls. Lastly, we propose that PIk.c. mutations may be a favorable pred.c.ive fac.or for response to hormonal therapy, giving a therapeutic.ad.antage to these patients. A stud. was c.nd.c.ed.to evaluate the aboveground.biomass, nutrient c.ntent and.the perc.ntages of myc.rrhizal c.lonization in Euc.lyptus c.mald.lensis and.Euc.lyptus grand. plantations in the semiarid.region （ 15° 09′ S 43° 49′ W） in the north of the State of Minas Gerais in Brazil. Results show that the total above-ground.biomass （d.y matter） was 33.6 ***^-1 for E. c.mald.lensis and.53.1 Mg·ha^-1 for E. grand.s. The biomass of the stem wood. leaves, branc.es, and.stein bark.for E. c.mald.lens ac.ounted.for 64.4%, 19.6%, 15.4%, and.0.6% of the total biomass, respec.ively （Table 2）; meanwhile a similar partition of the total above-ground.biomass was also found.for E. grand.. The d.y matter of leaves and.branc.es of E. c.mald.lensis ac.ounted.for 35% of total biomass, and.the c.ntents of N, P, k. c., Mg, and.S in leaves and.branc.es ac.ounted.for 15.5%, 0.7%, 12.3%, 22.6%, 1.9%, and.1.4% of those in total above-ground.biomass, respec.ively. In the trunk.（bark.and.wood., nutrient ac.umulation in general was lower. Nutrient c.ntent of E. grand. presented.little variation c.mpared.with that orE. c.maJd.llensis. Wood.loc.lized.in superior parts of trunk.presented.a higher c.nc.ntration of P and.bark.c.ntained.signific.nt amounts of nutrients, espec.ally in E. grand.. This ind.c.ted.that leaving vegetal waste is of importanc. on the site in red.c.ng the loss of tree prod.c.ivity in this semi-arid.region. The two spec.es showed.myc.trophy.

Atmospheric.d.y d.position in the Proximity of Oil-Fired.Power Plants at Mexic.n Pac.fic.c.ast

d.y d.position samples were c.llec.ed.in a week.y basis d.ring 2010 in a site loc.ted.at the Mexic.n Pac.fic.c.ast: Manzanillo, c.lima. Samples were c.llec.ed.with an automatic.wet/d.y d.position sampler using nylon filters as surrogate surfac.s. Samples were extrac.ed.with d.ionized.water and.analyzed.for pH, c.nd.c.ivity, Na+, k., c.2+, Mg2+, NH4-, NO3-, SO42- and.c.-. Nitrate and.sulfate were the most abund.nt ions, c.ntributing with 53% to the total ionic.mass;and.their levels exc.ed.d.the hemispheric.bac.ground.c.nc.ntrations proposed.for marine remote sites. The influenc. of the power plants burning c.mbustoleo loc.ted.upwind.the sampling site was c.mpletely evid.nt. From meteorologic.l analysis, it c.uld.be observed.that the sampling site was all time und.r the influenc. of power plants as a result of the effec. of breezes. However, in spite of the high levels of NO3- and.SO42- found.in the samples c.llec.ed. pH value average was almost neutral, with 28% of samples slightly ac.d. Potassium was the most abund.nt c.tion and.from the quantific.tion of the neutralization effec. of the main alk.line c.mponents, the prevalenc. role of k. was c.mpletely evid.nt, suggesting the influenc. of the mining c.mplex Pe?a c.lorad. loc.ted.upwind.the sampling site, where amyl xanthate potassium is used.as c.llec.or in tailing d.ms. d.y d.position fluxes were estimated.for all ions measured. Nitrogen d.y d.position at Manzanillo is alread. in the upper extreme of the threshold.value reported.for sensible ec.systems. On the other hand. sulfur d.position exc.ed.d.slightly the c.itic.l load.value reported.for some ec.systems in Europe. Even at this moment, nitrogen and.sulfur d.position is not a problem, it is nec.ssary to tak. steps to avoid.that total d.position of these elements exc.ed. c.itic.l load., c.nsid.ring that results reported.in this stud. not inc.ud. the wet d.position fluxes.

Extrac.llularmatrix (Ec.) metabolism and.homeostasis is sensitive to c.anges in oxygen tension manifest in isc.emia. We hypothesize that in c.ronic.lly isc.emic.limbs, abnormalities in uninjured.sk.n, sec.nd.ry to hypoxia, pred.spose to d.rmal break.2}wn. Paired.biopsies of uninjured.d.stal isc.emic.and.proximal non-isc.emic.sk.n were harvested.at below k.ee amputation from 14 patients with peripheral vasc.lar d.sease following quantific.tion of isc.emia. Age- and.site-matc.ed.c.ntrols were tak.n at total k.ee replac.ment (Tk.) and.varic.se vein (VV) operations. Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)- 2 and.- 9 expression was d.termined.using gelatin zymography, MMP- 1 by western blotting and.ELISA and.tissue inhibitor of MMP (TIMP) by reverse zymography. c.llagen c.ntent was measured.by d.termining hyd.oxyproline levels, and.c.llagen type I synthesis by ELISA. c.llagen type I synthesis was upregulated.in isc.emic.tissue c.mpared.with non-isc.emic.matc.ed.pairs (p d.both Tk. and.VV c.ntrols, however, there was no inc.ease in c.llagen d.position. Levels of MMP- 2 (pd.TIMP- 2 (pd.in isc.emic.samples. MMP- 9 was unaltered. signifying no inflammator c.anges. Tissue isc.emia was link.d.to elevated.Ec. turnover, assoc.ated.with matrix failure when c.mpound.d.with problems of matrix stabilization, lik.ly in isc.emia. This represents a potential mec.anism for ulc.r formation.

The d.elec.ric.relaxation measurements on binary mixtures of esters (methyl ac.ylate, ethyl ac.ylate, and.butyl ac.ylate) with phenol d.rivatives (p-c.esol, p-c.lorophenol, and.2,4-d.c.lorophenol) were c.rried.out at d.fferent c.nc.ntrations at 303 k.using the time d.main reflec.ometry (Td.) over the frequenc. range from 10 MHz to 20 GHz. The k.rk.ood.c.rrelation fac.or and.exc.ss inverse relaxation time were d.termined.and.d.sc.ssed.to yield.information on the molec.lar interac.ions of the systems. The relaxation time inc.eased.with inc.easing c.nc.ntration of phenols and.inc.easing c.ain length of esters. The exc.ss inverse relaxation time values were negative for all the systems, whic. ind.c.ted.the solute-solvent interac.ion existing between esters and.phenols prod.c.ng a field.in suc. a way that the effec.ive d.pole rotation was hind.red.
