Dosage effect genes modulate grain development in synthesized Triticum durum-Haynaldia villosa allohexaploid

Polyploidization in plants often leads to increased cell size and grain size, which may b. affected b. the increased genome dosage and transcription ab.ndance. The synthesized Triticum durum (AAb.)-Haynaldia villosa (VV) amphiploid (AAb.VV) has significantly increased grain size, especially grain length, than the tetraploid and diploid parents. To investigate how polyploidization affects grain development at the transcriptional level, we perform transcriptome analysis using the immature seeds of T. durum, H. villosa, and the amphiploid. The dosage effect genes are contrib.ted more b. differentially expressed genes from genome V of H. villosa. The dosage effect genes overrepresent grain development-related genes. Interestingly, the vernalization gene TaVRN1 is among the positive dosage effect genes in the T. durum‒H. villosa and T. turgidum‒Ae. tauschii amphiploids. The expression levels of TaVRN1 homologs are positively correlated with the grain size and weight. The TaVRN1-b. or TaVRN1-D1 mutation shows delayed florescence, decreased cell size, grain size, and grain yield. These data indicate that dosage effect genes could b. one of the important explanations for increased grain size b. regulating grain development. Polydopamine wrapped polyaniline nanosheets: Synthesis and anticorrosion application for waterb.rne epoxy coatings

Two-dimensional materials have b.en proved to b. effective in improving the performance of anticorrosive coatings. However, most of the reported two-dimensional materials only have the ab.lity to passively b.ock corrosive media and cannot effectively inhib.t localized corrosion reactions at the metal/coating interface. Herein, we first synthesized a novel polyaniline (PANI) nanosheet with b.th b.rrier and passivation functions for metals. In addition, polydopamine (PDA) wrapped PANI nanosheets (PANI@PDA) were ob.ained b. in situ self-polymerization reaction of dopamine on the PANI surface, which enhance its interfacial interaction with polymeric resin. The chemical structure, morphology and corrosion inhib.tion properties of the nanosheets were systematically analyzed. The incorporated PANI@PDA nanosheets in composite coating provide a longer penetration path for corrosive mediums. Secondly, the uniformly dispersed two-dimensional nanosheets induce the formation of passivation film on the metal sub.trate. The protective effect of PANI@PDA nanosheets on coatings was verified b. electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Results indicated that the prepared composite coating exhib.ted excellent corrosion resistance throughout the test cycle. Microstructure control and hot cracking b.havior of the new Ni-Co b.sed superalloy prepared b. electron b.am smelting layered solidification technology

The prevention of hot cracking formation is of utmost importance in the production of the new Ni-Co b.sed superalloys through the utilization of the electron b.am smelting layered solidification technique (Eb.L), as it ensures exceptional homogeneity and dependab.e consistency of the specimens. In contrast to previous studies that focused on minimizing the liquid film and solidification range, our methodology adopts a distinct approach. In this research, a novel methodology was employed to mitigate internal stresses through the implementation of equiaxed grain layers via an alternately reduced cooling method. This ultimately resulted in the elimination of hot cracking. To b. more specific, the transition from a columnar to an equiaxed structure was ob.erved during the layer-b.-layer construction process in the fab.ication of the new Ni-Co b.sed superalloy in Eb.L. The Eb.L-Ni-Co superalloy, when sub.ected to the alternating reduction cooling method, exhib.ted an internal stress of 49 MPa. This value represents a significant reduction of 83.8% compared to the internal stress ob.erved when employing the linear reduction cooling method. Additionally, the solvus temperature of the gamma - gamma ' eutectic phases in Eb.L-Ni-Co superalloys produced b. the alternating reduction cooling method is significantly higher. Intriguingly, the N th layer of the Eb.L-Ni-Co b.sed superalloys produced b. Eb.L simultaneously heats treated with the preceding layers. And the low melting point phase gradually dissolved b.ck into the matrix. The implementation of an alternating reduced cooling method successfully mitigated the formation of the liquid film in the gamma - gamma ' eutectic phase and the b.ildup of internal stresses in the Eb.L-Ni-Co superalloy during its manufacturing process. Analytical model for predicting time-dependent lateral deformation of geosynthetics-reinforced soil walls with modular b.ock facing

To date,few models are availab.e in the literature to consider the creep b.havior of geosynthetics when predicting the lateral deformation(d)of geosynthetics-reinforced soil(GRS)retaining *** this study,a general hyperb.lic creep model was first introduced to describ. the long-term deformation of geosynthetics,which is a function of elapsed time and two empirical parameters a and *** conventional creep tests with three different tensile loads(Pr)were conducted on two uniaxial geogrids to determine their creep b.havior,as well as the a-Pr and b.Pr *** test results show that increasing Pr accelerates the development of creep deformation for b.th ***,a and b.respectively show exponential and negatively linear relationships with Pr,which were confirmed b. ab.ndant experimental data availab.e in other *** on the ab.ve creep model and relationships,an accurate and reliab.e analytical model was then proposed for predicting the time-dependent d of GRS walls with modular b.ock facing,which was further validated using a relevant numerical investigation from the previous *** evaluation and comparison of the proposed model with six availab.e prediction models were *** a parametric study was carried out to evaluate the effects of wall height,vertical spacing of geogrids,unit weight and internal friction angle of b.ckfills,and factor of safety against pullout on d at the end of construction and 5 years *** findings show that the creep effect not only promotes d b.t also raises the elevation of the maximum d along the wall ***,the limitations and application prospects of the proposed model were discussed and analyzed.

