It is difficult to differentiate small,but harmful,shell fragments of Chinese hickory nuts from their kernels since they are very similar in *** shell fragments of Chinese hickory nuts by mistake may create safety hazards for ***,there is a need to develop an effective method to differentiate the shells from the kernels of Chinese hickory *** this study,a deep learning approach based on a two-dimensional convolutional neural network(2D CNN)and long short-term memory(LSTM)integrated with hyperspectral imaging for distinguishing the shells and kernels of Chinese hickory nuts at the pixel level was *** classical classification methods,principal component analysis-K-nearest neighbors(PCA-KNN)and the support vector machine(SVM),were employed to establish identification models for *** results showed that the 2D CNN-LSTM model achieved the best performance with an overall classification accuracy of 99.0%.Moreover,the shells in mixtures of shells and kernels were detected based on the proposed deep learning method and visualized for subsequent operations for the removal of foreign bodies.

Dramatic tool temperature variation in end milling can cause excessive tool wear and shorten its life, especially in machining of difficult-to-machine materials. In this study, a new analytical model-based method for the prediction of cutting tool temperature in end milling is *** cutting cycle is divided into temperature increase and decrease phases. For the temperature increase phase, a temperature prediction model considering real friction state between the chip and tool is proposed, and the heat flux and tool-chip contact length are then obtained through finite element simulation. In the temperature decrease phase, a temperature decrease model based on the one-dimension plate heat convection is proposed. A single wire thermocouple is employed to measure the tool temperature in the conducted milling experiments. Both of the theoretical and experimental results are obtained with cutting conditions of the cutting speed ranging from 60 m/min to100 m/min, feed per tooth from 0.12 mm/z to 0.20 mm/z, and the radial and axial depth of cut respectively being 4 mm and 0.5 mm. The comparison results show high agreement between the physical cutting experiments and the proposed cutting tool temperature prediction method.

Firmness is one of the important indices to evaluate the internal quality of *** this study,a noncontact loudspeaker-based detection system was developed to evaluate apple *** structural parameters of the excitation device were modified in the single-factor experiments,and the best combination of structural parameters was that the inner diameter of the gasket was 40 mm;the distance between fruit surface and loudspeaker was 95 ***,the proper posture style was that the apple was placed with its stem *** the modification of the Laser Doppler Vibrometer(LDV)method,the vibration response signals of 48 apples were measured to establish the firmness prediction *** results showed that the better prediction performance of stiffness was obtained in multiple *** Back Propagation Neural Network(BPNN)model had the best prediction performance by using parameters of elasticity index(EI),the peak value at the second resonance frequency f_(2)(A_(2)),and peak area S,with a correlation coefficient of prediction(r_(p))of 0.914;root mean square error of prediction(RMSEP)of 0.491 N/***,the proposed detection system is feasible to nondestructively detect apple firmness,which has the potential to be applied in online detection.

Towards characterizing bug fixes through dependency-level changes in Apache Java open source projects

The complexity and diversity of bug fixes require developers to understand bug fixes from multiple perspectives in addition to fine-grained code changes. The dependencies among files in a software system are an important dimension to inform software quality. Recent studies have revealed that most bug-prone files are always architecturally connected with dependencies, and as one of the best practices in the industry,changes in dependencies should be avoided or carefully made during bug fixing. Hence, in this paper, we take the first attempt to understand bug fixes from the dependencies perspective, which can complement existing code change perspectives. Based on this new perspective, we conducted a systematic and comprehensive study on bug fixes collected from 157 Apache open source projects, involving 140456 bug reports and182621 bug fixes in total. Our study results show that a relatively high proportion of bug fixes(30%) introduce dependency-level changes when fixing the corresponding 33% bugs. The bugs, whose fixes introduce dependency-level changes, have a strong correlation with high priority, large fixing churn, long fixing time,frequent bug reopening, and bug inducing. More importantly, patched files with dependency-level changes in their fixes, consume much more maintenance costs compared with those without these changes. We further summarized three representative patch patterns to explain the reasons for the increasing costs. Our study unveils useful findings based on qualitative and quantitative analysis and also provides new insights that might benefit existing bug prediction techniques. We release a large set of benchmarks and also implement a prototype tool to automatically detect dependency-level changes from bug fixes, which can warn developers and remind them to design a better fix.

Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus(CGMMV) is a member of the genus Tobamovirus, and is a serious pathogen of Cucurbitaceae crops. Virusderived small interfering RNAs(vsi RNAs), which are processed by dicer-like and Argonaute proteins as well as RNA-dependent RNA polymerase,mediate the silencing of viral genomic RNA and host transcripts. To identify the CGMMV derived vsi RNAs and reveal interactions between CGMMV and watermelon host plant, deep sequencing technology was used to identify and characterize the vsi RNAs derived from CGMMV in infected watermelon plants in present study. A total of 10 801 368 vsi RNA reads representing 71 583 unique s RNAs were predicted in CGMMVinoculated watermelon plants. The CGMMV vsi RNAs were mostly 21 or 22 nt long. The majority of the CGMMV vsi RNAs(i.e., 91.7%) originated from the viral sense strand. Additionally, uracil was the predominant 5′-terminal base of vsi RNAs. Furthermore, the putative targets and functions of some of the CGMMV vsi RNAs were predicted and investigated. The results enhance our understanding of the interaction between CGMMV and the host watermelon and provide molecular basis for CGMMV resistance improvement in watermelon and other Cucurbitaceae crops.

Adaptive robust beamformer for multi-pair two-way relay networks with imperfect channel state information

In wideband multi-pair two-way relay networks, the performance of beamforming at a relay station(RS) is intimately related to the accuracy of the channel state information(CSI) available. The accuracy of CSI is determined by Doppler spread, delay between beamforming and channel estimation, and density of pilot symbols,including transmit power of pilot symbols. The coefficient of the Gaussian-Markov CSI error model is modeled as a function of CSI delay, Doppler spread, and signal-to-noise ratio, and can be estimated in real time. In accordance with the real-time estimated coefficients of the error model, an adaptive robust maximum signal-to-interferenceand-noise ratio(Max-SINR) plus maximum signal-to-leakage-and-noise ratio(Max-SLNR) beamformer at an RS is proposed to track the variation of the CSI error. From simulation results and analysis, it is shown that: compared to existing non-adaptive beamformers, the proposed adaptive beamformer is more robust and performs much better in the sense of bit error rate(BER); with increase in the density of transmit pilot symbols, its BER and sum-rate performances tend to those of the beamformer of Max-SINR plus Max-SLNR with ideal CSI.
