The sexually dimorphic expression of glutamate transporters and their implication in pain after spinal cord injury

In addition to the loss of motor function,~60% of patients develop pain after spinal cord *** cellular-molecular mechanisms are not well understood,but the data suggests that plasticity within the rostral,epicenter,and caudal penumbra of the injury site initiates a cellularmolecular interplay that acts as a rewiring mechanism leading to central neuropathic *** can lead to the formation of new connections triggering abnormal sensory *** excitatory glutamate transporters are responsible for the reuptake of extracellular glutamate which makes them a critical target to prevent neuronal hyperexcitability and *** previous studies showed a sexually dimorphic therapeutic window for spinal cord injury after treatment with the selective estrogen receptor modulator *** this study,we investigated the anti-allodynic effects of tamoxifen in male and female rats with spinal cord *** hypothesized that tamoxifen exerts anti-allodynic effects by increasing the expression of glutamate transporters,leading to reduced hyperexcitability of the secondary neuron or by decreasing aberrant *** and female rats received a moderate contusion to the thoracic spinal cord followed by subcutaneous slow-release treatment of tamoxifen or matrix pellets as a control(placebo).We used von Frey monofilaments and the“up-down method”to evaluate mechanical *** treatment decreased allodynia only in female rats with spinal cord injury revealing a sexdependent *** expression profile of glutamatergic transporters(excitatory amino acid transporter 1/glutamate aspartate transporter and excitatory amino acid transporter 2/glutamate transporter-1)revealed a sexual dimorphism in the rostral,epicenter,and caudal areas of the spinal cord with a pattern of expression primarily on *** rodents showed a significantly higher level of excitatory amino acid transporter-1 expression while male rodents showed increased

Preliminary diversity Assessment of lima Beans (<i>Phaseolus lunatus</i>) Cultivated in Côte d’Ivoire

lima bean is a legume belonging to Fabaceae family cultivated for edible seeds known to generic name of “haricot”. In Côte d’Ivoire, it’s cultivated on small scale in rural zone by local farmers. The main objective of this study was to document and collect local varieties of lima beans (Phaseolus lunatus) grown in Côte d’Ivoire in order to define efficient strategies for better conservation, preservation and improvement of its genetic resources. Investigations were carried out in seventeen localities of Côte d’Ivoire from November 2018 to September 2020. A total of 433 accessions were collected. Based on seed coat color, nineteen morphological types were identified. The length of seeds is ranged from 10 mm to 23 mm. The width of seeds varies from 7 mm and 15 mm. The 100-Seeds-weight are ranged from 31 g to 120 g. Comparison using analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed a significant difference between the nineteen morphological types of common bean. Two morphological types were observed: large seed cultivars and small seed cultivars. data showed that the species studied have a good market potential. Thus, their promotion can contribute to the economic well-being of farmers due to their cultural and culinary importance.

The TP53 gene is well known to be the most frequently mutated gene in human *** addition to mutations,there are > 20 different coding region single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the TP53 gene,as well as SNPs in MdM2,the negative regulator of *** of these SNPs are known to alter p53 pathway *** makes p53 rather unique among cancer-critical genes,*** coding regions of other cancer-critical genes like Ha-Ras,RB,and PI3KCA do not have non-synonymous coding region SNPs that alter their function in *** next frontier in p53 biology will consist of probing which of these coding region SNPs are moderately or strongly pathogenic and whether they influence cancer risk and the efficacy of cancer *** challenge after that will consist of determining whether we can tailor chemotherapy to correct the defects for each ofthese *** we review the SNPs in TP53 and MdM2 that show the most significant impact on cancer and other *** also propose avenues for how this information can be used to better inform personalized medicine approaches to cancer and other diseases.

We have comparatively studied the addition of Cr and V in *** and V content were changed by means of insets placed in the Ti ***,compositional and electrical analyses of different series of thin films,made by XRF, XRd,are *** characterization not only showed that Cr doped layers were very sensitive to ethanol within a useful range for applications,but also allowed to verify that the electrical behaviour is dependent on the structure of film. Finally,the Cr and V concentrations that gives the best results in terms of sensing performances has been determined and a correlation between structural and electrical measurement has been evidenced.

Stress-rupture behavior of a Re-containing Ni-base single crystal superalloy at high temperatures

A Re-containing Ni-base single crystal superalloy was used to investigate the elementary processes associated with stress-rupture behavior at different temperatures where theγʹrafting *** 900°C,the rupture behavior is mainly determined by the multiplication of dislocations within the wideningγchannels,which is closely linked with the propagation of microcracks along the inherentγ/γʹ*** rapid formation of lamellaγ/γʹraft structure,along with the developed-well interfacial dislocation networks,and its elastic instability are primarily responsible for the rupture behavior at 1100°*** is a clear curvature tendency in the larson-Miller plot of stress-rupture lifetime in relation to stress at high *** indicates that the influence extent ofγʹrafting on stress-rupture behavior is sensitive to the acting conditions of temperature and stress.

effect of Yttrium Addition on Microstructural Characteristics and Superplastic Behavior of Friction Stir Processed ZK60 Alloy

As-extruded ZK60 and ZK60-Y magnesium alloy plates were successfully processed via friction stir processing （FSP） at a tool rotation rate of 1600 r/rain and a traverse speed of 200 mm/min. FSP resulted in the formation of equiaxed recrystallized microstructures with the average grain sizes of ,-8.5 and -4.7 μm in the ZK60 and ZK60-Y alloys, respectively. Moreover, FSP broke and dispersed the MgZn2 and W-phase （Mg3Zn3Y2） particles and dissolved MgZn2 phase in the FSP ZK60 alloy. With the addition of rare earth element yttrium （Y） into the ZK60 alloy, the ratio of the high angle grain boundaries （HAgBs） in the FSP alloys increased from 64% to 90%, and a certain amount of twins appeared in the FSP ZK60-Y alloy. The maximum elongation of 1200% and optimum strain rate of 3 X 10-3 s-1 achieved at 450 °C in the FSP ZK60-Y alloy were substantially higher than those of the FSP ZK60 alloy. This is attributed to the fine grains with high ratio of HAgBs and the distribution of a large number of dispersed second phase particles with high thermal stability in the FSP ZK60-Y alloy. grain boundary sliding was identified as the primary deformation mechanism in the FSP ZK60 and ZK60-Y alloys from the superplastic data analyses and surficial morphology observations.

The equilibrium structures and electronic structure of laNi5-xgax （x=0, 0.5, 1.0） compounds have been investigated by all-electron calculations. Based on the full geometry optimization, the densities of states and electron densities of laNi5-xgax are plotted and analyzed. It is clear that the substitution of ga at the Ni site leads to a progressive filling of the Ni-d bands, the ionic interaction between Ni and Ni, with ga plays a dominant role in the stability of laNi5-xgax compounds. The smaller the shift of eF toward higher energy region, the more stable the compounds will be. The increased contribution of the Ni-d-ga-d interactions near eF and the low energy metal-gallium bonding bands indicate that the compounds become more stable. The results are compared with experimental data and discussed in light of previous studies.