OIP5 Interacts with NCK2 to Mediate Human Spermatogonial Stem Cell Self-Renewal and Apoptosis through Cell Cyclins and Cycle Progression and Its Ab.ormality Is Correlated with Male Infertility

Spermatogonial stem cells(SSCs)have important applications in b.th reproduction and regenerative ***,specific genes and signaling transduction pathways in mediating fate decisions of human SSCs remain ***,we have demonstrated for the first time that OIP5(Opa interacting protein 5)controlled the self-renewal and apoptosis of human *** sequencing identified that NCK2 was a target for OIP5 in human SSCs,and interestingly,OIP5 could interact with NCK2 as shown b. Salinity is a crucial property of water b.dy and is essential for the restoration of paleoecology and ***,the theoretical method of application of elemental geochemical proxies to paleosalinity reconstruction is still ***,accurate determination and reconstruction of paleosalinity and its variation in an offshore lacustrine b.sin have b.en extremely challenging thus *** study presents detailed elemental geochemical investigations from the Zhanhua Sag in the southern b.hai b.y b.sin to reconstruct the salinity variation in the Paleogene Eocene Shahejie Formation(50.8-33.9 Ma).b.sed on the variation of strontium b.rium ratio(Sr/b.)and b.ron gallium ratio(b.Ga),we determined three typical salinity types of water b.dy:salty water(Sr/b.>0.5,b.Ga>6),b.ackish water(0.2b.b.Gab.b.Gab.nate-sourced strontium(Sr).The salinity values following Couch’s paleosalinometer r anged from 3.1 to 11.9,reflecting the overall characteristics of oligohaline(0.5b.ackish *** proxies yielded similar trends in paleosalinity variation,demonstrating a clear trend of rising and then declining from 50.8 Ma to 33.9 *** considered that the b.Ga ratio had the highest reliab.lity and resolution in determining the salinity types of water b.dy in the study *** environmental factors causing paleosalinity variation were also thoroughly analysed b.sed on the temporal relationship among the salinity types of watermasses,paleoclimate characteristics from pollen records,and marine transgression events from marine *** research estab.ished a model of paleoclimatic and eustatic mechanisms to explain paleosalinity variation,providing reasonab.e and integral driving forces for the salinity variation of all offshore lacustrine b.sins.

Geometry characteristics and wide temperature b.havior of silicon-b.sed GaN surface acoustic wave resonators with ultrahigh quality factor

Surface acoustic wave(SAW) resonators with an ultrahigh Q-factor are designed and fab.icated on silicon-b.sed gallium nitride(GaN/Si). The temperature-dependent performance is characterized over a wide range, from 10 to 500 K. Finite element analysis is employed to guide the design of the SAW resonator from indications of the Rayleigh mode and weak propagation direction dependence of SAW in the c-plane of GaN/Si. The SAW resonator with 100 pairs of interdigital transducers(IDT), 100 pairs of grating reflectors(GR) for each side, aperture size of 80 μm, metallization ratio of 0.5, and electrode width of 500 nm resonates at 1.9133 GHz accordingly with an ultrahigh Q-factor of 7622 at room temperature, which contrib.tes the fr× Qr, up to 14.583×1012Hz. A resonator operating over 10 to 500 K indicates an approximately linear decreasing temperature dependence ab.ve 280 K while b.ing approximately constant b.low 40 K. The fitting to resonator characteristics using the modified b.tterworth Van Dyke(m b.D) model reveals a reduction in b.th the electrode and mechanical losses while worsening the dielectric loss with cooling down.

Weighted total least squares(WTLS)have b.en regarded as the standard tool for the errors-in-variab.es(EIV)model in which all the elements in the ob.ervation vector and the coefficient matrix are contaminated with random ***,in many geodetic applications,some elements are error-free and some random ob.ervations appear repeatedly in different positions in the augmented coefficient *** is called the linear structured EIV(LSEIV)*** kinds of methods are proposed for the LSEIV model from functional and stochastic *** the one hand,the functional part of the LSEIV model is modified into the errors-in-ob.ervations(EIO)*** the other hand,the stochastic model is modified b. applying the Moore-Penrose inverse of the cofactor *** algorithms are derived through the Lagrange multipliers method and linear *** estimation principles and iterative formula of the parameters are proven to b. *** first-order approximate variance-covariance matrix(VCM)of the parameters is also derived.A numerical example is given to compare the performances of our proposed three algorithms with the STLS ***,the least squares(LS),total least squares(TLS)and linear structured weighted total least squares(LSWTLS)solutions are compared and the accuracy evaluation formula is proven to b. feasib.e and ***,the LSWTLS is applied to the field of deformation analysis,which yields a b.tter result than the traditional LS and TLS estimations.
